I'm jealous of you lads. The 86 community in the States is pretty great overall. But if you need parts you can expect to get gouged. Even for the door vents and small bits that you're grabbing here. I wish in the States it was less 'flipper' focused and more like this video.
Yeah the parts man It's fun getting those right from the spot, fenders to even small parts but what's the starting price for these things in ireland because europeans have the 86 expensive and american men work for their dream zero to hero sr5 rusty shell to swapped engine then bumpers if the man doesn't like those or even levin front if the man likes levins usually from my european view (watching videos from usa restoring them) I would like sr5 to build one from the grave if shipping costs stay polite and if it's actually saveable flos.ie is the usual for parts that are something small or sometimes big as far as I know but they don't have everything my country has those things but few of them are road legal and not rally tuned and I choose what my bank can handle but I want to save (which could be cheaper or not) one to preserve the pool of these things that some want
Ireland is great for getting parts, I'm a Volvo enthusiast, daily drive a 96 940 turbo, myself and a lot of the 740/940 enthusiasts keep in contact and help each other out with parts of needs be. The car community here is generally pretty good.
Did NOT expect to see a Starion here! Super cool to see as I own one here in the states where they're a lot more common but still very rare. The name is not actually a misspeak of Stallion but a blend of 'Star of Orion'.

What an amazing collection your man's got there. I had an FX GT about 18 years ago. I'm sure it didn't ride or look as nice as this one by half, but I do suddently miss it a whole lot. What an amazingly lovely car! Also love the 323 GTX, nearly owned one of them as well at some point. Trouble was it had been used for rallying (good), and modifications done to it meant it couldn't be registered for road use again without throwing a lot of cash at it (bad). At some point I stopped looking for more of them, but now I wish I hadn't :D
Look at the cbr900rr streetfighter! Nice bike! Orange wheels and everything! I have the next gen, the cbr929rr. A lad on ebay is selling an orange tank if Mr. X is interested, but it's in Latvia and shipping is $800! Great progress lads, keep it up!

oh my god, all the little bits that used to get thrown away when these cars were cheap and gutted.. I need so many little pieces and am spending years waiting for them to pop up on ebay.
Those little Mazda BMFR's were mad popular in New Zealand back in the day. Ironically they have become hugely popular again in the last year or so but 4 times the price they used to be!!
I use to see a lot of stuff from NZ about them, they are rare here, never really took off and Ive only ever seen one Japanese import example. The other small few Ive spotted over the years were UK imports.
Hearing a Dundalk accent is gas, I grew up within 2 km of Mr. X but never knew anything about the stash. Just show the cool cars that are under the radar in ireland. On a 5km drive this weekend I saw a R5 Gt Turbo, MR2, E21 Baur, and a Porsche 944.
Super interesting video, just putting a warning out there that the solid metal harmonic balancers are not the best for long term engine health incase you intended to use it. Sure they have less rotational mass and where on some race cars, but those engines where designed for frequent rebuilds not the long term goodness that most of us aim for/can afford.
yeah very true. they dont absorb engine harmonics like a balancer with a rubber isolator, and those vibrations can find their way into the oil pump if its driven drirectly off the crank, and shatter the gears in it. ford zetec oil pumps are well known to shit themselves with these fitted.
