- Leslie Guthrie, a 29-year-old mother, along with her children Timothy, aged 3, and Julie, aged 6, vanished without a trace on February 5th, 1977. The vehicle they were last seen in, a 1974 white Ford Maverick 300 Edition with license plate number 636 WNA, remains missing to this day. The circumstances surrounding their disappearance are shrouded in mystery, with no concrete leads pointing to their current location.

In our continuous mission to bring closure to families, we at Adventures With Purpose (AWP) have embarked on a journey to uncover the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of Leslie, Julie, and Timothy. This case has left a void in the hearts of many, and we are determined to shed light on their whereabouts.

Our search began in Katona, New York, where Leslie was last seen picking up her children from their father's home on Grandview Avenue. The conditions on that fateful day were far from ideal, with a massive storm making visibility and road conditions treacherous. The question remains: Did Leslie take the highway or the back roads? Did an accident occur due to the storm, causing their vehicle to veer off into one of the many reservoirs in the area?
In our previous search, we explored various theories and potential leads. We met with family members, including Jennifer and Stephanie, Leslie's sister, who provided invaluable insights into Leslie's life and habits. Their stories, combined with our search, paint a picture of a mother who loved her children deeply and would never willingly leave them behind.
Our team has been tirelessly working, diving into reservoirs, and using advanced equipment to scan the depths in hopes of finding any trace of the Guthrie family. Every discovery, every lead, brings us one step closer to solving this heart-wrenching mystery.

I am glad I am not the only one that thinks it was wrong of some of the others to walk away from Jared. Especially since he was not found guilty of anything at the time. Friends don’t do that. I honestly believe Jared is a good Man. He has helped so many families and I have seen him cry with them and even come back to try and help again! I pray this all works out soon. I still think it is a matter of these girls wanting money! I pray for him daily, I hope when he is cleared these men will be as fast to apologize as they were to walk away!!!

There is something so wholesome about this! Being a firefighter myself it‘s great to see someone is looking at these cold cases where other emergency services were unable to find anything.

I gotta tell ya, I'm in my 60's a retired LEO and was a 1st. Lt. on a Volunteer First Aid & Rescue Squad for eight years, and even with that background I had absolutely no clue that so much of this happens, that was until about a year or so back when I started watching your ch., you Folks are absolutely amazing and the work that you do has brought so many answers to so many people that without you there would have never been any answers.

I don't know, but I would say the overhead power lines would likely be providing a lot of background magnetic noise, more than a typical aluminum guard rail (although they are made out of/with different materials, yeah). also (and most importantly): thanks, Jared for your hard work for the families. lots of love

I know this may sound bad, but I like to watch the videos where you recover, I don't really get into the ones where the waters are all searched and nothing is found
But because of those videos there have bin at least 7 people found. Two of them even alive. Some in the woods.🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭
Then don’t watch! It’s not about staging a river and recovering a car. This is real life and in order to find someone you have to look and keep looking til they’re found. I enjoy the whole process
Half the battle with cases where nothing is found that requires recovering is to bring awareness to a cold case that may be forgotten by modern media or received little coverage or none back in the day. There have been plenty of times where people watched, commented about being from that area where AWP was searching, and how they never heard about this case on the news despite being a resident of the region. Awareness triggers memories that someone may realize they have that winds up being the missing link for solving a case.
Remember, by searching and ruling out locations, the families can have some peace knowing that when they drive by a body of water within that 5 mile radius, their loved ones are not there.

It is not so unlikely that a woman runs away with her children from a violent husband, if that were the case after 46 years it is very difficult to find them if they don't want to be searched for!
I cant imagine there would be much left of a vehicle after that many years under water. But who knows technology keeps improving all the time. I just feel sad for the families not knowing what happened to their loved ones.

That Proton unit is like the MAD boom (Magnetic Anomaly Detector) on the tail end of the Lockheed P-3C Orion. If a submarine was submerged but close to the surface we would pass over low at say 200' & see if we detected that disturbance in the earth's magnetic field letting us know we just flew over a submarine.

Is that the croton res? My grandfather and his brothers in the early 1900’s were known to push cars that no longer worked in there. There is also remnants of old houses from when the dam was unable to stop the overflow.

The tail light and partial bumper is the left rear from a 70-72 Pontiac lemans or GTO. I'm 99.9% sure on that.

Could the overhead power grid affect your readings?
Yes, it certainly could. However, we were able to pinpoint the pipeline as it ran out into the lake so I think being closer to the target in the water vs the powerlines kept us in the realm of everything working properly.

Yeah, and even if she WAS hypothetically going to leave on her own accord (to "check out" permanently), why would she take the kids down with her? Women with self-harm thoughts are not known to harm their own children in the process unless they are very mentally unstable, but if that had been the case, someone would have made note of her not acting like herself or giving red flags. That's my thinking right now.
