- Take a trip back to the nineties for a detailed insight into those wonderful rave years during the height of happy hardcore. From the early days in Clacton where it all began. Stories of being on the road, making tunes and generally having a ball!
Some really great points about production in here, great podcast cheers
Bought a tear to my eye this conversation guys. They were special times indeed and I loved hearing those old story's especially the ones with the legend that is junior, What a geezer. It's true all your productions meant something and your timing was impeccable. Pacific sun is prob my fave of them all and always loved frankies lead, that guitar lead was just a work of art. Reminiscing over the old days always helps us put today and the future into perspective. Good luck with everything you do going forward. One love kman
Heart of Gold worked amazingly well on the dancefloor (back in the day,) because of the thundering kick drum echo in the intro ⛈️
❤️❤️ Yes! Looking forward to getting stuck into this episode. Legends.
hope you shed some light on making show me the sunshine and why it was never released, love these storys from the 2 greatest songmakers of my generation, legends
I do remember ‘Sunshine’ being scheduled for UKD 025 but it was late ‘99 and things kinda came to a grinding halt. Shame.
All Systems Go and Funfair were brilliant tunes.
Yes!!! Keep these coming!
Thank you guys. Absolutely love hearing these old stories and reminiscing over the the golden years of happy hardcore. Listened to the first two and now looking forward to the next episode.
Love these❤
RE: Heart of Gold - one of the big differences between now and then is that tracks then were allowed to breathe and develope. As long as the track banged, people would listen to four/ five minutes of a track without getting bored. Now, it seems like everything is geared towards "the drop". Most tracks now are almost entirely breakdown, made for the hands in the air dj pose, the crowd taking pictures, and the fireworks going off. it's basically the tiktokification of music. i remberwhen the mix was as exciting as the actual tracks being played . full disclosure: i was brought up on happy hardcore from the 90s, so whilst i think it was better "back in the day", i appreciate i'm not the audience for the newer stuff, so i might just be being old!
This is a superb comment. I know exactly what you mean. The intros and outros were so much better and longer and much better to mix with, as it required a decent level of skill. Hardcore now has 20 second intros and outros and to be honest it's such a turn off for me and countless others.
The summer heart of gold came out was crazy in Clacton, everybody was playing that full blast in their cars, what was that like for you both?
Loving these! 2 legends of the scene. Great insight into it all back then 😊
Absolutely loving these podcasts! can't wait for the album release!
heard you guys mentioning on another podcast about the funny parts between takes in studio with junior yous should included those moments on the collection I think people would love that!
and also with AI now and all the raw vocals you guys must have you could easily recreate his voice an bring the legend back for a new track
Best podcasts EVER!❤
Another great episode lads, its so interesting your tales of rhe old days.
Still hoping and praying you find the different version of Harmony that was played by Dougal at DS 20 , and get that release on digi :) (Even if Force has no memory of it lol )
This is great :-)
The cheese 🧀 that killed the rave scene . Rip 1988-1993. Praise the pionners of jungle and atmospheric drum and bass 1994 onwards 😊
The reason there is no anthems anymore is there is to much saturation music and tracks don’t have 6-12 months to work the dance floor in clubs and arenas, everything is too instant these days and people have no attention span, these guys at the time were amazing, and hold great memories for me!
Yeah I would love to hear more insight to who wrote certain songs. Would love to hear more on unique came about and how then tracks came about. Also I would love to know how sub ace & aura - my dreams come about? Because it sounds just like a force & styles track! There's so many questions 😅
I believe Unique came about due to Force having kids! Styles was younger at the time and started the Unique thing as a side project. Feelin’ Fine was right out the gates. Something along those lines anyway.
Can’t believe there was only two Sub-Ace & Aura tracks tho!
@@CraigCairney83A lad I went to school with knows them. They are just a couple of lads that went to make a tune with Force & Styles.
@CraigCairney83 i thought unique was an aliase for force & styles, well tbf I've seen or heard before about just styles, but the first release or releases not both 🤔
@@tonyrutherford4763 unique is just styles mate
Awful song along cheese that finished off hardcore in 95
This is excellent content - can't wait for the boxset. Follow Me is a masterpiece, it has everything
