It's fundamentally ludicrous that I can be more free in Illinois than in Texas. Bodily integrity is not someone else's choice. It resides internally in the person of the citizen. To me this seems like a giant case of "womb envy". Thanks for your comment.

The Republican Party used to believe in power down mentality. Meaning don’t decide at a higher level what can be handled at a lower one. The party now is a power mongering group of racists. Much is the result of “Christians”who believe that they can legislate people to conversion.

@@totostamopomaybe but I think it's more than that. I think it's more elaborate and well thought out over decades. Here's my view: Bush left no child behind. We have a lot of functionally illiterate people with high school diplomas. A lot. Quite a few are also at about a third grade level. Almost no one has above an 8th grade education since no child was left behind. The threw common core at it, saying see we're trying. Common core has been phased out and my kids are learning the way I and their grand parents did two decades ago.
The military pulls from the bottom 3% of every graduating class, statistically. Because of the way we do "education" we have nonstop self renewing military stock.
They keep talking about low birth rate statistics. Pointing to China's one child policy.
We're having a lot less kids than our parents had and they already had fewer than our grandparents had. How do you fix low birth rates? Fear monger about what China's going through with their bottleneck generations and take away a woman's ability to choose, easily. Rich women will always be able to travel to get what they need. But most do not have that luxury. So they have the baby.
Huh, birth rates are going up.
We're still not educating them at a global level, though. Lots of healthy, never taught how to critically think or question, drones for the govt machine.

Quick reminder: our constitution *does not say* Court Justices get lifetime appointments. It says "shall retain their offices under good behavior." In the past, we had Justices who held to the standard of "good behavior" by not taking bribes, not committing perjury by lying in the job interview. They all held life-time posts *because* they refrained from bad behavior. Hence, we do not have a "system of lifetime appointments" we have a system where a justice who refrains from bad behavior shall retain their office until they choose to retire or they expire. Constitution *could have said* "life appointment" but chose not to because life appointments invite dictatorial tyranny. After some 200 years, America came to see justices as having "life appointments" because of lack of crime on the bench. But that is *not* what the constitution says. The "originalists" on the supreme court have never even noticed this phrase, or how it potentially limits their dictatorial powers.

@@The1stDukeDroklarThat's an oversimplification as well. Courts have picked and chosen which rights corporations have as "people" in order to give them favor and protect them.
Corporations can break the law and not be subject to prison time like an actual real person. Corporations can legally buy another corporation... can you legally buy another person? If corporations are people, why don't they pay taxes on their revenue instead of profit, like actual real people do? Etc...
This idea of corporations being "people" is relatively new, as the courts have taken equal rights amendments in the Constitution and applied them to corporations even though they were never meant to be used in such a way.
The American people decided that individuals who had long been excluded from being considered part of “we the people,” like African Americans and women, were, in fact, full members of the body politic. But now counter-majoritarian courts are taking the lead in shoehorning corporations into roles that previously only American citizens occupied. Corporations do not have coequal constitutional rights as living, breathing human citizens, but they are making claims on more rights that, until relatively recently, were only asserted by real people.

Don't forget that McConnell deliberately overrode *his* prior "precedent" about not holding hearings for a replacement justice during an election year. Oh, he was so adamant about that in 2016 when Scalia died in FEBRUARY of 2016, nearly nine full months before the election. Not his direct quote but "oh, we can't hold hearings in an election year; we need to wait until after the election." Fast forward to September of 2020 and Ruth Bader Ginsburg dies--just a little over 6 WEEKS before the election--and Trump puts forth Coney Barrett's name barely a week later and McConnell rushes through the confirmation process. Hearings are scheduled to begin barely 2 weeks later, run 4 days, and a vote is set just 10 days later. Just ONE WEEK before the election, Coney Barrett is sworn in as the newest Justice. The only consolation was that Joe Biden won the election but, unfortunately, he was denied the opportunity to name Ginsburg's replacement the way that Trump got to name Scalia's replacement. (And, this isn't meant to lessen your "body was even cold" point but Republican presidents--especially from this century--have already been handed a list of names from the moment they take office. The Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation have lists of "suitable" replacements already prepared--no matter who the justice is or why they leave the court. If a "conservative" member resigns, retires or dies, there'll be a name ready to replace; if a "liberal" member resigns, retires or dies, the same thing. The groups are cold-blooded that way because their only concern is to have a right-wing, authoritarian government.)

It's pretty simple, if your against abortion then don't get or have one! No one is forcing anyone to get an abortion! But stripping that right to away from others who have different beliefs IS WRONG!
We are a nation of many different people with many different types of belief and no one form of belief is superior to anyone else's..just different!!

By voting in every election on the entire ballot. That's all there is. It is in Article 3 of the Constitution so the only we to change it under our laws is a Constitutional Amendment. We can't change it unless enough of us put our voting power together. Vote straight ticket Democratic every time there is an election. We have to have 2/3 of each house and the 3/4 of the states to change lifetime appointment. If we had 2/3 of the States we could theoretically do it without the Legislative branch by demanding a Constitutional Convention. But we aren't even close. Republicans came very close a few years ago and thought they were going to be able to do it in 2016.

Breach of trust is what these Supreme Court members did to the entirety of the American people. To be exact, their decision opens the legal door to declare all rights not written down in the Constitution and amendments as not rights at all.
To be crystal clear, rights written into the Constitution are legally called "enumerated rights." Meaning they've been written down in the Constitution. Before this abortion decision, there used to be rights called "unenumerated rights", meaning they are not written down anywhere in the Constitution.
Unenumerated rights were ones like a right to travel. A right to wear the cloths you want. A right to eat the food you like. Madison pointed this out before the Constitution was finished in the Federalist Papers and was deeply concerned because he believed a Supreme Court might nullify all unenemerated rights in a decision. And this Supreme Court did just that with this abortion decision saying, "The Constitution makes no express reference to a right to obtain an abortion". The Constitution makes no express reference to a right to wear the clothes you want either. See it now?
What this Supreme Court has done with this abortion decision is say, there are no unenumerated rights. That you do not have a right to eat what you want. You do not have a right to travel. You do not have a right to wear the cloths you want, and all similar things. This because those are not written down in the Constitution. "Enumerated".
This is what Madison was terrified of. That a Supreme Court would make such a decision. And they just did. So believe it or not, Americans no longer have a single right to do anything that isn't outlined specifically in the Constitution. They've declared all "unenemerated rights" as unconstitutional with this abortion decision outlined in their opinions. How's that for a wake up call? Bet you didn't know either did you?

They can "claim" they changed their mind, but an investigation would likely reveal former colleagues from law school revealing all the anti-choice nonsense a particular justice was always spouting in class. They could then claim they changed their mind since law school but then changed it back once they felt they had impunity and a "lifetime appointment."
