I just received my Edelmann Elite 3015 for my 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ today and there is a stud/nut that is included in the little bag that contains the line fitting seals. What is this stud/nut for?
Because if you don't disconnect them they will pull the steering gear out of center trying to get back to straight, resulting in the alignment tech not adjusting toe and instead just adjusting the center link resulting in the wheels being centered but not the gear.

Why not just jack up the front end and have the wheels off the ground instead of removing tie-rods ?
