Great questions! 1. Carplay is wired, for both the Apple and Android and also uses the exact same port, which is a con. 2. It does not come with a camera, however, a few companies, such as Amazon, sells a bundle, where a recommended camera is included. Normal after market cameras will come ready to be wired. You must find a reverse trigger on the car (reverse light), a ground and the RCA would run directly to the RCA out on the back of the radio. It's labeled backup camera. 3. The radio is NOT compatible with Satellite radio, however, you can add an XM connect receiver separately and install that with this unit. I hope these answers help.

From my experience with head units in general, they do not draw constant power, if the accessory wire to the unit is not sending a 12 volt signal. If the head unit is drawing power while the vehicle is off, then the head unit may be wired incorrectly, or the head unit itself is bad. For clarification, when I say head unit, I do mean (radio).
I am looking at an install into a 1991 Mercedes 300SL which their 9" would fit better (an 8" is a more perfect look). I really like the mounting flexibility of Boss compared to Joying or Atoto but I am worried about screen brightness in the sun with the top down. Is the Boss screen bright enough (Joying in 800 nits I think)? Other concern is quality of the radio itself but you seem to think it is quite good. Does it have DSP? Thanks. Great review
The screen is fairly bright, however, I have not had the opportunity to view, or test it in direct sunlight. After using the unit for months now, it definitely has some issues, but I can't tell if it's the unit itself, or the proprietary software that enables the UI, for Apple Car and Android Auto Play. The unit does have very low level DSP, in the form of a pre installed crossover and dB controls, but other than that, there is no other DSP features. I do use a separate bass DSP and that coupled with this until gives me a nice improvement in bass quality.

My best educated guess is that the BCPA10 is an older model and that Boss changed the model number in order to track manufacturing of the two models. If I find information to make a more definitive differentiation, I will definitely post it.
Yeah it’ll play videos. You’ll have to put the parking break on though. OR, like most people just ground the parking break wire or put a toggle switch on the wire. That way you can watch videos or basically do whatever you want while the car is moving.
Does the Adroid auto/ Carplay USB Charge while connected or do you have to switch to the other usb in order to charge? Sounds like a hassle on a long road trip if youre using GPS on carplay
Can RCA be ran from this head unit back to an aftermarket amo and subwoofer I see the connectors are blue in the rear do the still act as regular sub outs?
I don't remember what the color codes for the RCA output ls, but I can assure you that this until has set, both right and left RCA outs for, front, rear and separate sub outputs. A total of 8 RCA connections, just for amplifiers. Additionally, this unit has multiple video connections for cameras and video in sources, such as a DVD player.
It depends on if the camera is 6 or 12 volts. Nissan uses a 6 volt factory camera that will burn out if you connect to an aftermarket unit. You would have to use a step down transformer to make it work.
Having this installed by a technician near me. However, the con of apple CarPlay being wired seems to be the only downfall for me. Is there an adapter or something I can purchase to install , so I can use Apple CarPlay wirelessly? Not sure if this is possible to do.

I have also noticed that the BT talk volume has its own mind, but I haven't figure out if it's user error, or an issue with the radio. I do notice that this problem doesn't seem to be an issue in Apple Car Play. I will make a video outlining issues that I've had.
You have to have a phone plugged into the USB interface cord marked Apple Play/Android Auto. This unit does not have BT Apple Car Play or Android Auto.
Yes. The easiest way to do this is download an app that will allow you to mirror the phone on your radio. For Android I use an app called AA mirror. I have not found a comparable app for IPhone that doesn't require me to jail break the phone.
@@ladyj.electronics7882 You need a HDMI to AV Converter, along with a HDMI to Lightning Adapter to connect IPhone. You can watch youtube. Basically it is mirroring your IPhone. Quality is decent. Definitely viewable. Each component needs to be powered. It's not difficult but you need to plan it out.

BE10ACP is the BOSS Elite version, which features HD 1080p, if I’m not wrong, display. BCPA10 is the standard version with a SD display.

My volume button just stopped working . Any idea what the problem is or fix for it ?
How long does it take to boot up?
Only a few seconds. In my opinion, boot time is reasonable for a unit of this size.
