I like Cato's. They have stuff you can wear to work. I'm disabled now so I don't work but when I did, that's where I'd buy my clothes for work. I also shop Walmart. They have a brand called George. I like their sleepwear and their tops and skirts. Target, as you've mentioned and I like to shop the sale rack at the Big Dept stores. Macy's, Dillards, Rich's (ATL), Nordstrom Rack, Penney's. They all have great sales and nice clothes for work.

I shop the super sales at Lane Bryant. Between a really good sale and a rewards certificate, I got a really cute $70 jumpsuit for $15. Winning! And I totally agree about the air conditioning thing with sweaters. I have summer sweaters too. The only one that I wasn’t crazy about was the oatmeal short sleeve. With the off white/oatmeal top, it looked like you were nude from the waist up. It needs a pop of color. Just a thought.

Maybe it's because these are Torrid plus (which tend to be cut generously in the booty) but I almost feel like they're too much booty coverage - so no wedgies whatsoever! Not that anyone sees your booty wearing them..... lol. I'm going to stop while I'm ahead. 😂 This could go sideways fast!
If you have a DD's discount near you check it out. They are like ross but I've found a lot more there that I liked than at Ross and they seem to be even cheaper. Of course, most of the things you'll find aren't exactly quality but for the price they are great. And I have even found torrid, lane bryant, target, and forever 21 pieces there! Every location is different so if you have a few check each one out.

So many cute tops for your wardrobe. Here is one of my fave places that surprised me for plus...Walmart! The key is to stick to in house brands (Time and Tru is my fave). They have limited choices, so I check back regularly, but without fail their clothes are higher quality than Target (more on par with Old Navy). I also shop clearance Lane Bryant (and Torrid) regularly. Blessings.

I have 3 more of those bralettes on order now. I got so annoyed with bra straps falling down, and with plus size bras having ugly straps that were not cute showing under a tank top or cami... so I tried a racerback bralette and now I think they're the best thing ever invented. I didn't think they'd have enough support but as long as I don't go jogging, it's plenty. And no more straps falling down! And they're cute! And they're like wearing nothing (almost!)
I love most of those outfits. The pink lace top/ outfit was my favorite. I never seem to find much at Torrid. I love Walmart online they have a great plus size line, and they don’t look cheap, don’t always last forever but for the price who care. Style’s never last that long.

I get tees, knit shorts, knit capris at Walmart... basically my around the house wardrobe. I like Walmart's 2pc PJ sets too. My go out tees are usually from Target. QVC I get nicer, go out capris from their Denim & Co. line. I have 2 of the denim half elastic waist capris and 3 in the colored no pockets half elastic waist (black, navy & brown). And I've worn a washed these a lot & no fading. HSN, I don't have a staple brand, but I find cute tops or light weight coverings. Last thing I bought were 2 embroidered kimonos to wear over tanks in the summer. 6pm.com has a piece here & there. And Tjmaxx is were I usually get jeans & black slacks. JCPenney's is another good site to shop for plus. I bought my last wool blend coat from them & that worked out well.
I love the longer cardigans, especially the periwinkle one. :) All the black tank tops too were so cute. I especially liked the one with the gold buttons down the front. Oh God I remember all the bodysuits I wore way back when! They were an absolute pain when using the bathroom. That and jumpsuits! :-O Lol! I have a makeup question...have you ever done any reviews or GRWM using Juvia's Place eye shadows? I just ordered a couple of their mini palettes and they're gorgeous! Have you ever shopped on Zulilly? They're constantly changing their inventory so I can go for a while and not find anything I like but then sometimes I find a ton. You have to check the size chart on everything though. The different brands all run different sizing.

karen jones one thing that I absolutely love about northern summers. The cool nights... and it’s not as deadly hot and humid as Florida. That’s some thick heat.
LOL I hear ya on the Oz!! I'm trying to avoid turning on the AC because it's going to cool off for a while in a couple days, and I feel like once I turn on the AC it's on for the rest of the summer. So I am resisting! I'll be thinking, "Yeah this is fine!" while I'm at the computer, until I get up and actually do something! 😂
Geek Out of Water we have one of those old time attic fans. I keep it on and it helps keep the house cool. Sometimes I shut it down it gets so cold. But it’s on from 10am till around 12am when it’s hot. Helps soo much!
First of all, I love your haul! You look great, loved the heart shape top and the lilac one. I think going a size up is better. I prefer flows to hide my flaws. I don’t know if torrid is sold in Canada. Never saw it. We have joe fresh clothing store and I would suggest that. I have cardigans but most purchased from Marshall’s. They are 3/4 sleeves and perfect for my height. I’m working from home now, so I don’t have to worry about the AC.
There are some Torrid stores in Canada, although I Think they are just beginning to open stores here. We had one open here in Winnipeg about a year ago.
Oh I remember summers back east. Ouch! I’m a fall and winter girl, thank you very much! We hit 72 today here and I couldn’t be happier. We get a few weeks here in the 80s and maybe a handful of 90 plus days but I stay hidden when that happens. 😂. You look so wonderful in the tops. I really love the black tanks with graphics. These videos are very helpful, especially love your style! Do you find Torrid runs smaller or pretty run of the mill? Perfect when you said “ I don’t want anything to cling to my mid section” this is my life struggle ! I’m often buying larger than I need just to avoid the cling but then the fit is so off ...I just want “comfy” kinda clothes to fit but not be skintight ....well unless that’s what I’m going for....lol
Shorts that hit just above the knee are awesome. They don't ride up and you don't have to readjust every five steps you take. I really love those tanks on you (especially the button down one). My problem? Small waist and big bum and thighs. High waisted is great. Anything mid or low rise and I end up with my butt crack on show.
I LOVE that black baby doll cami and the black buckle strap body suit the best but I probably will always pick black because that’s what I like to wear in tops too! I like watching these try ons! I don’t like going in the stores to try on though! Have you checked out PrettyLittleThings.us !?!? Some of the outfits are a bit wild but they have casual too. But under the clothing, PLT Ranges they have sizes for Tall, Petite, Plus and Shape
If you like Torrid you should check out fullbeauty.com. They have great plus size clothes at even better prices IMO. Heads up, their sizes are misleading. What they call an XL is a size 18-20, a 2X is 26-28, so pay attention to the dress sizes and not the 1X, 2X etc. (check the size charts and you'll be fine). Happy shopping!!
I tend to shop at Avenue and Catherines, although my style is a little more conservative than yours. You do kind of have to hunt through their things to find stuff that isn't mom-like, but their sale prices are not bad. I really like the cardigans you chose here.
I ordered some Blazers and Tank Tops from Torrid right when all of the Covid craziness happened and my order didn’t update for 3 weeks! Then they finally released the statement about delays.. ridiculous! I think out of all of the large online retailers that I’ve bought from during these times TORRID HAS HANDLED THIS SITUATION THE WORST!

Also, Ellos is a Swedish owned online company with very stylish hipper clothes I think you would like and you can access their website or through FullBeauty.com and also Ulla Popkin a German-owned company with higher-end stylish plus sizes.
Approximately, but a little more generous than the typical 2XL. Their sizing takes into account how plus sizes wear weight (so more generous bicep room, for example). It's not just straight incremental increases based on a regular-size scheme.

I'm definitely not miserable and my numbers check out at the doc every year, so being squishy is just the way I am and that's fine! I'm working on losing a little weight but it's to decrease health risks (the growing body of evidence that the biggest risk factor for covid-19 for people under age 55 is obesity has been weighing on my mind). -20 pounds would put me below the CDC's high risk BMI.

I never thought to look at Walmart online. I haven't been shopping inside anywhere since covid but I usually grab some t-shirts on my Walmart runs.

I get tees, knit shorts, knit capris at Walmart... basically my around the house wardrobe. I like Walmart's 2pc PJ sets too. My go out tees are usually from Target. QVC I get nicer, go out capris from their Denim & Co. line. I have 2 of the denim half elastic waist capris and 3 in the colored no pockets half elastic waist (black, navy & brown). And I've worn a washed these a lot & no fading. HSN, I don't have a staple brand, but I find cute tops or light weight coverings. Last thing I bought were 2 embroidered kimonos to wear over tanks in the summer.
6pm.com has a piece here & there. And Tjmaxx is were I usually get jeans & black slacks. JCPenney's is another good site to shop for plus. I bought my last wool blend coat from them & that worked out well.

I love the longer cardigans, especially the periwinkle one. :) All the black tank tops too were so cute. I especially liked the one with the gold buttons down the front. Oh God I remember all the bodysuits I wore way back when! They were an absolute pain when using the bathroom. That and jumpsuits! :-O Lol! I have a makeup question...have you ever done any reviews or GRWM using Juvia's Place eye shadows? I just ordered a couple of their mini palettes and they're gorgeous! So incredibly pigmented and they have tons of beautiful shades!

Have you ever shopped on Zulilly? They're constantly changing their inventory so I can go for a while and not find anything I like but then sometimes I find a ton. You have to check the size chart on everything though. The different brands all run different sizing.

karen jones one thing that I absolutely love about northern summers. The cool nights... and it’s not as deadly hot and humid as Florida. That’s some thick heat.
LOL I hear ya on the Oz!! I'm trying to avoid turning on the AC because it's going to cool off for a while in a couple days, and I feel like once I turn on the AC it's on for the rest of the summer. So I am resisting! I'll be thinking, "Yeah this is fine!" while I'm at the computer, until I get up and actually do something! 😂
Geek Out of Water we have one of those old time attic fans. I keep it on and it helps keep the house cool. Sometimes I shut it down it gets so cold. But it’s on from 10am till around 12am when it’s hot. Helps soo much!
First of all, I love your haul! You look great, loved the heart shape top and the lilac one. I think going a size up is better. I prefer flows to hide my flaws. I don’t know if torrid is sold in Canada. Never saw it. We have joe fresh clothing store and I would suggest that. I have cardigans but most purchased from Marshall’s. They are 3/4 sleeves and perfect for my height. I’m working from home now, so I don’t have to worry about the AC.
There are some Torrid stores in Canada, although I Think they are just beginning to open stores here. We had one open here in Winnipeg about a year ago.

Oh I remember summers back east. Ouch! I’m a fall and winter girl, thank you very much! We hit 72 today here and I couldn’t be happier. We get a few weeks here in the 80s and maybe a handful of 90 plus days but I stay hidden when that happens. 😂. You look so wonderful in the tops. I really love the black tanks with graphics. They are always my favorites in the summer months. I’ve never worn a body suit because ya know.....the snaps! Stay safe and well Shelly. I know Virginia is a hotbed of rising 🦠. I’m so relieved that you’re able to stay home and teach. My alma mater is in Southern California and classes will be on campus in the fall (which I think is nuts.) I’m often buying larger than I need just to avoid the cling but then the fit is so off ...I just want “comfy” kinda clothes to fit but not be skintight ....well unless that’s what I’m going for....lol

Shorts that hit just above the knee are awesome. They don't ride up and you don't have to readjust every five steps you take. I really love those tanks on you (especially the button down one). My problem? Small waist and big bum and thighs. High waisted is great. Anything mid or low rise and I end up with my butt crack on show.

I LOVE that black baby doll cami and the black buckle strap body suit the best but I probably will always pick black because that’s what I like to wear in tops too! I like watching these try ons! I don’t like going in the stores to try on though! Have you checked out PrettyLittleThings.us !?!? Some of the outfits are a bit wild but they have casual too. But under the clothing, PLT Ranges they have sizes for Tall, Petite, Plus and Shape

If you like Torrid you should check out fullbeauty.com. They have great plus size clothes at even better prices IMO. Heads up, their sizes are misleading. What they call an XL is a size 18-20, a 2X is 26-28, so pay attention to the dress sizes and not the 1X, 2X etc. (check the size charts and you'll be fine). Happy shopping!!

I tend to shop at Avenue and Catherines, although my style is a little more conservative than yours. You do kind of have to hunt through their things to find stuff that isn't mom-like, but their sale prices are not bad. I really like the cardigans you chose here.

I ordered some Blazers and Tank Tops from Torrid right when all of the Covid craziness happened and my order didn’t update for 3 weeks! Then they finally released the statement about delays.. ridiculous! I think out of all of the large online retailers that I’ve bought from during these times TORRID HAS HANDLED THIS SITUATION THE WORST!

I was sewing my own skater dresses for a while because my proportions just don't fit production cuts. I'm such a shorts or jeans girl though that I don't get as much wear out of the dresses.

They're slip-on Converse All Stars! They have laces but they're just to tighten or loosen the top of the shoe. The tops are elasticized :)

Also, Ellos is a Swedish owned online company with very stylish hipper clothes I think you would like and you can access their website or through FullBeauty.com and also Ulla Popkin a German-owned company with higher-end stylish plus sizes.
Hard to find clothes in larger sizes that aren't so "old lady." My daughter shops at online buycurvy and Torrid.

Approximately, but a little more generous than the typical 2XL. Their sizing takes into account how plus sizes wear weight (so more generous bicep room, for example). It's not just straight incremental increases based on a regular-size scheme.

I'm definitely not miserable and my numbers check out at the doc every year, so being squishy is just the way I am and that's fine! I'm working on losing a little weight but it's to decrease health risks (the growing body of evidence that the biggest risk factor for covid-19 for people under age 55 is obesity has been weighing on my mind). -20 pounds would put me below the CDC's high risk BMI.
