Hi, I’m encountering an issue with my model in HEC-RAS 6.5 and would appreciate your input. My model has several 2D regions connected by SA/2D connections and includes some structures. The model keeps crashing intermittently with two errors: 'HDF5-DIAG: Error detected in HDF5 (1.8.11) thread 0:' and 'fortl: server (157): Program Exception - access violation.' To troubleshoot, I added the regions one by one and ran the model after each addition. Everything worked fine until I included the red area (Reservoir), after which the errors began appearing. I initially suspected that the issue might be related to the SA/2D connections or boundary conditions (set to normal depth), but I didn’t find anything unusual. Strangely, when I reverted to the old geometry (excluding the Reservoir) that had worked previously, the same errors appeared, even though no changes were made. I’ve also tried running the model on HEC-RAS 6.4.1, but I encountered the same errors. I cleaned up my system, leaving only version 6.5 installed, but the issue persists. I would greatly appreciate any guidance you could offer on resolving this issue.
This is one of most helpful lecture on HEC RAS 2D modelling. Thank you.
You're welcome. Thank you
