Hi lily, did you breakout from SKIN1004 cleansing oil too? I've bought them already because of your recommendation, but with this video I'm afraid to use it now.. Please help, and thank you ❤
Honestly, Using these “pore clogging ingredient detectors” was my biggest mistake lmao. I couldn’t use some of the best products because a site said that salt is a “comedogenic” ingredient 💀 these are getting out of hand tbh. Not even a scientist can predict how a product is gonna work just by reading the ingredient list.
honestly i think there is a fine line. i always check my products but then i do the research on the alleged comedogenic ingredient(s). i was able to find out what product gave me closed comedones (la roche possay medicated gel cleanser- it has a sulphate) and i wouldn't have known just by reading the ingredient list. of course, you can always just try to product and see how your skin reacts but for many people with sensitive skin that can be really irritating and even harder to fix. of course, even ingredients like shea butter are labeled as comedogenic when for many people, it's no issue. these ingredient checkers are meant to be used as a tool, not a be all end all
That breaks me out, simply cleansing oil isn't for anyone, every cleansing oil breaks me no matter what I try 😢 Micellar water is better for those like me, even if the cotton pad irritated my skin 😅
@@zaizafunsahir8303 Cleansing balm and cleansing oil are the same. Are the oils, fragrances and pore clogging ingredients that breaks us with sensitive skin 😔
A lot of the list is determined by testing individual ingredients on rabbit ears. Michelle from Lab Muffin Beauty is a cosmetic chemist who has talked about the concept of "comedogenic" ingredients.
I feel the algorithm sends us to the same UA-cam spaces because I see you pretty regularly! And agreed, Lab Muffin's video is great and details why comodogenic ratings are incredibly faulty
I never breakout from oil cleansing, it’s the one thing that leaves my skin feeling smooth & silky. I always make sure I double cleanse with mild cleanser, rinse off all the oils used. I have combo/oily acne prone skin btw.
I have the same skin type and I’ve been using the Anua Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil for some months cuz the blackheads on my nose cause it to become so oily and greasy. Are you willing to share what products are you using? I’m tired of breaking out so bad😢
yes if you thoroughly removing the oil and makeup with soap after there’s not reason for anyone to break out. That’s def not supposed to stay on your face.
@@xia_10 you can try Skin 1004 cleansing oil, I had used this prior to using Anua cleasing oil. Just make sure to double cleanse after using oil products
Pro-tip: research how to mix your own oil cleanser. If all you need is oil for the cleansing, just buy your own oils. No fragrances or etc etc that may be what’s irritating your skin in particular. For example, a mix of castor oil and jojoba oil is a commonly recommended oil mix for cleansing. Look up “oil cleansing method” and there are guides online of how to experiment with finding the oils and ratios that work best for your particular skin. When I was doing it, I rinsed well with water as in this video and then used a very soft washcloth to gently wipe away any excess from my face, focusing especially on my hairline and perimeter of my face where it was hardest to thoroughly remove it. I was getting cystic acne from over-dry skin and couldn’t use soaps, so I did not follow with a soap cleanser to take the last of the oil off. I stopped breaking out when I just used oil cleansing and a lightweight moisturizer (at the time I was using Aveeno’s standard/original moisturizer). Currently I use The Ordinary’s squalane cleanser, and Tony Moly’s “I’m rice” cleanser every other day. I moisturize with a base of Thayer’s rose petal Witch Hazel toner (it has no alcohol in it), then massage on 2-3 drops of hyaluronic acid (I get mine from The Ordinary), then I pat on a small amount of The Ordinary “natural moisturizing factors + HA” lotion. I follow the advice to rub it together first in my hands for 10 seconds until it fully melts or whatever. I just use like a 1 cm stripe of lotion on my fingertip and then rub it together in my palms and pat on my face.
Myristic acid breaks me out in spots and clogged pores. Discovered this after using the Illiyoon ato ceramide cream, I was getting breakouts on my forehead and cheeks, their lotion has it too. Tried it a few times and it always happens. I confirmed it was myristic acid and at least one derivative, isopropyl myristate, when I used my friends numbuzin cleansing oil for a week and got so many clogged pores, it was the second ingredient. It’s in so many things as an emulsifier! I checked all my stuff and it’s in my curel oil cleanser, I’ve been using it around 2 years and was wondering why I have so many comedones even though I’m using tret 😢 it’s low down on the ingredients list. It’s in the kose softymo speedy oil cleanser too. It’s also in the some by me aha bha pha body wash and the byoma smoothing body serum, both things I’ve been using because of body acne but actually have been making it worse. I used the byoma 2-3 times a week for a month and ended up pimples in places I never had before, like my lower arms and near the inside of my upper arms 😭 It’s even in a curl balm I have!! I’m just trying to avoid all myristic acid derivatives and I’m hoping I’ve no issues with other fatty acids and alcohols. I know not all ingredients are clogging for everyone but checkers like this can be useful for figuring out what in a product is causing an unusual breakout/clogging. If you’re having issues with tretinoin creams it could be that it contains isopropyl myristate, gels won’t have this
Personally I use cleansing balms, I feel like they’re easier to manage since they only become oily once you rub it in and I think they do a better job of breaking down makeup than cleansing oils without rubbing it in too much But that probably depends on the cleansing balm as well
Bought it yesterday and used it an hour after I bought it (went to a birthday party and wore makeup and realized while I was there that I ran out of oil cleanser so I had to make a pit stop at Target on the way home lol) and I really loved it! Very lightweight and it removed even my 2 coats of MAC Stack mascara 💕
If you don't exfoliate your skin properly and frequently with products containing ingredients like aha, there'll be a lot of build up in your pores. Then using cleansing oil without emulsifying properly, which can be tricky to do it right all the time, it'll trigger your skin causing acnes. If you aren't professional, better be safe and use micellar cleansing water + cleansing foam. My dermatologist recommend SVR water which cleanses very well without stripping your skin, and Maybelline eye lip remover.
Me too! Try to stop any product that might be the cause for it , and try to relax your skin by doing nothing to it and let it dry for a few days. This is what I did, my skin type is normal. Don’t over wash your skin be balanced.
If I look at a cleansing oil in the bottle for too long, my face will break out. Ponds cold cream once a week to get rid of the sebaceous filaments works great. Massage all over face lightly, for about 5-10 minutes before showering. I also use it for quick makeup removal. Yes my grandmother used it too. Oh there's a reason it's still around. To wash, I use either a dot of Lancôme Radience cleanser ($30 for tube, but you truly only need a single drop) or Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Cleansing Face Scrub (about $7). The Neutrogena is great if you have a breakout, or you're aging. The beta hydroxy helps with both. You may need some time to adjust to the hydroxy if your skin isn't used to it, so don't leave it on very long at first and if it leaves you a little red, skip some days in between. It actually leaves a slight moisturizer effect. The Lancôme is great for getting your face squeaky clean, so you can apply moisturizer if you need it.
I used to have this cleasing oil. The reason I stopped is because the bottle kept coming in with a damaged pump. It wasn't just once. It was three differnet bottles with three different purchases. The pump itself wasn't broken off. The pumps were defective. Each pump that came out that spout also went down the pump stem. Eventually the bottle itself had cleansing oil all around it. A great tip is to always use a water based cleanser after an oil cleanser. It washes any leftover cleasing oil that can cause breakouts.
Washing your hands before even doing the first step of your skincare is important and something I need to be better about building a habit for. I guess a part of me assumes my hands will get clean in the process of handling the cleansers but the bacteria and gunk your hands can get exposed to isn't exactly the same as what your face can get exposed to, so hand washing is important.
An underrated cleanser is the purito from green cleansing oil. It's perfect for all skin types especially sensitive skin. I follow up with the from green deep foaming cleanser. I have easily irritated skin and I've never had any irritation or breakouts from them.

uh, no. everyone's skin reacts differently to all ingredients, not to mention a lot of the ingredients tend to change properties when combined with other things. some people can used pure coconut oil as moisturizer and not have any breakouts while others breakout from using the same pillow for a week. and not to mention i have yet to see a cleansing oil/balm on the market that emulsifies enough to not leave a slight greasy feeling behind after rinsing. this category of product just still needs more work in order to work for more people
What if we found 1-2 ingredients of clogging pore in our skincare or makeup We could continue using it or avoid any of ingredients that lead to clogging?
It’s different for everyone. The product that causes me skin problems is yes, cleansing oils. But it’s mostly because some of them just don’t emulsify well, even more so if paired with very mild 2nd cleanser. Happened to me with Kose softy mo deep cleansing oil (the yellow orange variant) and our local brand, Mary Elizabeth R.

Guys, use almond oil. It’s cheap and amazing for so many different uses. I use it both to melt my makeup before going in with a cleanser and as the last step of my skincare routine after my moisturiser is absorbed… it literally completely changed my skin for the best
I had oily skin my whole life but nowadays its a bit dry and only oily on the nose area. My pores are very clogged due to the usage of coconut oil. Now i am very confused cause i feel like i have combination skin. Should i get this cleansing oil or something else?
I followed you on all platforms 🥰🥰 i really need this oil because my skin is so sensitive and breaks out so easily. Im almost 16 and still have bad acne while everyone at school has clear skin and im so insecure of it😭 i hope the giveaway hasn’t closed
Best tip from me: cleanse your face in the shower. Preapply oil based cleanser then wash it off when youre showering. Then do the water based cleanser.
Most of the ladies out there don't realize that they can simply use any natural oil like coconut oil, almond oil or even olive oil to clean the make up of their faces. Not only they're efficient, these oils are risk free and keep your skin hydrated.
huh I disagree with you but we can't all use the same oils, in my case I can't use coconut oil or olive oil or almond oil because I break out easily and I get a lot of blackheads and pimples obviously.
It really doesn't proof anything cause pore clogging ingredients are only pore clogging after a certain percentage , most products will have something thats bad for the skin but the website doesnt ask for the amount used in that product . People even says that old gen sunscreen filters and parabens are harmful for your skin but it's only harmful if used in a higher percentage.
OMGGG I NEED THIS! this is the first time i've had a really bad breakout and at first i didn't know why, but when i found out it was all because of my cleansing balm, i was confused about how to restore my facial skin, i was very stressed BUT GURRLLL thank you so much, i'll try this tips❤❤❤
Wipe off the excess oil before going in with a good cleanser does it for me. That’s advise from my friend who was shown that by her Korean mom-in-law. Make sure you go in with a good lotion or cream afterwards because can be drying to the face.
That’s the cleansing oil I use and it’s sooo good, it’s never broken me out personally. My bottle has lasted for ages even though I use it pretty much every night
I advice to check for Tocopherol in your skincare products too as a lot of people are allergic to it. If I apply anything with this on a face even for like 15 mins it gives me a nasty allergic dermatitis infection and my skin breaks into hives.
My skin started breaking out (nose area) after i started using Centella cleansing oil or maybe cause of Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Dark Spot Correcting Serum (I started them around same time 😢). Will this cleansing oil work for combination skin? Or maybe should i change other products?
Just so everyone is aware, the packaging for this cleansing oil sucks in some batches, I got a bottle and every time I pumped it it squirted from under the nozzle and spilled/leaked everywhere

Omg these are what i did wow so that's why my oil cleanser not breaks my skin anymore! ❤❤
What is that application or that web you used in the background to identify the correct ingredients for your skin?
just search in google "pore clogger checker tool". Select the one from Natural acne clinic1
Iunik Cleansing Oil- The green one 💚
Can u share the app u use for checking ingredients in skin care products
Wipe off the excess oil before going in with a good cleanser does it for me. That’s advise from my friend who was shown that by her Korean mom-in-law. Make sure you go in with a good lotion or cream afterwards because can be drying to the face.
Hi lily, did you breakout from using skin1004 cleansing oil too? And how long does one bottle last for? Thank you ❤
That’s the cleansing oil I use and it’s sooo good, it’s never broken me out personally. My bottle has lasted for ages even though I use it pretty much every night
@@MimiG2414 tysm for the reply Mimi, lily told me that too that it's not the one that caused her breakout. Glad to know that it last long too hehe
I advice to check for Tocopherol in your skincare products too as a lot of people are allergic to it. If I apply anything with this on a face even for like 15 mins it gives me a nasty allergic dermatitis infection and my skin breaks into hives.
Wait a sec, do any of you use a cleanser after using a cleansing oil? Bc I think that would stop the breakouts…..
Thank you for sharing your knowledge😍👍
I love this cleansing oil, I think it's my second time buying this ❤
What's the tool or website she's talking about that checks whether the product has comedogenic ingredient or not??
Following on ticktock and insta, never used oil cleansers so I can't wait to try this oil cleanser
A really good cleansing BALM that I use is the elf one! I swear it works amazing for me and my unsolvable acne! I rlly recommend it!
I rarely wear makeup and only basic skincare + sunscreen to start my day. Does i still need to use cleansing oil or cleansing balm?
Banila Co cleasing balm the Pink one is safe
This helped me a lot. I got rid of all the products after this.thank you🫶🏻
This helps me soo much! Thank you for sharing!
It contains canola oil, which is highly comedogenic (4).
Incidecoder uses the comedogenic rating scale (0-5) and it's possible you broke out for some other reason besides blocked pores
I mostly use TikTok compared to instagram so I followed both on TikTok! Love your content ❤
Thanks ❤️
It's a great advice for a oily skin type person like me
I subscribed on tiktok. Your tips are really helpful
Tips for double cleansing/oil cleansing in a shower?
Thank you for the tip!❤❤
Is it better than the manyo cleanser
My skin started breaking out (nose area) after i started using Centella cleansing oil or maybe cause of Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Dark Spot Correcting Serum (I started them around same time 😢). Will this cleansing oil work for combination skin? Or maybe should i change other products?
What link or app for the ingredients?
I cleanse with a gentle, foamy cleanser after using my cleansing oil. It's such a great double cleanse and my skin looks better than ever❤
Btw you look so pretty!!! ❤❤❤
Just so everyone is aware, the packaging for this cleansing oil sucks in some batches, I got a bottle and every time I pumped it it squirted from under the nozzle and spilled/leaked everywhere
The ANUA cleansing oil had pore clogging ingredients, but it really helps me with blackheads
I only use cleansing oils or balms to remove waterproof makeup and wash my face after to remove and oily residue
I use centella cleansing oil from skin1004. No breakouts although I have acne prone and oily skin. Just follow it with mild cleansing foam. My skin actually feels smoother with oil cleanser
