I have the hybrid limited. One thing I really like is the driver profiles. You can enter a primary and a secondary driver. On the profiles you can define your own bluetooth device connection, so if my wife drives it connects to her phone, if I drive it connects to mine. Also love the cooling seats, especially on hot summer days. The magnetic wireless charging pad in the front is also really nifty, you can save the USB for the passenger. And no, there is no parking assist, but you dont really need it. As you park, you can set your top view cameras and watch them to be sure you are within the lines of the parking space, or not too close to the car behind or in front of you if parallel parking. And close enough to the curb.
Thanks for the informative overview. Amazing they hold on out on the back cup holder for the highest trim, lol. Lexus does similar with the RX 350 in regards to a storage cubby in the center arm rest, so it's not unique to Hyundai. Great outro music btw!
FYI for others, the heads up display is hard to see if you wear polarized sunglasses, which I don't know how they would fix, but at the same time, I assume that a huge percentage of drivers use them. I haven't tried with no-polarized yet.
I have the gas limited. The rear USB can't power an iPad, and there's only one! There's no place to grab the trunk lid when closing it. The transmission isn't very smooth. I agree with the 1.6 turbo being the only option on the highest trim is odd. I don't like the idea of only running direct injection. Most expensive option has incandescent backup and license plate lights. I agree on not being able to lock it without the fob but I often just lock and unlock the car with my phone through blue link. My passenger says that the seat is really low and she can't adjust it higher. I'm 6 1 and barely fit, the sunroof really takes away some headroom. The engine really feels underpowered. I have to downshift or put in sport mode when I know I need some power, like pulling on to the highway. Matrix headlights don't swivel or anything. There's SOOOOO much piano black inside it. No sunshade in the gas limited. Only used smart park once. I love the heck out of my car but it's not perfect.
I have a 2022 sel with the 2.5 it's GDI and MPI so no more big problems with carbon buildup, this engine is so smooth and I get 43.6 highway mpg so I wouldn't even concierge the more complicated hybrid.
What color option is the interior of this Sonata? The exterior appears to be Hampton Grey but I don’t see an interior option on Hyundai’s website that matches this interior.
Great Review. Those are some weird quirks for sure. I would like to add the lack of a sunroof or smark park on the Hybrid. Also, why not a power rear window sunshade to go with manual side window shades.
I prefer the 2.5T on top trim. That 1.6T is really pathetic. I heard about the "jerking brake" even on my 2017 hybrid from some reviews, but I have never experienced anything like that. It feels very linear, and I can feel the switch when it comes down very slow close to stop (maybe 20-30mph) which I feel is good to let the driver know. Also, I don't see links for the full review and night review you've mentioned.
Braking on the hybrid version is fine, tbh I prefer it over the 2015 Optima Hybrid and the 2017 Optima Hybrid. I have to say without a doubt, the Sonata 2020 Hybrid is better than previous hybrids in every single way. It's a noticeable dramatic change, especially in the mileage, I averaged 52 mpg both city and highway, I was getting 54 mpg in city often. And it's even quieter than before, it's nice.
Actually, you can, at least on the Limited trim. You can send a lock command from your phone with the blue link app, or even tell Alexa to do it. I know that's a bit of a workaround from pressing the button, but it's still possible.
Can you buy the 2020 Sonata SEL in order to get the naturally aspirated engine and then add all of the option packages available to get close enough to the equivalent of the Limited trim?
Tuning and seeking and various audio mode controls are the steering wheel!!! Or even faster, just say radio 98.5. Why the hell are you touching the infotainment for those controls?!?!?!? I test drove the K5 Ex, hate to disappoint but oh noes, it doesn't have tuning dial either. FYI you can get the tuning dial on both K5 and Sonata if you just go down to the lower trim levels. But again WHY ARE YOU TOUCHING those infotainment controls? BTW it has voice control as well for any other needs you may have and why aren't you using Apple or Android Auto?
Sorry but no I haven’t! I planned to but I had audio issues during that video so I have a lot of parts I need to fix before posting. I’ll try to get to it soon!
FYI you can DRIVE and LOCK and EVERYTHING with your phone and wallet card. I have driven the car to work and back with just my phone, left the key fob and wallet card at home, it works. You don't need the key fob to operate this car. You can also lock the door, open, lock/open trunk, start, etc from your inside your home or work etc using your phone.
I would rather not use my phone. Unlike most people i’m not addicted and reliant on my phone. It’s a very very simple thing. Push the lock button to lock the car. But it doesn’t. Are you aware that locking it with any remote, phone, fob, whatever transmits a signal that can be stolen? I personally don’t think about that but it’s one reason why that’s stupid.
@@PrimeAutotainment Alrighty. I'm sure there are tons of thieves just waiting for a cell signal to steal the car. Everyone uses a fob for the cars now, so that's a stupid thing to be worried about at this point. And the wallet card works off the same tech as your fob. As for phone, it uses NFC, phone has to be almost touching the door handle for it to unlock and it has to be on the charger to start and drive which is a non-issue since I'm sure majority of people will be using android or apple auto with these cars. Also the NFC connect to car only when you are standing right next to it.
Nice review. Agree on all points. One dislike is that the metal trim in the steering wheel is uncomfortable over long drives. A fully leather wrapped wheel feels much better (and one of the reasons I went with the 2020 Santa Fe). One like is 3 years of Blue Link for remote start/monitoring, then $99/yr thereafter.

I like that parking assist feature. That's really cool for that brand. Good review!!
Definitely, surprised they offer it. Thank ya sir!
Just be aware the parking assist is only on the gas, I'm hoping maybe with a software update it will come to the hybrid as well.
Good honest review.
Thank you as always Brian!

There is a purpose behind direct injection….
Can't lock the doors because they don't want you locking the key fob inside vehicle.

Ideally wait and get a used one from a CarMax, to avoid the lower quality dealers unless there is a warranty claim.
Can you please highlight the differences between hybrid sel and hybrid limited trims.

Excellent
If the battery goes within the 10 / 100,000 hybrid / electric system components warranty - does that warranty cover replacement?
Great review Nolan
I would probably pass on the Hybrid and get an Accord Hybrid
It’s an odd quirk that you can’t lock the vehicle without the key fob being present.

Lack of infotainment hard buttons/tuning dial and physical gearshift would make me go over to Kia K5.

Requesting a Gmc Terrain 2020 or 2021 review plz
If I can get ahold of one! I rarely ever get a GMC and I don’t get a choice as to which one 😕
how many miles can this car drive a week???
As many miles as you want? Weird question, the car doesn't have a weekly mileage limit.
@@VfRuckus great thanks
@@VfRuckus i believe he is asking like on a full tank because of the hybrid engine
Have you posted the full review video for this car?

Which dealership in DFW has this car?
MICHAEL WILLIAMS it should be at any Hyundai dealer
@@PrimeAutotainment They told me that the Hybrid Limited model isn't in yet. Should come in around October.
Dang I guess I wasn’t aware of that lol. Bummer!
That is weird!!! Little things like a back console only on a certain trim!
VERY WELL.🚙
It does look good.. tbe rest time will tell
The good the bad and most definitely ugly a driving fish.
