Remember Kim picking up an framed award for her Greatest Hits album too that night (which she was rather chuffed about). Unfortunately the awards show was up against the 3hr season finale of Hey Hey its Saturday on Channel 9 which trounced the TV ratings that evening. It was quite common for the performers to sing live in awards shows back then. And still is in Australia. Kim did the song proud, it was a very strong rendition as with all her covers she has done over the years.

I cannot stop admiring the professionalism of the background singer at 2:58. She nearly topples the mic, gets it back and is immediately back in her choreography and singing. 💪🏻👍🏻
@@giuliom7428This can only somebody say who has no clue how challenging it is to dance, sing and keeping the rhythm in high heels while the camera is rolling and hundreds or more of people watching you during a live gig. 😉

It really is fun to read these comments made about me and my mic catch 30 years ago😂 I didn't go home crying, but I did have a moment of panic when this happened but laughed about it later😅
I don't recall the performance so I'm guessing it was late 80s / early 90s. Kim was obviously kicking butt and enjoying herself, while on the other side of the Pacific Belinda Carlisle was going through hell. I'm thrilled that they both survived the meat grinder and emerged confident, mature women.
