After contemplating a lot, I have also gone for the same ipad in 128 gb variant, with student discount i was getting ipad 10 gen 256 gb and ipad air m2 11" 128 gb in the same price, I chose the latter, I am still kinda scared about the storage, but I am more excited. Mine arrives in a week. I hope I am not disappointed.
never had S9, but M2 iPad pro is really good. M2 chip is more than enough for most things. The difference between M2 pro and M2 air is mostly in in camera and display.
