  • Overnight trip. I continue working on the lean-to shelter - I make a wall and a raised bed in this part. I also cook some great meat and collect wild mushrooms. Open the full video description for more information.
This is part 2. All episodes can you see here • Bushcraft trip - shelt...
    ----------------------------
    Date: 12-09-2019 to 13-09-2019
    Day: 10°C (50°F)
    Night: 8°C (46,4°F)
Location: Sapmi - the land of the Sami people in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. Clean and remote classic northern wilderness. Fresh water rivers. Pine, spruce and birch forrest. Mountains, bears, wolves, eagles, reindeers etc. No wildlife is giving campers problems. I can't give you any information about my location, only that I am somewhere in Sapmi. You need to be the owner or get the owners permission if you want to do the same.
Consuming: Water (meltwater) and Juniper tea. Cranberry. Meat (pig) and mushrooms (boletus badius) with salt and butter.
    _________________
    A few questions:
    1. Is the water safe to drink?
Yes. Almost all water in Sapmi can you drink straight from the source. All can do it and a lot do.
    2. How do you know which mushrooms is safe to eat?
Only way to do it safely is only to collect what you recognise.... So it is all about doing some homework and getting to know a lot of mushrooms - looks, smell, taste, structure, common habitat etc. I have been on a few trips with an expert teaching me the basics a few years ago... I can recommend all to do the same, it is a lot better than books, but books is also a great tool. I am defiantly not an expert myself, but enjoy collecting the few mushrooms I know meanwhile learning to recognise more.

Rune may hit 1 million subscribers, and I will still think this is one of the best channels of any kind on UA-cam, and one of the most underrated. Something I noticed is there are very few comments of people trying to correct him, or compare their way to his (I'm not speaking of trolls and other negative commenters). I think it shows that this is a way of life rather than a hobby, so what you see is based on day to day experience rather than gear trends or trying to one-up other content creators. I think being his way of life is what makes it so pleasant and calming to watch. He moves calmly, deliberately, and like a person who is at home, no drama or pretense, no rush to get everything in and documented so the person can get back home to their real life.

Ever notice that EVERYTHING is a competition now? This is how laid back life and past-times should be. I realize this is not a habitation, but a relaxing sojourn into the wilderness. I'd have to move back to town after two or three years. 😉

Thank you for taking us on these walks. It is very valuable to share with others the beauty of our world, real emotions and your vision of what surrounds us! All this is a great work and art, it is worth a lot..... Thank you for the fact that more and more people are carried away by hiking romance, making people kinder. When you are in nature, you always enjoy the little things. You live in the present moment, and all negative thoughts leave our mind!

I love these videos, the beautiful Nordic landscape, those tall trees, the food on the coals, outdoors, transmits a lot of peace and tranquility, I live in Argentina, in the central region, the city is an oven in summer, and I move to that place to see the images, here it is cold in the winters of Patagonia, in the south of the country, but I've never been there. I have noticed that in some comments people say that you smile, and if you are happy in your environment, and doing crafts, well, smile😊💚!

Its a pleasure watching your adventure. With all the rocks around you would heating them in the fire and placing them under your bed with either dirt or moss over them allow for a much warmer evening. I believe about four or five depending how cold may be six would do. And a rock pillow under your neck for support like in ancient Japan. Thank you for your great ideas they are fantastic. Ballarat Victoria Australia.
