Researching your ancestors changes all of us, it touches our soul in ways that we never knew could , it’s amazing, i too found hardships with my ancestors, it changed my perspective on how I get up everyday, it’s not that bad.

Regarding the point in the show in which it was revealed that her paternal grandfather was not her biological grandfather, they spoke as if the grandmother must have had an affair, but I wondered if it was non consensual and possibly something she just didn't speak about, especially since they could not find much info on the actual grandfather. I will have to watch this segment again.
Being successful, having money, being able to afford nice clothes, cars, house, etc is a testament not only to Your life and hard work but to your ancestors. This is true of everyone but more so for people who's ancestors lives were particularly difficult, horror filled, dehumanising and violent.

No one should have to live what her ancestors did. Even today so many black people are STILL, having to say "no matter what" that means something is terribly wrong with the society. Your country should not be the obstacle in your life. The idea of being a "victim" is Gaslighting. For example acknowledging that banks routinely under value your home if you're Black. Having to find a "whyt friend" to stage your house with their things, so the bank will appraise your home for the correct value is insanity. No where on earth does something that nutty exist. My sister had $400,000 added to the value of her home after her whyt friend pretended to be her, restaging the home. That's not victim mentality that being victimized by a sick country with sick people. I left America it's garbage😳

Azariah was white. The b was listed then ditto marks. Those were the slave and livestock records where slaves and the animals and stock were listed together. Skip Gates also said a “white” farmer.

Ancestry. Are we as Americans proud to be Americans today. I’m starting to believe that America peaked when America first shed blood on this nation before their was ever a president or a White House. I think we fell far more off then when America first started. Especially when the late 1700 bleed into the early 1800s and everything before ot bleed into the 1700’s and 1600’s and so on. I feel like America is not satisfied with being America anymore. There is no today’s America, because America is constantly repeating the darkest of history today more than ever. We are the butt end of a broader issue now. And it involves the whole world having their eyes on us. We don’t have a today because of the history that this country began with. I really don’t know if there will ever be a tomorrow for us as a nation. Not with how everyone is not satisfied being alive today.

An interesting request. This video reeked of agenda. I'd like to see a video that brings people together without artfully forgetting anything, do as this video does by attempting to remember, but doing so in a way that shares no bias, no ulterior motive, and celebrates the fact that everyone watching it, regardless of their background, is living today. It's amazing how written history allows for some groups of people to really marinate in their ancestral past, revel in the misery of the survivors, whereas many, many others come from places without recorded history, simply knowing they were escaping atrocity, escaping famine, pestilence, poverty, oppression, and were coming to a new place of opportunity. As you request, they merely show people that will help sell their product, not tell a story, not unify a people. This is using the most current thing--race grievance--as a way to sell their product, ambivalent to the potential consequences.

Is the B next to Azariah's name on the census not indicating that he was actually not white?
