- Hello!
Today we’re exploring one of Sunderland’s oldest churches, Holy Trinity Church - which is over 300 years old!
Holy Trinity Church is now known by a new name Seventeen Nineteen, inspired by the year of the church’s foundation. Today it’s a fab arts and events space, with truly amazing people who work there.

Very informative.
Loving your videos and your passion. As an exile it's great to see how beautiful our town is.
Thank you so much!😁 There is definitely beauty to be found still in Sunderland!
So mesmerising, I'm totally enchanted with the history and stories within this Church. Narrating the interesting facts, you are such a natural - I'm hooked!🥰 x
It's an absolutely gorgeous church! I'm so pleased you enjoyed this video 🥰
Great video. Been twice now after watching this. Big fan of your content. Very interesting and it's nice to see someone with a real passion for local nostalgia.
I'm pleased you like my content! 😁There is so much history in our region that is hidden and needs to be celebrated!
Amazing history and the windows are beautiful
It's an amazing building 😁 I'm not really a churchy person, but I love this one!
@northeastnostalgic5071 me neither, everyone to there own , I love the architecture and history to why and how these were built
That's my parish thanks for the video
Great video. I was a choir boy in this church. We got two bob a week and ten bob for weddings. Wealth indeed! I never made up the stairs to the bell tower though! The joinery on display is marvelous. When I was a lad, the wall around the graveyard was lined with large tombstones.
That grey sign outside is hideous.
I'm pleased you liked this video! 😁 I bet it was quite nice having a bit of a sing song for a few bob!
Will have to visit next time I'm up there
It's a great place to visit, they're always having events on too 😊
Saint Peters where my mum and dad got married, and I ended up, scattering my grandmother which I brought back yem from down under Sydney. You may have seen the story in the echo in 2016 would be a good place for you to visit as it was built. Well the tower is from 675. I think something like that.
That's a good idea! St Peters an incredibly old church with a lot of history 😊
@@northeastnostalgic5071 yes I think the Vikings burnt it down a few times in its history, but the tower is the original part. 674 AD
No mention or pics of the Organ! disgraceful how it was taken out despite many efforts by local groups
They are plaster CORNICES.
