Great video to start the day off. Takes me back to the “one stick fire challenge”, you could only use one stick and your own choice of ignition, no other tools. It does make me chuckle when people say “can you start a fire in wet weather”, I live in England, every other day is wet.
@ It’s an eye opener to say the least, the stick selection is down to the individual. It’s just got to start as one complete stick, so you have to process it down with no tools. Tinder, kindling and fuel all from the same stick, sounds easier than it is.
@@lifesahobby that's like saying walking isn't exhausting but getting to where your going is 😂,,, after running courses teaching people the bow drill , it is exhausting, even when you have learned the skills , it will find a way when u least expect it to exhaust you especially if your nest and other materials are not up to scratch the ember is easy enough, and awesome 😎 do it ,sounds like a great vid to me at this time of year I DNT think their is a bad fire vid to be made it is the season to get warm after all
@Bosundanbushcraft learning was done over two months . Now I can get an ember in under two minutes. With a bit of your dried out bark you should be able to go from ember to flame easy enough .
i had never heard of a wazoo fire necklace before this. but i have something super similar in my riderbags. actually came with it. also, why is it so satisfying to start a fire with a ferro rod? and you really set yourself a challenge here with no other tools and it's so wet out there. kudos! ya didn't fail at all. 🔥🔥off topic, but the slingshotting you mentioned when you found the ceramic ball... just for fun and target practice or do you hunt little critters? hope you're having a great week, dan! 🛴❤
@@scootladychicago it is satisfying especially in damp conditions 😊 the necklace was something I saw on fowlers makery and mischief, works good tho really, I'm planning on hunting squirrels with the slingshot in future but ATM just practicing 😊😊
No wonder you love birch bark...took that spark really well and quickly! Great video, and well done on achieving your challenge 👏👏💪
@@Sazzle4244 I was far easier than expected to be fair , right materials 🤣
