A personal pet peeve from the magic world that I think carries over here. If you are in the building and not part of the show while the show is going on, BE A GOOD AUDIENCE MEMBER!! I've seen more than my fair share of jerks who do magic (usually badly) show up at shows I'm performing at and start loudly telling their friends how tricks are done or they start doing tricks for their friends to try and get themselves some attention while those of us paid to be there are working. There are words for these people...none of which I would ever use at a Chikara show.
My experience with concert photography would agree with these tips. This is useful for all live events. You never know when you’ll be given an opportunity to shine so always be prepared.
I kind of wish it was that way but a lot of the shows I've gone to they don't wanna have any other help they want things done their way. I also want to note I do pack an extra shirt also always where black to an event. Twice it payed off but as I said above many shows around me just want things done and others seem to be a bother.
My first "true" independent match only came my way because I brought my gear to an event where someone failed to show. Has this ever happened to you? I wanna hear, below!
I was asked to ring announce, showed up to the show in a suit, just to be told they actually needed a ref. The one time I made the mistake of not bringing all the gear. Never again.
I’m not a pro wrestler, (maybe one day) but if I were one, all of Quacks videos would help so much Hell. These videos help me in my day to day at work. I’ve become more productive and proactive there because of the videos he makes and shares. A++ stuff. (Huge fan for a very long time, just was too shy to comment)
Great video! This is something I've never heard anyone talk about before. Especially when it comes to making yourself available but being proactive at the same time.
I only found this channel yesterday and I've already watched over 30 of these videos, they are fantastic, really useful information, I hope you keep making them 👍
Also, if you don't know how to do something, DON'T VOLUNTEER TO DO IT. I've seen kids mess with the ratchet straps under the ring and the ropes without knowing what to do. Which could kill you. Unlikely, but possible. Or twist the speaker stands from red to green (we all know the kind) with the speaker still on it...
U should do the same video but those who are in it for the fans and being proactive in the wrestling show aspect. Im sure most of your viewers goals are to be the athletes in the ring.. Wrestling etiquette sure has gotten soft sincebthe growth in small indies
I was taught to introduce myself with whichever name you want to be addressed with and do so consistently. Apparently, at least around here, it doesn't matter much if it's your real name or wrestling name.
@@harelchen13 I agree with Nicky. I also appreciate things like "Hi, I'm Robert, I wrestle as Ultra Magnus." or something akin to that, as opposed to when some random dude walks up, looks me in the eye and states "I'm Ultra Magnus."
you have said you produced events? have you ever produced an event that had the late great Axl Rotten on it? or the late great New Jack? And I bet it was the Ultimate Warrior that was no showing events.

I've asked people to leave my events for this exact sort of offense. It displays a complete lack of class.

By logic I'd always have my gear at the ready + Being there to promote never hurts. Merch table duty too. Help around, help with the ring. Something.

My partner actually got his first match because he was driving me there and they were one guy short. So it's always worth it!
This video is gold
Thanks, Adam!

Right on, Ryan - thanks!
I'm definitely going to invest the money in your book

Man, even if they don't kill you they'll still mess you up if one comes flying toward your body. I've seen what happens, it isn't fun!
What about wearing the suit n' tie instead of packing it?
I think you need to know the place you're going before making that decision.
Who was the female wrestler he was talking about?

Hot debate in my room - when you are not there to perform do you introduce yourself to other wrestlers using your real name or your wrestling name? 🤔

@@NickyFoxley thanks, that makes sense

I have my gear for events I wouldn't mind being on , other than that, I wont bring it.
