I was literally just looking at this and wondering if there were any reviews on this. I saw a new notification and this was uploaded 4 mins ago. Thanks Techne
Great review as always. Got the regular TKL version for 849 SEK which is about 80 euro during Black Friday here in Sweden. Now I've got a great portable keyboard to spare! Not really ready to give up on my old Corsair K95 with the 18 macro buttons, it's incredibly powerful so I will definitely be wearing it out until it straight up gives up.
I really like that you got both versions and compared them to each other. Awesome work as always. Any chance to test the new Roccat mice too? Burst and Burst Pro.
My Vulcan TKP Pro failed last week, I bought the Vulcan TKL this time, and yeah after using optical switches for over a year, you can most def feel the difference. The optical switches feel smoother!
Alread tried them out at a local store. Love both of 'em but the are to expensive in my opinion 130€ for the normal tkl. If they drop under 100€ on Black Friday I would probably buy it
really loved this keyboard except for 1 flaw that made me return it. the space button is shaped round as where as the keys are low and concave so every time i would go to hit the C or V button my fat palm would hit the space button and and ruin my motion of gaming.
Hey Techne, I was looking into the Titan switches on Roccat's website and they state that the Optical ones have a travel distance of 2.8mm while the mechanical ones have a total travel of 3.6mm, was wondering if you could confirm if they feel the exact same or there is indeed a travel distance between them.
Only thing that bugs me on the review is you said you struggle to tell the difference with how each switch feels but still went with the optical being smoother. The only difference between them is. One breaks a light bar. The other hits the bottom of the pcb pretty much. Both feel the exact same as the original switch was altered very slightly to interupt a light bar. it is still the original and same feeling switch. So as for smoothness i would say its identacle and it might be a slight mentality difference? Besides this its a wonderful rewview! and im really considering the tkl as i have a 122 atm. However deskroom is a issue atm.
Is there any kind of advantage from the TKL Pro towards the TKL other than the durability of the Optical Switches? Is the TKL Pro like...faster? I mean they have the same actuation of 1,4mm but is the TKL Pro faster because the light sensor has a lower latency input than a mechanical switch? And even if it was faster, does it really matter? Please enlighten me, Sensei :)
Good review as always. Been waiting for the optical tkl review. I purchased the mechanical version not too long ago, but ended up returning because the swarm software kept crashing.
Man I bought a roccat mouse years ago and the drivers weren't supported by windows 10 which means none of the extra buttons would register. I spent about 4 hours trying every work around on the internet. I sent that thing back the same day. I assume it's different now but that experience really soured me on this brand.
@@TheTechne bro I can’t believe how fast your channel is growing, It felt like yesterday when I was watching your review and you had 4K. Congrats on 100k man! 🎉🎉🎉
Sorry I am kinda late I didn't get notified there is something wrong with UA-cam but glad you are safe and still uploading and also would you mind doing a video on a new hot swap keyboard
Not PBT. That's the information I was looking for. I been looking for a low profile board with stock PBT keycaps. I thought I found one but I can't remember where I saw one.
I am looking for an rbg tkl mechanical keyboard. I had the Hyperx Origins core with Hyperx Pudding keycaps in mind but the Vulcan TKL Pro also looks good (I would get the apex pro but it is out of my budget). Which one would you recommend I should get?
It's good but I buy the roccat Vulcan tkl and doesnt have a wrist rest can i buy it separately, it will attach well with magnet and it is the right size? thank you
Hmm the mechanical one sounds better from the recording, but I'm getting the PRO and it'll be my first keyboard with optical switches! Definitely looking forward to it! ✌️
To not spam techne, I'll just update in my own comment. It arrived one day earlier from Amazon and I really love this keyboard!!! It's so comfortable to type on!!!
@@_.go._ Nice! I’m getting one too! Comes in on Wed. Wish they didn’t use ABS keycaps though, I might return it. Let me know if you’ve had any problems with the keycaps, because I got this keyboard for $40 off on Amazon, and this board sounds and looks super nice.
@@aidencortez5490 It is using ABS keycaps, but it doesn't feel that bad! It will leave some greasy marks on it, but I like the smooth touch. $40!!!? That's so cheap! I got it for like CDN$129.99 lol. Personally speaking, this is one of my favorite keyboards :D
Techne I'm trying to pick between this one or the steelseries apex pro. What do you think. Would prefer wireless too but this one doesn't have a wireless version. Should I hold off.
@@AbulaSyllabus yesterday i was at Best Buy like two hours trying to decide between the two. Finally went w the Vulcan cause it looked better, but im not sure which has the better switches.
Hey techne love your channel, but what headset do you recommend for PS4, I’ve been using the Razor kraken for a while and I think it’s time for an upgrade
As a TKL fan, i must say i'm really disappointed with one thing about the Vulcan TKL (no pro) : The rubber cable. I really love Roccat stuff and i'm actually on a setup with Suora as a keyboard, and Tyon as a mouse. They are both with braided cable, and from 2016 and 2014. The fact the Vulcan TKL doesn't have the same cable as his brother is pure marketing : If you want that cable, buy the most expensive one, even if you are not interested in these optical switch. Beside that point, they both seems amazing, i just don't know which one i should pick now...
Techne after no power >>> regular techne. The videos just have a different vibe... Keep it up and i hope there's no more power issues delaying this kind of content
Just picked yup the tkl from best buy. It was that or a Logitech one. Haven't had good experiences with logi so wanted to try a new brand I haven't heard of. Good review.
hey techno glad to see you grow from 18k, keep it up bro. I have a question though, do you know any good budget keyboards? preferably %60 but i wouldn’t care if it was tkl as i have one right now.
Any way to get one of these with Seriko or Topre switches? Just want it to be super silent but also, if possible, similar to a brown with a little tiny bit of tactile.
It's time to compare top tier wireless headset like Corsair Void Pro, Logitech G Pro X Wireless, Cloud 2 Wireless, Razer Blackshark V2 Pro, Arctis 7 all are almost the same price so it would be awesome if you compare them.
Logitech G513 switches went bad after 2 years. Just after warranty. Double typing, or non responsive for some keys, actually most keys. Well played, Logitech.
hey techne do u think the apex pro tkl is worth the money since the keyboard will last a long time but the keycaps wont. Also is it worth if i dont get pbt custom ones
Great review. Looking forward to your review of the GMMK Pro when it comes! In my opinion ABS isn't necessarily worse than PBT, GMK keycaps for example are ABS. It's more that they used a poor quality ABS plastic. I would agree PBT perhaps has better inherent characteristics for a gaming keyboard though.
