I ordered This Is Thirteen from the Anvil website Monday and got the CD Friday and I will tell you this, you will not be disappointed. I'm 44 and played it for my Metallica listening little brother (who is 30) and he was completely blown away. So I dug out my "Metal on Metal" record and Venom "Black Metal" and made him listen. I said "brother this ain't your Metallica crap this is hardcore metal the real fuckin deal !" So I have converted one youngster who realizes that older brother is a god.
Anvil should be an inspiration to music artists everywhere, metal or not. They're messgae is a strong one- if you have a dream, go after it. No matter what people tell you, no matter how unsuccessful you are, if you want to keep carrying on and trying, then you do. Fucking legends.
These guys are awesome! & as a fellow Canadian & metal head these dudes have given me more inspiration as a musician,& being 35 now I feel I've lost my dream,I know 35 is young but I've been trying to make it for 20 years & I'm not gonna give up! I had to give up my dream of making it to the NHL because of a bad car accident & 35 is considered near the end of your career in hockey terms,but I'm proud at what I achieved in hockey playing for the London Knights of the OHL & Pensacola Ice Pilots o
anvil is one of the greatest metal bands ever none of that sore throat crap here this is the kind of metal i love the old school bands that dont sell out playing whats popular at the time just to make money rock on anvil
Bout Shit when I saw the promo for this movie! I NEVER forgot about ANVIL!!! Blood On The Ice!...Forged In Fire! Are you kidding me??? I always thought ANVIL was apart of the forefathers of speed/thrash metal??!! Horns Ups....this is awesome!
I just hope the guys dont get screwed on this movie!! Movie alone should make them millionaires!! Not that they care I just would hate they get screwed!!

Wonderful film, sure... but great band? um, well, I feel I can comment because I actually bought their best album, "Metal on Metal", when it came out and... Anvil are not a very good band. Period. They got heart. And they deserve any attaintion the movie gives them, but they got blown away by Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Maiden, Priest, Dio, and by the way, there were other bands that shoulda made it but didnt... Riot, Sword (Canada) and Saxon... anvil are kings of cheese but I do feel sorry4em
