And the comments were so cruel. Like I get comedy is suggestive, but I feel there needs to be a limit somewhere. Shamelessly mocking a girl who’s happy to be twinning with her sister just bc she’s different I think crossed that line. Just made me sad.
The music combined with her smile made my heart melt, ngl. The comments on insta ruined the mood a bit, but they're known for trying to outdo each other in terms of outragousness and cruelty so I wasn't surprised.

I remember seeing the original clip for the hairdresser one. It's a matter of neurodivergency and she was just asking to make the person feel more comfortable. Yes, contact is necessary for the hairdresser, this is just a bit extra for those who struggle with touch.

@@LordSam420 Right so they don’t come out of the urethra, they come out of the butthole. I was younger at the time so my peen was a bit smaller. I felt tingling and itching on the shaft for a while and then my foreskin became very itchy. I ran to the toilet and I see a small white thing moving around. I almost died in that moment. It had climbed from my butt and nestled under. Luckily I got meds the next day and I was fine-ish. They came back for a bit and then left again. However, pin worms are VERY common in children.

I do understand others point of views they aren’t looking at what’s underneath. The hairdresser deals with clients that have mental trauma from situations they could not control. Her asking them for permission give them control of a situation that would otherwise been taken away from them. 8:59

I have PTSD myself and didn't realise this was the clients that hairdresser takes, even when I saw another comment I was still confused about the part of her asking permission because it's a given she will be touching your hair-But this comment you replied to explains why she does it perfectly, and I'm now realising how that little extra care would very likely make me feel much more at ease.

The point of the hairdresser asking to touch you isn’t because of a need for consent but so the person feels more comfortable with their autonomy and actual feels like they have the choice to speak up or take a break if they need it or don’t like what’s being done to their hair asking for that consent opens that communication

Asking for permission to touch someone in the hairdressers is so so important and for people who have suffered traumatic abuse throughout their life. And you don't know who has, so asking everyone makes a huge difference. Lot's of people have been waterboarded by abusive partners for example and they struggle on the daily to TOUCH THEIR OWN BODY near running water because they have full blown ptsd. I know that you find some things silly but I also know that you seem like a good person. I hope you continue to learn and be mindful of things like this , because it really does happen and nothing gets done about it

this is the same for me as an autistic person. being asked makes it feel like a have control over the situation and that we can stop at anytime if i get overwhelmed or uncomfortable
but like you don't go just to sit on the chair you go to get your hair cut so there is already implied consent.

I truly hope your mom is one of the lucky few that can get through it. Everyone is different but one thing my mom got tired of was ppl sayin youre strong youll beat this or get through this. When she was terrified, but felt like she had to act ok for everyone. All i can say is just talk with her honestly about how she feels and if theres anything you need to say or want to say then do. You may not get another chance. Hopefully she pulls through. Take care.

It's not about consent, people aren't stupid. It's about feeling like you have control over the situation. More or less of a warning "I'm gonna touch you now, don't freak out" kind of thing, which is very helpful for people who are somehow disabled (such as autistic people) or for people who have experienced trauma and they're still healing (like people who experienced SA recently)@@kirikakirikakirika

The worm part is true, I never had worms but when I was a child my mom had a book for injuries/health for kids. And there were a part in the book where it had mentioned rings in the 🍑 and in order to see the worms in the 🍑 the parents would have to use a flashlight to see them and usually you can 😭
Especially at night, they are indeed active at night and usually you can see them moving with a flashlight

That doesn't mean they wont have a panic attack from it either. You can be as prepared as you think you can, but at the end of the day, if you have been neurologically disturbed or are on the spectrum of ADHD or Autism, you still can have unexpected meltdowns. Its very common.
My personal example-
Every building I go into have fire alarms, and I know that often many places have fire alarm drills. I can be as expected as I want to- but I still panic bc of serious PTSD correlated with said sounds
@Greenhawk4 yes I know but I myself am autistic and I don't like it when someone touches me suddenly. I don't mind if they ask first but if it's sudden it makes me extremely uncomfortable and it's like that for many people

@Greenhawk4 the easiest way to explain it is imagine if some random person just came up to you and I don't know hugged you or touched the back of your neck to an autistic person or a person with ptsd it's equivalent to that
