It’s quite fascinating how we can use certain musical concepts instinctively for years without knowing the official terminology. Discovering the terms like "slash chords" not only enriches our understanding but also opens up new avenues for learning and creativity.
Slash chords, as you've now discovered, are a wonderful tool for adding depth and color to music, especially in genres like black gospel where they can significantly enhance the harmonic landscape. If you're looking to dive deeper into slash chords, exploring their use in different contexts can be incredibly rewarding. For instance, understanding how they can transition between sections of a song or how they can be used to reharmonize melodies offers a vast area for creative exploration.
I encourage you to experiment with different slash chords in your playing. Try incorporating them into songs you already know, or use them to create unique arrangements of familiar hymns and choruses. This hands-on approach can be very enlightening.
If you have any specific questions about slash chords or wish to see more examples of their application in various songs, feel free to let me know. I'm here to help and look forward to assisting in your musical journey.
Thanks again for watching and for your eagerness to learn more. Happy playing!
