  • No player offers the same type of size, strength and shot creation that Duke star Banchero brings to the table at 6-foot-10 and 250 pounds. With legitimate guard skills that allow him to initiate Duke's offense in transition and function as a pick-and-roll ball handler in the half court, Banchero is a true mismatch nightmare, comparing favorably to post-injury Blake Griffin with his combination of power, agility and court vision. When Banchero is rolling offensively, few players are tougher to defend, which he showed the entire country in Madison Square Garden against Kentucky (22 points on 11 shots) and in a win over Gonzaga's Holmgren, scoring 21 points by way of pull-up 3s, step-back jumpers, crossover pull-ups, powerful drives and mid-post turnarounds. One of the most prolific isolation players in the NCAA, Banchero has an NBA-ready offensive bag.
    What version of Banchero will show up? Will it be the ultra-confident potential No. 1 pick who looked unfazed by the pressure of MSG or the player who looked tentative down the stretch of a few Duke losses during conference play? Will Banchero buy into a more free-flowing style that accentuates his pass-dribble-shoot skill set or will his catch-and-hold tendencies show up again during important games? Scouts will have a close eye on Banchero's defensive intensity and off-ball awareness, as his inconsistency on that end of the floor is a big reason why he has taken a back seat to two-way prospects such as Holmgren and Smith. Banchero is the type of offensive talent who can take over a game, and doing so when it matters most would be a great way to remind NBA executives why he was once considered the early favorite for the No. 1 pick. Scouts will surely be hoping for a deep run from Duke and Gonzaga, as that would set up a Banchero-Holmgren rematch in the Elite 8. -- Mike Schmitz

    Future 25+ ppg scorer, can score at all three levels in a variety of ways. Has the size and strength to finish a lot of and-1s. Foot work, pull up jumper, fadeaway, catch and shoot threes, pull up threes in transition, all the tools to be an elite NBA scorer. Plus, has a good feel and is a great passer for his size. Sees the floor, makes good decisions in traffic. Can run the fast break, has real point forward potential too. He’s going to be a monster with NBA spacing. Idk how you don’t take him first.

      @@jonahsd1818 I’m reasonably high on Jabari but not on Chet, like I said my mind can be changed but that Rockets team lacks a forward that can get physical and fill the lane which was a massive struggle because where I see Wood and Jabri have in common they both have a decent all round skill set but don’t standout at one skill and prefer to play around the perimeter since Wood isn’t much of a post guy. Paulo is a slept on passer as a big man which the team is bottom of the league in terms of Playmaking talent which Paulo has showed he’s capable of being a good passer to get shooters open bu either driving to the rim or staying active off the ball and doing quick handoff plays. Where I see Jabari is better then Paulo is from the perimeter on offence and defence but as soon as things get in the post or he’s forced off of his spot he can struggle.

      @@jonahsd1818 I don’t see KD in his game so much because even when KD was still the baby reaper he was still a capable playmaker that didn’t 100% rely on his shot because he has all of the fine skills of the game a possibility for him at any point, he was faster and smoother at driving to the rim because KD had just different level of movement off the ball wether it was shooting or cutting and facilitating while I don’t see Jabari having as good footwork or facilitating and off ball movement even if Jabari can shoot off the ball he’s not super mobile when he doesn’t have the ball.

    Can he go left? Also his off hand is rarely used to finish reminds me of julius randlr in that regard, that be said tho he clearly has very good offensive profile and is elite going right but he needs to work on going left and finishing with the off hand his handle is good enough to score at the next level with ease for his size he looks very strong as well a 3-level scorer he could be dangerous if he develops more.

    • @edwinramos4910
      @edwinramos4910 2 роки тому

      I think that you're exaggerating in regards to his left. There we plenty of times when he spun left, drove left, and plenty of effective crossovers. Yes, his most explosive plays typically have him going right or using his right hand, but that's normal. Every player favors their dominant hand when given the choice.
      What you don't want is a guy that CAN'T use their off hand when the defense takes away their dominant side. Banchero is still effective when he has to use his left or go left. He just prefers his dominant side, which, like I said, is completely normal. What he can already do is more than good enough for the League, and I'm sure he'll get better and become even more comfortable going left.

      @@damarkomoore5236 Yes, theoretically, but don't you think they knew that and made some attempts to force him away from his dominant side at the college level? He played against some very high level competition and against some very good coaches, and yet he still almost always managed to be effective.
      Offensively, Banchero has a very good feel for the game. Guys like him know how to get to their spots. They see and understand what the defense is trying to do, and are skilled enough to counter effectively.
