I keep hearing about that series. Gonna have to check it out sometime. But I’ve been doing my own rewriting of the full series for the past three years.
Technically speaking, the White Trailer was always canon, although we never learned the specifics of it until one of the Mangas. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of Ice Queendom. Some of the characterization is a bit off for me & the pacing is- to put it bluntly, a mess. As someone who has been waiting for a proper Anime Spin-off of RWBY for years, the results were left to be desired... The Sakuga scenes are fire, though. When IQ is good, it's *really* fucking good
The final battle is beautifully animated and it's honestly some of the best fight scenes to come from RWBY in a long while. I know it sounds silly, but I absolutely love Weiss vs. the Boar. It hit that perfect balance of stylish flair of showing off Weiss' abilities, but still kept the fight easily digestible and coherent. I feel a lot of the fights in IQ were lacking clarity and/or style, so that one fight really stuck out to me in a good way.
My only concern with a RWBY reboot is that if it was made by Roosterteeth, it just wouldn't live up to the original. Monty was the whole reason Vol 1-3 is considered the best in the series. Without him, a reboot would flop hard.
I thinking a reboot could work if done right. Some changes would have to be made behind the scenes though. First and foremost, loose the current writers.

Theres actually some animators available to fill in for that. Monty inspired a lot of people to learn his art style to the point where they're replicating him somewhat. They could always get those people involved if they wanted to get a monty-esq feel to the rwby fights

I believe the Icequeendom is a proof of concept and shows the potential for a reboot which I believe RWBY desperately needs. Monty never claimed to be an excellent writer, he was a Top Tier Cinematographer and Choreographer, the story for RWBY came to him in a fevered dream while experimenting with sleep aids, the show is a result of him and a small team of inexperienced nonprofessional writers trying to make sense of it all. Monty was the source of it all, he was keyed in to something but even he admitted he felt he was missing things, after his death that became even more apperant with said "writing team" running out of his notes and then out of ideas, then spiraling into the mess we complain about today. The idea of RWBY is fascinating, the idea of the characters is intriguing, and Monty gave us enough material to work with that if we took it and ran with it it could could become a massive compelling world with deep complexity and intricacy that would have you glued to your screen. I have seen ideas to apply Geological, anthropological, and sociological principles to writing that blew my mind and changed my perspective, for instance have you noticed that Remnant is basically a Warhammer 40k death world? I am convinced that a dedicated and motivated team of experienced writers could fix everyones grief with RWBY with a rewrite and reboot and do it well.
I think there is a really big issue with RWBY, and this is kind of why i dropped the series. People like the asethetic design and flair of RWBY, but the audience is too diverse for a niche series. People who liked the crappy writing and clunky vibes, don't like the direction the show went. People who liked the middle zone, with improved anims and escalating plot, don't like what came before or after. People who liked the later parts, don't like how the it started and want more of where it is going. These are just the general audiences, it gets deeper, but i'll move on. This is kinda why the show stagnated in popularity growth, even tho the IP itself was still growing so much. Too many fans coming in and out. I stopped watching years ago, but you would see arguing and complaints from all sorts of sides. Your 40k warhammer comment, I've seen people say that too. I personally am not that much of a fan of 40k warhammer, but I do get the connection. RWBY does border dark fantasy, but they keep a light hearted tone. Ruby is the heroine of the show, and someone like her shouldn't be in a dark fantasy world. She is a shining beacon of hope, and trying to write out a dark edgy plot doesnt fit her. You either kill her as a character or you can't explore how deep and dark the world is. This is literally why the writers struggle so much in writing the serious story parts. I would like to believe they tried to be true to monty, but ended up writing themselves into a corner with no clue on what to do next. They know which ever path they go, they will piss off some fans and potentially kill the series, while battling their own thoughts on what they personally should add in or not. The idea of a reboot is pretty cool and interesting, its been talked about for a long time. I even used to be pretty into that idea, but the realism is that there are too many takes and opinions for it to be actually successful. There is a lot of crossover in the fanbase, but at the end of the day the reboot is only going to cater directly to a specific portion, half the portion caring midly, and another portion isolated and disconnected. I personally prefer the earliar seasons, with the ensemble cast and bad jokes. I wished they spent more time in school, getting to meet more students from other schools and more villains on the side. Expand on the teachers, the cities politics, and nature and purpose of a hunter/huntress. All doing this while still keeping things light hearted, fun, and the stakes not so high.

Personally I would love to see a reboot I don't know about having a continued on by the ice Queendom even though I didn't think it was better than the original I'd rather see a complete reboot from the ground up personally if they were going to go today yes they can stay with the Anime Studio that made ice queendom but if they're going to go with 3 D I would go with Square Enix personally speaking I think they would be better
i will say those extra scenes in ice queendom where nice and created some great moments, but the scenes they skipped where just baffling the problem with a reboot is we already know how the big climax plays out, even if they do change some things the core part of the story will always play out the same
This might be a huge stretch on my end, but add a character or a group of characters that aren't supposed to be in their world or aren't originally from their world that are thier to sorta change certain aspects of their world but keep the general plot the same ie Pyra gets her death faked by said group/person due to Juan needing a push to get stronger then during the haven fight the group or person comes in with Pyra to turn the tides big time but that's just my thoughts kinda wanna start something like that with digimon but have it at like the starting point for a whole series of I guess dimension drifting
An idea i had was to make Ice Queendom a trilogy of sorts: IQ was V1 and about Weiss. IQ2(the name would obviously change) would be V2 about Blake and her past in more detail. The Nightmare Grimm could return in some way, making the dream versions come out in the real world. IQ3 could just be the Vytal Festival, but only like the fights we didn't see or that actually matter. In here we could see Ruby and Yang's past, with the latter even meeting Raven.
I think having both the OG and a Remastered version both available is the best course of action, So it gives both groups a choice between the two. For those who are reacting to RWBY from the start of the show, It should be left up to votes on who will choose the Original or the Remastered Version. I know the older seasons can be a bit out dated compared to the rest of it especially after such a major overhaul in Volume 9. In terms of animations I think that can largely be left alone (If they can be converted over). The only thing is really being touched visually is the models and most likely the environments too and with new additional extra story too without breaking existing volumes. There is already a Volume 5 Model existing with Ruby, Wiess, Blake and Yang they don't need to do any extra work there it already exists. But we don't have any Volume 5 old version of other models, like Pyrrah, Jaune, Nora, etc.
RWBY was made by so many successful tropes but gone wrong. However it became a popular fan work. So saying it needs a reboot is like rebooting Minecraft sandbox gimmick. Downside of being a fan service, it’s not one sided or unanimous. Ice Queendom is a good example, introducing new characters, concepts and plot that could’ve been one of those side quests movies or filler. RWBY could only be fan service because RT has dug deeper in their improv series, there’s no turning back now and they got to finish it soon.
I think the series would be revived if they would remake vol 1-3 REVol 1. As I think the writers need more time to write better stories for 10 since 7-8 were lucklaster and 9 was good due to the long wait time. So during that remaking 1-3 would 100 percent increase revenue due to it being legacy seasons
@@MrLightningbob I think Monty's story died with him and RT is just trying to turn the ashes into something profitable "for the fans". The story just needs to end. It's just sad to see it still trying to be a thing and the long waiting time for them to even start the next volume.

From what I've been told from a friend who has a source in RT who had worked with Monty, my story follows Oum's plans better than what RT did since his passing. Nice way to put it, V4-5 events happen mostly differently with a full White Fang civil war between Sienna and Adam's forces that leads to Mistral being attacked. And the White Fang under Adam aren't done yet either as they go northward, even if they ultimately failed in Mistral. Plus BlackSun and other surprises.

Maybe, if they do get to making a second season, it could take place in between Volumes 3 and 4. That way, we could potentially get to see how some of the characters deal with their grief after the Fall of Beacon. I say this because it just sometimes feels like we don't really get to see how some them grow and move past their losses much in the original show. I feel this especially the case with Ruby. We see in Volume 3 how shaken up she is by both Penny and Pyrrha's deaths. But then in Volume 4 and forward, she acts mostly unaffected. It isn't helped we don't see how much she's truly effected until Volume 9, which is only after suffering failure after failure after failure. This somewhat changes the context then, because it's not about loss/grief in the volume but failure of one's role in the end. (Plus, if the story were utilized this way in between the third and fourth volumes, we'd also get to see more one-on-one interactions between Ruby and Tai.) Not to mention how many others the cast knew may have died at the Fall of Beacon. I'm just saying this would be an interesting concept to explore.

0:20 Well I think they just almost had it right with Ice Queendom but the story and Ruby's voice actually seems like a downgrade from the original series. The art style and animation in Ice Queendom is insanely beautiful though. It's probably good that they changed the story in Ice Queendom but they didn't make it any better or even near as good as the original. And again, I prefer the voice Ruby has in the original series. Ice Queendom is so beautiful in both art and animation but it's such wasted potential because of the story.
I’ve always felt that tai was more fatherly to Yang but less so to Ruby. In my opinion Qrow should have been Ruby’s dad but hide it because of his bad luck
I wouldn’t mind a reboot. The past few volumes have been less enjoyable, especially the last one. Just kinda feels like the magic is gone. Just nothing left from the early volumes that actually drew us to the series.
The anime did do a better job for the first volume but I didn’t like how they expect you to watch the original first. Such as making the characters have better traits & not be too quirky. I prefer the sub than the dub from the original. The dub VA’s don’t feel they care about putting effort in. Meanwhile the sub you can feel their emotions in all their lines. However I do agree that they needed a reboot after Monty did pass away after Vol 3. I hope we see more of the anime
Here's my own idea of a RWBY reboot, for example of changes Ruby and Yang will instead be the daughters of both Tai and Summer, since Raven is a terrible mother, her and Yang will no longer have any blood relation, so their relationship will be very different.
A reboot? Only a passionate person who isn't influence easily by others would do a good job writing it. If it was just about cool fights and stuff maybe up to volume 3 was good but apart from that Rooster teeth fell and drop kick any good ideas that the first volume was trying to create. Yep, miss the 'mean look' Blake always gives.

I agree that the storytelling in this RWBY were very good but the problem is I and this is my opinion I was very up and down if I like the animation I felt like 3D would have been better and that comes from somebody that don't like 3D most of the times in anime or in any show so yeah I felt like it would have done better with 3D but again that's just my opinion people are free to tell me why I'm wrong if they want to doesn't mean I would agree though because everyone has their own opinions
I'm sorry I don't like it because it's not showing all of the fighting scene where it cuts off from one point to the next.. show it was starting.. I loved all of it by showing EVERYTHING!!!!! Especially when Blake and Sun vs Roman. Now that was awesome!!! Sigh 😔😞😔😞 even the fighting scenes with Penny were good.. after Pyrrha's death.. it wasnt good anymore.. 😒😒 I don't see that element of fighting anymore.. it's like a western movie where they fight from one point and all of a sudden they r all the way off somewhere else.. it makes no sense!!! RWBY Reboot? If only. Move RWBY to a more stable production studio. Get rid of the current writers. Redo the story, making a few fixes here and there for the first 4 or 5 volumes, while completely trashing and rewriting the most recent volumes. With emphasis on good story first, fanservice second, virtue signaling a distant third (or not at all). Tweak the current animation a little. Bring in someone who has studied Monty's work on fight choreo in the first 3 volumes, as well as his earlier works like Dead Fantasy. Get the show a decent budget. Do all that and Maayybe the show would have a chance at revival. It would still have to rebuild the fandom. Generate interest for new viewers. Ice Queendom was ...... interesting. But it lacked the feel and charm of the original show. imho, of course.
I have a full rewrite of the series in the works myself. 93 chapters just to cover V2 to V5 with the pre-Beacon to the beginning of V2 is being worked on. Got V6 coming next year. But generally it smooths out the lore, and keeps the characters in character without the retcons from later volumes warping them while both improving the plot after V3 and giving them more realistic reactions to things going on around them. Been a fun 3 years writing it so far.

Amongst the things mentioned, No RTX 2024, No money... And not a peep about RWBY V10. Not looking good for them. But then I have been calling that for a while now.

As for my rewrite, the Mistral arc is wrapping up in the next chapter. Though a friend has asked me about rewriting the movies as well. Been putting a fair amount of thought into that idea and might start it next year.

They did nothing to advance the main story. But, if you feel a burning need to redo them, don't us the JL. Use Teen Titans or Young Justice instead. May make a little more sense. Interesting, though I am one of those giving the series a full rewrite. Got about 97 chapters posted and enough plans to double that. Plus a friend asking for the movies to be rewritten so they may actually be good rather than the messes that they are.
I think everyone should give the rwby evermorrow fan series more support.

A reboot sounds fine to me, but they should keep it 3d, like maybe blending 3d with animation like makoto shinkai.

IQ2(the name would obviously change) would be V2 about Blake and her past in more detail. The Nightmare Grimm could return in some way, making the dream versions come out in the real world.
IQ3 could just be the Vytal Festival, but only like the fights we didn't see or that actually matter. In here we could see Ruby and Yang's past, with the latter even meeting Raven.

I like the Rwby evermorrow fan series, but the actual series needs to continue as it is.
I think having both the OG and a Remastered version both available is the best course of action, So it gives both groups a choice between the two. For those who are reacting to RWBY from the start of the show, It should be left up to votes on who will choose the Original or the Remastered Version. I know the older seasons can be a bit out dated compared to the rest of it especially after such a major overhaul in Volume 9. In terms of animations I think that can largely be left alone (If they can be converted over). The only thing is really being touched visually is the models and most likely the environments too and with new additional extra story too without breaking existing volumes. There is already a Volume 5 Model existing with Ruby, Wiess, Blake and Yang they don't need to do any extra work there it already exists. But we don't have any Volume 5 old version of other models, like Pyrrah, Jaune, Nora, etc.

RWBY was made by so many successful tropes but gone wrong. However it became a popular fan work. So saying it needs a reboot is like rebooting Minecraft sandbox gimmick. Downside of being a fan service, it’s not one sided or unanimous. Ice Queendom is a good example, introducing new characters, concepts and plot that could’ve been one of those side quests movies or filler. RWBY could only be fan service because RT has dug deeper in their improv series, there’s no turning back now and they got to finish it soon.

I think the series would be revived if they would remake vol 1-3 REVol 1. As I think the writers need more time to write better stories for 10 since 7-8 were lucklaster and 9 was good due to the long wait time. So during that remaking 1-3 would 100 percent increase revenue due to it being legacy seasons

@@MrLightningbob I think Monty's story died with him and RT is just trying to turn the ashes into something profitable "for the fans". The story just needs to end. It's just sad to see it still trying to be a thing and the long waiting time for them to even start the next volume.
@@geraltamberwood4567 I've been doing a rewrite of the series. From what I've been told from a friend who has a source in RT who had worked with Monty, my story follows Oum's plans better than what RT did since his passing.
Nice way to put it, V4-5 events happen mostly differently with a full White Fang civil war between Sienna and Adam's forces that leads to Mistral being attacked. And the White Fang under Adam aren't done yet either as they go northward, even if they ultimately failed in Mistral.
Plus BlackSun and other surprises.

I think that a RWBY Theatrical Series Finale Movie would be the safest option that a complete Revamp.
Maybe, if they do get to making a second season, it could take place in between Volumes 3 and 4. That way, we could potentially get to see how some of the characters deal with their grief after the Fall of Beacon. I say this because it just sometimes feels like we don't really get to see how some them grow and move past their losses much in the original show.
I feel this especially the case with Ruby. We see in Volume 3 how shaken up she is by both Penny and Pyrrha's deaths. But then in Volume 4 and forward, she acts mostly unaffected. It isn't helped we don't see how much she's truly effected until Volume 9, which is only after suffering failure after failure after failure. This somewhat changes the context then, because it's not about loss/grief in the volume but failure of one's role in the end. (Plus, if the story were utilized this way in between the third and fourth volumes, we'd also get to see more one-on-one interactions between Ruby and Tai.)
Not to mention how many others the cast knew may have died at the Fall of Beacon.
I'm just saying this would be an interesting concept to explore.

In context of volume 1 we never met anyone until volume 3 which was winter.

The art style and animation in Ice Queendom is insanely beautiful though.
It's probably good that they changed the story in Ice Queendom but they didn't make it any better or even near as good as the original.

I’ve always felt that tai was more fatherly to Yang but less so to Ruby. In my opinion Qrow should have been Ruby’s dad but hide it because of his bad luck
I wouldn’t mind a reboot. The past few volumes have been less enjoyable, especially the last one. Just kinda feels like the magic is gone. Just nothing left from the early volumes that actually drew us to the series.
The anime did do a better job for the first volume but I didn’t like how they expect you to watch the original first. Such as making the characters have better traits & not be too quirky. I prefer the sub than the dub from the original. The dub VA’s don’t feel they care about putting effort in. Meanwhile the sub you can feel their emotions in all their lines.
However I do agree that they needed a reboot after Monty did pass away after Vol 3. I hope we see more of the anime

Here's my own idea of a RWBY reboot, for example of changes Ruby and Yang will instead be the daughters of both Tai and Summer, since Raven is a terrible mother, her and Yang will no longer have any blood relation, so their relationship will be very different.
A reboot? Only a passionate person who isn't influence easily by others would do a good job writing it. If it was just about cool fights and stuff maybe up to volume 3 was good but apart from that Rooster teeth fell and drop kick any good ideas that the first volume was trying to create. Yep, miss the 'mean look' Blake always gives.
Only a complete reboot of RWBY in the hands of a Japanese Anime company can save the future of RWBY from Rooster Teeth.

I agree that the storytelling in this RWBY were very good but the problem is I and this is my opinion I was very up and down if I like the animation I felt like 3D would have been better and that comes from somebody that don't like 3D most of the times in anime or in any show so yeah I felt like it would have done better with 3D but again that's just my opinion people are free to tell me why I'm wrong if they want to doesn't mean I would agree though because everyone has their own opinions
I personally like RWBY in 3D. I go back and forth on if I prefer poser or Maya. I think it just depends on the volume and how they stylize it.

Sigh 😔😞😔😞 even the fighting scenes with Penny were good.. after Pyrrha's death.. it wasnt good anymore.. 😒😒 I don't see that element of fighting anymore.. it's like a western movie where they fight from one point and all of a sudden they r all the way off somewhere else.. it makes no sense!!! RWBY Reboot? If only.
Move RWBY to a more stable production studio. Get rid of the current writers. Redo the story, making a few fixes here and there for the first 4 or 5 volumes, while completely trashing and rewriting the most recent volumes. With emphasis on good story first, fanservice second, virtue signaling a distant third (or not at all).
Tweak the current animation a little.
Bring in someone who has studied Monty's work on fight choreo in the first 3 volumes, as well as his earlier works like Dead Fantasy.
Get the show a decent budget.
Do all that and Maayybe the show would have a chance at revival. It would still have to rebuild the fandom. Generate interest for new viewers.
Ice Queendom was ...... interesting. But it lacked the feel and charm of the original show.

I have a full rewrite of the series in the works myself. 93 chapters just to cover V2 to V5 with the pre-Beacon to the beginning of V2 is being worked on. Got V6 coming next year.
But generally it smooths out the lore, and keeps the characters in character without the retcons from later volumes warping them while both improving the plot after V3 and giving them more realistic reactions to things going on around them.
Been a fun 3 years writing it so far.

Amongst the things mentioned, No RTX 2024, No money... And not a peep about RWBY V10. Not looking good for them. But then I have been calling that for a while now.

As for my rewrite, the Mistral arc is wrapping up in the next chapter. Though a friend has asked me about rewriting the movies as well. Been putting a fair amount of thought into that idea and might start it next year.

Interesting, though I am one of those giving the series a full rewrite. Got about 97 chapters posted and enough plans to double that. Plus a friend asking for the movies to be rewritten so they may actually be good rather than the messes that they are.
