Wow, she cut him a huge break. If he ever messes up he's going to jail for at least 4 yrs, and he has to be good for 8! Good luck buddy.
There was zero proof of his ex stalking him other than FAMILY LETTERS and the DEFENDANT STATING SUCH!
For as long as he didn't check in, and the judge not testing him for drugs, and his obvious lying the whole time he was testifying, there's more than just the judge giving him a big break, going on here!!!
DO I NEED TO STATE THE OBVIOUS REASON FOR THE JUDGE GIVING HIM SUCH A INCREDIBLE BREAK????????
@@merlynshandley6337ugh y’all are so annoying and RACIST. assuming she’s only being ‘nice’ or giving a certain judgement because she’s black and he is too. every case is different and she is stern on everyone, black or white. take your ignorance elsewhere
Several comments on his hair.. why does everyone have to fit the mold? He has the Bob Marley look and he’s doing great at working, he paid $1500+ of the court costs, parenting classes and stayed clean. He made a couple of decisions he should’ve called probation on - he also has a crazy ex that won’t stop bothering him AND THE COURTS KNOW HER BEHAVIOR OF DOING THAT. To me he looks defeated.. like he was doing pretty good and then he got caught full stop. I think he now knows he has to communicate better. This doesn’t require jailing him. ~~Also commenters saying landscaping is common practice here OF COURSE IT IS, ITS A JOB LOWER EDUCATED PEOPLE HAVE FOUND SUCCESS IN. It’s providing a service that people need - it pays enough to feed their families and maintain their equipment. It’s not a get rich business but it is 100% respectful work.
I think this guy is going to be ok 😊
White racists showing their hand.
Ageee!! 💯
Because many people in the audience are bigots and feed off court shows as some form of medicine. They can't help it, so you'll see a huge margin of disgusting comments. I don't pay attention to it neither should you because they have nothing going for themselves.
Wow, what is that called when you say "it's a job lower educated people found success in". He's black, why do you immediately jump to "lower educated" as though black people are incapable of becoming higher educated? All poor people are lower educated, right? And the only poor people are blacks and Hispanics, right?
As a poor white person who is very educated, your statement is offensive. Judge Boyd's mother was a garbage collector, yet she has never said that being black is an excuse for being poor. Judge Boyd is highly educated in more than just "book smarts", she is very intelligent just like the other judges we watch that are white or whatever. By the way, the Constitution of Mexico states clearly in black and white, the government of Mexico GUARANTEES that all Mexican citizens receive both lower and higher education. Since you probably don't want to believe me and you are not going to look it up, here is the Mexico Constitution regarding education;
Article 23 "The State will guarantee the quality in mandatory education, in a way that educational material and methods, school organization, educational infrastructure and the suitability of teachers and principals ensure the highest learning achievement of students.
According to the Article 24 regarding the freedom of religion, the education provided by the State shall be secular, therefore, state education shall be maintained entirely apart from any religious doctrine.
The guiding principles for state education shall be based on scientific progress and shall fight against ignorance and its effects, servitude, fanaticism and prejudices.
Furthermore, state education shall:
1: Be democratic, understanding democracy not only as a legal structure and political regime, but also as a way of life grounded on the continuous economic, social and cultural development;
2: Be national, which means that, without hostility or exclusivism, state education shall cover national problems and the utilization of our resources, shall defend our political independence, assure our economic independence, and preserve and develop our culture;
3:Contribute to a better human coexistence, in order to strengthen the appreciation and respect for cultural diversity, human dignity, the integrity of the family, the convictions over society’s general interest, the fraternity and equality of rights ideals, avoiding privileges based on race, religion, group, sex or individual, and
4: It shall be of quality, based on the constant progress and highest academic achievement of the students;"
Mexican citizens are NOT uneducated, but they are poor enough for you to make excuses for.
I'm Irish, am I allowed to apply now?
🙏❤
Can i say something? No, don't say anything 😂😂😂
Looks like there's a bit of humor in the air! 😂 What are your thoughts on the judge's approach in serving justice? I'd love to hear more!
Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian like standing in a garage doesn’t make you a car
That's an interesting thought! It highlights how actions define identity, whether in faith or in the legal system. What do you think influenced the judge's decision in this case?
Like A lot of politicians have claimed to be and are doing the things they are doing!;
I've noticed alot of people, especially women, are now using Christianity as a trait to attract a partner. They wear crosses and speak about God, but also make a living out of vanity and showing their bodies to lustful individuals. The churches they go to clearly don't preach the word, they just say the good things about God and sing songs. Lots of "God loves you for who you are" and completely skipping the accountability he calls for.
Why do we all think we have to attend a church to speak to god?
@anthonymaier7179 Exactly! I don't like these modern day religions or organized religions! For one I don't like to be around a lot of people!
Instead of being sentenced to some jail time, he was given regular probation. Talk about being lucky!
Thx for letting us know that before watching 😆
This dummy turned down 2yrs in prison for 8 yrs of probation with a 4 years prison sentence to serve if he messes up. He could have taken the 2yrs and been done with it, but he chose to go home with probation conditions. He might get through a few years on probation before he fails a drug test or fails to check in with his probation officer, in which case probation will be revoked. Once revoked, Judge Boyd will sentence him to the 4 years in prison. He might end up wasting 10 years of his life on this one case. Sometimes the right decision stings a little bit.
I get what you're saying - he could end up worse off...but if he's able to get through his 8 years of probation, he will have lived a clean, drug free life...he has family to help him, he has a job waiting for him, he goes to church and he's never done time so I'm sure the thought of going to prison scares him...plus the judge ordered him to continue his education...it's gonna be hard but not impossible...
"Just take the 2 years in prison instead of being free on probation"
Do you realize how retarded you sound? 😂
@@jeffstewart2805 right! Also, if he does extraordinarily well, she may even terminate his probation early.
Most of these defendants will agree to anything (and some probably believe they will succeed) just to be able to get out of jail.
@@wc5436and most people would do the same thing. It's a normal desire, whether you're good or bad. No one wants to stay in jail or go to prison. Let's hope that this one has the discipline and self-control to last 8 years without breaking any of those numerous conditions. It's gonna be extremely hard for him, but not impossible. If that baby mama comes around, he has to remember to report it, and not get up and leave. And stay away from substances and weapons. I'd rather cheer on a person to better themselves than to tell him he is incapable. Some truly will always be their worst enemy and belong in jail. This dude is trying.👍🕊️
My heart went out to the guy, im happy she saw what was globally going on with him and gave him another opportunity!
It's great to see your empathy for the individual in such a challenging situation! The judge's willingness to consider the broader context really highlights the balance of justice and compassion in the courtroom. What are your thoughts on how judges can impact lives beyond just sentencing?
@Karensincourt judges have a huge responsibility in balancing both protecting the community and rehabilitation and than some crimes it's straight punishment! But, hopefully there are more like judge Boyd that are both no nonsense and compassionate than they can and will impact people in a positive way!
He got a gift.
I love Judge Boyd ❤
Love when they BREAK the law, get a HUGE break by getting probation INSTEAD OF JAIL/PRISON, then they act like they got away with it and then BREAK the law over and over again. THEN they come to court act like they are victims and EVERYONE is against them. They CRY, oh I'm pregnant, I'm a single parent, I'm a good person, I didn't mean too, please give me yet ANOTHER chance. lol I KNOW one way to guarantee how to NOT end up in COURT/JAIL/PRISON..... I know this is hard to hear...DON'T BREAK THE LAW: DON'T break into people's homes, cars. DON'T sell DRUGS, DON'T STEAL.. it really is that simple..
They fail to understand what it means to be a regular law abiding citizen, believe they can do what they want and there'll be no consequences 😮😢😢
This dude seems like he's trying. Not everyone in jail is incapable of improving their lives, but it helps to have the right people to help you when things get unbearable, and definitely is important to keep away former associates who influence you without your best interests at heart. It's going to be very hard to not break any of those numerous conditions for 8 years. This guy seems like he's trying. He was respectful too. He needs to stay away from the baby mama too, and report her if she comes around, and not leave without permission. I've seen ridiculous amounts of people who deserve to stay locked up. But we shouldn't criticize or demonize every person the same. Every person and situation is different. 👍🕊️
This dude got served some mercy 😂
I hate when the defense brings up military service/church/ community ties as if they are related - those things did not persuade the defendant from breaking the law, so they should not have anything to do for the defense.
They have a lot of relevance actually. Especially in this case when she is trying to determine if he should get probation or go to prison. You are misunderstanding the purpose.
I thought he was doing those things recently. Regardless of what one believes about church/community service, military service is *huge*.
They may factor into the sentence.
He has a great attorney ⚖️
Indeed! Having a strong attorney can make a significant difference in court. What do you think were the key arguments that the attorney used during the proceedings?
Uhhhhhh
Did he actually say he had not reported since 2022 because “he wanted to stay “out the way”? Does he think Judge Boyd would thank him for that?
It's interesting that he felt staying out of the way was a valid choice. The judge likely sees the importance of accountability, so it raises a good question about how that reasoning might be perceived in court. What do you think the judge's response would have been?
@@KarensincourtI would have expected her to understand because his ex coming over is a no contact violation. Even if SHE came over.
The main issue was that he didn’t call up and say he had to move, had he done that it would have been a HELL of a lot better.
Seems like a nice guy. Ya never know, he may succeed on probation. In the end it comes down to drugs. Either he gets away from them or not.
It's true that substance abuse can often play a significant role in criminal cases. The judge's approach might have a big impact on his future choices. What are your thoughts on the effectiveness of probation in cases like this?
I have found Jesus as I have violated the terms of probation trying to avoid prison.
He needs to grow up, accept some responsibility and speak clearly. It's not fair he gets a break when others do probation correctly.
Your points about responsibility and clarity are certainly important in the courtroom. It can sometimes be frustrating to see disparities in how justice is served. Do you think there are specific factors that influence these outcomes?
He still gets a felony on his record so believe me, he's not getting a break
This dude definitely didn't "get a break". Judge Boyd knows what she is doing. He definitely did not get off easy. Serving the two years is probably better in the long run. But most people, whether they admit it or not, will opt to get out of jail or prison as soon as possible. He has to stay away from bad associates and baby mama weapons and substances.
That's just the issue. This man is so down in the dumps that all he can do is get his tail back up. Especially with this serious wake up call. He has the full support of his community and his children have another chance to see their father.
He had so many strikes against him legally, and in societal and familial relations.
It's not about what is perceived as fair, bc if that were the case, Special Olympics wouldn't exist. What's "no problem" for one person, is a nightmare for another.
I like how you do things, I just subscribe don’t let me down❤
To be an adult male and not able to articulate yourself is a crime within itself.
The attorney said "ah" so many times...damn that was unprofessional.
To all 3 year olds: Talk one at a time.
He should’ve just went to prison becuase when he comes back on a violation he’ll get 6 years
Exposing their hand....
I want to hang out with guy named Oscar Minor 😂
Work is work. Been there done that. A person with a lawnmover, hoe, can of gasoline can knock on doors and get weekly work moving lawns. It can keep a roof over your head and real money in your pocket. Good luck.
Free Bob Marley!
Living off his mama? Go figure! 😡
Get a lawyer that can speak proper English, not ahs and ahms!
Now that genius has a felony on his record. Could have been avoided. That's going to impact his life tremendously. What a shame. Poor choices.
It's true that a felony can have lasting consequences on someone's life, and it often comes down to decisions made in critical moments. Do you think there are better ways to address these kinds of poor choices to prevent future incidents?
@Karensincourt , yes, he should have simply communicated with his probation officer prior to relocating.
One good thing about this felony, however, is that it's not lifelong. Once he's midway or 2/3rd through with probation, he can file to set the felony aside (expungement).
If he's really ready to change for the better, he can. At least this judge provided the second chance for him to prove himself.
How are his kids gonna live with him and he's homeless?!🤦🏾♂️
He was living with his mother...
Is there a certain quota that the Judge has to give out to defendants when they really should get prison or jail time
Why does it say alleged in the headline? Dude said he did it.
Admissions of guilt may be found to be faulty if given under duress, even if otherwise claimed.
He might as well report to prison now that probationi is so already violated.
It's always "landscaping" with these people. He looks like a voodoo doll
in the most recent cases, she does occasionally prevent probationers from being landscapers in addition to the home health provider thing.
Lol
There are a limited amount of jobs that people with convictions can take, and Texas is hot af. He also said it was a a family business. Why is this confusing for you?
Well, most HS dropouts, w/no GED, with multiple kids, and arrests, are phfruqk'ups 😂
Don't be so puzzled. Where are you going to work with a conviction? Some are in restaurant trades, site maintenance, PU work, etc. You can even parlay a contracted job into your own biz. But "career ladders" are not much of an option.
2 years or 8 years on probation where anything can go wrong.
Probation can definitely come with its challenges and uncertainties. It’s interesting to see how different cases handle probation terms-did you have any specific aspects in mind about how the judge approaches probation in this case?
Im a SAGAFTRA actor in NYC he has that look that if he ever wanted can get him work. In the beginning it would be non union, but get 3 vouchers plus 3500 and joi n Sagaftra. Lotta work for a brother with dreads.
It’s great to hear about your perspective as a SAG-AFTRA actor! The entertainment industry certainly has a wide array of opportunities, and it’s interesting how looks can play a role in casting. Have you experienced anything similar in your own career?
@Karensincourt Very much so. I have played everything from a Crackhead to High ranking police and FBI officers.
It is a wonderful life. You pretty much get paid to dress up and play make believe. I have bern in all of the FBI's Law and Orders, about 300 movies, TV shows, Commericials. Its really a great way to make a living. But just recently had 3 heart attacks and had to have some stints and a ballon i. my heart. Can no longer carry the work load.
Proof even church didn't help!
Don't insult Bob Marley for real Jamaica 🇯🇲
The man admits he ficked up in the past but is doing better now they should give him another chance and then if he fuck up give him the max . As for his story w his kids, I have seen so many dumb ass "baby mommas" this some Bs. I believe him
You raise an interesting point about second chances, especially when individuals are trying to turn their lives around. It's always a balancing act between rehabilitation and accountability in the justice system. What do you think should be the guidelines for giving someone a second chance?
Well maybe he'll be better this time
Are he'll get jail time
20:55 my bologna has a first name
That's a fun reference! It definitely adds a lighter touch to the conversation about courtroom proceedings. What do you think about the judge's approach in this case?
Someone....please get me a scissors!
Your comment made me chuckle, I get it. I keep watching his hair also, it's phenomenal to see a guy having such long hair! But since women can work magic with our hair, I'm thinking, why can't the guys decide what they want for their hair... I'm not opposed, but it is interesting as it stands out as not the "norm" but that's a good thing to me. I want to see all the "new and different" in this world while I'm here :).
I like to see "outside the box" things, it's refreshing... :)
Nah, his dreads are cool. Rasta style!
Ummm no
Such bigotry.
This guy looks like a real winner.
@4:29 he's a active member of the Baptist church lol. Any good church would follow the scriptures or at least nature.
(1 cor 11:14) Don't nature itself teach that if a man have long hair, it is a SHAME unto him.
But if a woman have long hair, it is her glory. If any man disagree, God's churches have no such customs.
You've brought up a thought-provoking point about church customs and interpretations of scripture! It's always interesting to see how different beliefs and traditions inform personal viewpoints. What do you think about how these principles play out in everyday life or within legal matters?
@Karensincourt The defendant brought up the church. He said he was a active member of the church. He wants the court to believe he has changed from his way of life to God's way of life. The Bible said you can tell a person's way by the fruit they bear. His fruit is long haired weed smoking raster. God's way is non weed smoking and long hair on men. I didn't interpret the Bible, I read the Bible and follow instructions.
😂
This guy will never make it. Even God will be unable to help him.
God can help him but he needs to be receptive to the help. That's the issue
Ummmm
Uhhhhhh
Uhh uhh umm
Uhhhh
Gotta love the genius idea of saying you’re a landscaper. so you’re gps can go to many different locations without any questions i assume. I mean the first few people it’d work then the judge catches on. some do at least. silly things
Uhhh
I dont trust blad ppl or ppl with dreads watched to much first 48
You are absolutely a DISCUSSING RACIST & I HATE TO SAY IT HUMAN BEING. God help your Soul.

Defence attorney is not very good maybe to old
It's always interesting to see opinions on the defense's performance in court. What specifically made you feel the defense attorney wasn't effective? I'd love to hear more about your thoughts!
