Great footage but am a little puzzled, with this class only having 24,170 tractive effort max for power I find it a bit hard to believe that it could ascend Miles Platting bank so easily obviously depending on the coaches it's hauling and also don't forget the `bank`had a gradient of 1 in 47 unless this was double headed and maybe it was because I can hear the sound of another loco maybe a class 5, in the background, could someone enlighten me on this footage.
Good point! The second loco coupled in behind 76079 was 45407. The 5 foot 3 inch drivers on 76079 and the six foot drivers on the black 5 make for a nice syncopated exhaust

Mate I asked the same question, this class couldn't ascend this bank so easily on it's own.
