Yes, I provide child custody psychological evaluations, psychological evaluations for restraining orders, as well as court-ordered evaluations for CPS cases. Each case is different and I answer the legal questions.
Somewhere I saw that "criminal psychologists" (possibly the writer meant forensic psychologists since I understand you're saying that's the correct term) work at police stations? True?
I do not know of any psychologists that work at police stations. That is something television has portrayed, but not something I have seen in real life. As a forensic psychologist I can be contracted to provide critical incident debriefings or provide psychological evaluations- but I've never had a police department fund this. The court or a lawyers typically retain me- but I've never been called a criminal psychologist. I think it's an outdated term. My clients are referred to as defendants- not criminals. Does that clarity what you are asking?
What job are you seeking? If you want to be a psychologist you need to be a licensed doctor under the Board of Psychology (BOP). In the U.S. follow the steps outlines in the BOP in your state. It typically requires a doctorate in clinical psychology and you can get your forensic training in your practicum and pre and post doctoral placements.
Looks like that light is hurting your eyes..
It burns!! Too much screen time!
