Trying my best to do it justice
Just shows some vehicles paint work can not be saved by detailing. Great to see you try and see the methods. Happy you are still saving this classic VW and doing a full Windows out paint job. Then, a quick spray over. Look forward to seeing the skills again, by the paint team. With the factory black paint colour and you guys detailing afterwards. Then the new built engine.
We have come too far to give up, besides Dave & Tim wouldn’t let me do a quick tosh over even if I wanted to.
Looks & sounds like it's time for a repaint on that MK1 !

The silver stripe is original. Black GTI had the twin stripes at the bottom, the silver stripe under the belt line trim and a silver stripe at the bottom of the taligate. No black vinyl around the rear window either
James has the skills but will the paint play ball ,fingers crossed the team at auto finesse can hopefully bring some of the magic back 🤞🤟🇩🇪
If it's black you won't have the black sticker around the boot lid, they put it on every other colour on the GTi just not the black one as there is no point. Biggest way to tell straight of the back

Baffled by this video took 5 machines to come to the conclusion the paint was done and wouldn’t be saved, but at least it’s an honest video, paint machine polish the paint work ceramic coat then air bags fitted looking forward to this one

See I told you it was black ,it was just all those years under a blue Berry tree 🌳 🤟 ,sad you couldn't save the original paint but at least this way it will be spectacular, and will most definitely be the best mk1 Golf GTI in the country ❤️🇩🇪🤟
The best is yet to come Shane, I’ve got a trick up my sleeve later on with this little car, just you wait and see what we plan to do with it in the end 😮

Tbh I think the car is worth a full top level respray. It's so straight and looks rust free once it's painted it will be one of the best mk1's out there, crying shame we don't have the original matching numbered block.

Surely this is a wind up about this black/blue thing. All the door shuts etc are black, all the weathered paint looks blue. Theres no way a professional detailer was really this confused over the real colour.
