I remember I used to cry myself to sleep with this song back when I was in school. I was bullied for 8 years and it seemed like the suffering would never end but it did. I felt a weight lift off of me when I graduated and Uni was a fresh start. It's amazing how much I've grown: I found the career I love (Psychology) and I'm graduating on 2020, I now have some very supportive and loving friends but most importantly I found myself and I started loving me as I am. And I couldn't be any happier of what I have achieved so far and I have so many plans for the future. So to whoever is reading this, keep holding on, you can do it, any hardships you're going through you can get over if you believe in yourself and let those who care about you help you along the way. I believe in you 💕

He is now grown up and has a baby of his own he just started a new job and he is happier than I've ever seen him. Congratulations on finding your career and on graduating. I'm glad that you were able to push through and keep going. When things get tough I listen to this song and believe me today I need it the most. I don't even know you but I'm very proud of you for overcoming the bullying and all the pain you suffered you prove them all wrong and you are a success.

The past 3 years have literally been hell living with a man who doesn't love me, care about me, or want me around anymore... after 21 years of what I thought was a good marriage until he started playing mind games with me. Feeling isolated in a town knowing more people I've known my entire life. After 3 years of severe depression, finally half of that spent in counseling and on meds, I will have my silver lining. I will be closer to my grandchildren who "do" love me. It will still be difficult walking away from someone I've loved deeply for 22 years and constantly cry over... sometimes for 3-4 days. But eventually... with God's help... I "will" heal. Unfortunately, I have also learned "not" to trust. I was made to believe everything was my fault. I was the only one ever apologizing. No more! Emotional abuse is tougher than physical abuse to heal from (I grew up in domestic violence) and the scars are deeper. The first time I heard this song, I knew it would be my future anthem. No matter how hard it is to leave behind someone you have loved more than life itself, there comes a time when you have to let them have their freedom and allow yourself to have peace.

I am 44 years old now and look better than i ever have but nobody wants me. I am so alone and feeling used. most days i just wish i could die.

I, too, was in numerous car accidents and was unable to keep up with him as an athlete. I am now on disability. But I still craved affection and intimacy. However, after finding out he was a narcissist and never loved me from the beginning, he was ready to throw me away like trash. I still deal with depression and PTSD due to psychological abuse, but I am so much better off without him. And you will be too. Don't forget... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL & WORTHY! I felt I had lost my whole foundation an reason for living, it has just now taken me a whole year to somewhat come out of the fog of losing him. My heart still aches with pain an in many ways my head still believes he will walk threw the door an surprise me at any moment, even thought I know isn't going to happen. This song rocks me at my core. It brings me memories of my little brothers and little sister. They are beautiful, clever, kind children. My father and his wife cut me out of their lives when I was 14 after I broke down due to witnessing their abusive relationship. I am twenty now and I have never met my five year old sister. I miss my siblings more than anything, but this song reminds me there is hope that one day I might hold my siblings not only in my heart but in my arms, where they belong.

I wish you courage. I spent from the ages of 4 to 19 away from my dad. I met most of my siblings when I was 19, on my baby sister's 2nd birthday. One of the best decisions I ever made was driving down the road to see them once I was out of my mom's house.
I went through a time like that recently...after a breakup with a guy I truly loved. It was really tough on me. And when this song says "down the road the sun is shining" I just keep thinking back to a few months ago when I still cared so much...but, "every cloud has a silver lining" and thats so true because I met someone that makes me happier than I've ever been before. I wish you courage. I spent from the ages of 4 to 19 away from my dad. I met most of my siblings when I was 19, on my baby sister's 2nd birthday. One of the best decisions I ever made was driving down the road to see them once I was out of my mom's house.
I went through a time like that recently...after a breakup with a guy I truly loved. It was really tough on me.
