This is how they get you lol- There's a reason why it's all empty because most people sell their souls working at big tech companies like these and don't even have time to use the free arcade and etc given to them. Not to discourage anyone from going for it, just a fair warning!
This is better than Construction Management except you're salary at 70k. Lol At least here they get over 100k, free food, free naps, stock options. Shoot, grind it out for a couple of years you'll be set for life
I used to think fancy office “perks” like lunches and game rooms were great until I realized that 1) I hate open office plans. Please let me inhabit an un-invaded space, 2) I’m tired from working and I don’t actually want to use those fun spaces for anything except a nap, 3) I need to get out of the office for lunch so I don’t get cabin fever, and finally 4) I want health insurance and monetary perks over the “perks” big tech will use to lure people in. Don’t get me wrong. That kind of environment works for some. But I am one of those people who *really* doesn’t want my life to revolve around the office.
Worked in that kind of environment for 8 years and everything you said was on point. Since my desk was near the meeting rooms, it irked me a lot when people converge outside and talk so loudly without taking into consideration that people are working and trying to concentrate. Also, because the office has an open plan, we get so used to seeing or hearing somebody being scolded by our boss. It was embarassing especially with people from other teams witnessing the dressing down.
You have to stress yourself to no end working in a tech field. You may feel like a robot at times. But you get paid very well and work for a company like Microsoft that already raised salaries due to inflation. I mean my brother in Christ, it’s either this or break your back fixing roofs for less pay. Change my mind lol.
A couple of things: - Employees want to be at home, not at work. The game rooms seem cool, but would you really want to hang out at work in your free time? - The play areas are mostly empty. Nobody has time to “hang out” - Big tech companies are notorious for having no work/life balance. This video certainly doesn’t help with that belief. - The food and coffee look banging tho
What if you worked at an amusement park as a face character or costumed character? What if you supervised a family entertainment center in the laser tag arena or arcade? What you worked for a company where you could test and build lifelike robots? What if you worked for a Comic Con convention, mermaid festival, or popular film festival? Would you want to leave work then?
Where I work is not as beautiful as this but I read a comment here that reminds me that my office also have free gym, game rooms, and library which I have only visit once for my introduction tour but I then I got so busy I don't have time to utilize them. Lol
People generally work more efficiently and faster when they're happy and needs are met so probably get a lot of work done even with the games than you do in any other job
you will be loaded up with so much work, you will be working longer and harder. and if you use any of the facilities during working hours, you will be disciplined.
Spoken like a true 10 year old lol. News flash: When you sign a contract to work 10+ hrs a week, you don't have the option to maybe work and play in the games room.
@@AliceAmane they are more for decoration. or you might be able to use them much later at night when everyone has gone home. even after 5p, when work ends if colleagues are working, they will give you looks for using them
my mom works at the google hq in mountain view silicon valley! i go there all the time with her whether that be for dinner or because i'm on break :) great place, it even has music rooms and a nicely cared-for gym
i remember being in awe of a huge slide INSIDE the google hq building in mountain view, ca when i went there for a field trip in middle school... like that slide was legit like in the middle of the building and employees could use it to go down to the first floor from the second floor
My next door neighbor works for Google. He doesn’t have time to play games. He’s working around the clock. He actually wants to get out and is always applying at other places.
My office is just like this. But I still prefer to WFH. Lol. Materialistic environment doesn't matter when you have to sit in front of a laptop for 10 hours.
You’re at the spruce goose!! That’s my home office. Everyone works remotely that’s why it’s all empty lol but I love this office so much it’s so beautiful and the food is so good!!
It's an over elaborate trap to keep you there.. Free WiFi free food, probably movie theatre and dry cleaners and barbers too.. Thats all you need to keep the mice enticed in the Maze without wanting to leave the Maze
yea nothing beats working from home. Dont have to worry about your appearance, dont have to waste gas, dont have to listen to co-workers, dont have to suffer from extreme workplace politics, dont have to worry about bosses looking over your shoulder to make sure you are working
@@KKarama1 only works for people who could get done in their own place. A lot of people need to leave their homes and go to a different place to get work done. That's why during the pandemic there were so many students who wanted to go to face-to-face school instead of staying online and why a lot of people go to the library to study and why a lot of work from home employees go to cafés and diners to get work done.
its nice but these kind of perks are very rarely used apart from the free food since people are going to go home after their shifts. Working from home is still best if you prefer not having to commute
I don't see anything about the job, just the perks of working there. No, I don't think I'd want to work there... I want to know what the job responsibilities are, what is the pay, and will they let me have vacation time when I want to take my vacation, and how do they treat their employees? I've worked for a big corporate company and perks like this are literally just manipulation.
I've worked in Google before 2016 to 2019.. and I'm not quite sure if this allowed.. I mean showing their office online.. specially the office, gaming room even the pantry.. hmmmm
Free food and amenities will never be enough to entice the employees to return to office. They better sell these buildings or turn them into residential complexes to rent out.
I wouldn’t like to work there. It would be very distracting with all those games and stuff. Plus, in that kind of places they expect you to give them your life and soul just because all the trivial gimmick they offer. That’s garbage. I appreciate your insight though.
Uh it's more like they are working from home?
Pretty sure they’re working from the comfort of their very nice homes in their very nice neighborhoods.
Mega tech corporations and CEOs don’t pay their fair share of taxes
Yup I’ve worked at these companies. The food is nice but you are a slave and never leave. They offer you unlimited PTO but no one ever takes it.
Know someone who did. It’s all fun and games until they expect you to be there 16 hours a day
that’s why they have the food and lounges… so you never have to leave :,)
