- Despite receiving rave reviews from critics and boasting the star power of Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling, The Fall Guy fell short of meeting box office projections. Despite Blunt and Gosling's stellar performances, which contributed to the success of top-grossing films in 2023, audiences did not flock to see The Fall Guy in the same numbers.

THIS MOVIE WAS SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD THOUGH!!
My man! 🤝
so... how come the "literally us" memers didnt go out to support the movie? lol
We saw this on opening day and we recommend it to everyone!
Can't afford food let alone cinema tickets...
Yet you're here posting on a YT video......
@@DapimpBDSD, because that’s free… Did you miss that part? 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
So sad because this was such a good movie! 😭
I agree. I even went to see it during the week (when I don't usually get to; I was lucky to find a time slot that allowed me to see it before work). It is an awesome movie
Totally agree 100%. Saw the movie and I really had a good time.
@@kristiansmith7737 I saw it opening weekend too with my Mom and Uncle, and we loved it! It was funny and had a great soundtrack! Afterwards I couldn't get "I was Made for Loving You" outta my head! I actually now use the phrase ducking autocorrect in texting because of this movie! 🤣
@@Rodeo_Wizard Right?! I had a good time too! 😊
There was very little advertising and the trailers that was shown showed very little, just boring stuff. It basically said who was in the movie
Great movie and refreshing story line. That's shame it didn't hit expectations
I don't go to the cinema anymore; too expensive, too uncomfortable, and you have to sit with noisy strangers.
I asked a friend who I often see movies with to see it with me and he refused and said he wasn’t the least bit interested. I went by myself and really liked it. When I talked with him he said he wasn’t interested because it was based on a tv show. I think that is hurting the movie. Just like I couldn’t convince my wife to see dungeons and dragons because “she isn’t into D&D” even though fantasy comedy is right up her alley.
Wait, this already opened? I thought it was a summer release. I guess I'll go see it today.
It was obvious that was going to happen just watching the trailer.
have you heard of undeadChronicXiv
I bet they thought tiktok would carry it
Should have been released in July. Close to the 1 year anniversary of Barbie & Oppenheimer
you seriously think ppl hand over $15 to see actors rather than stories?
People did for Wonka
dunno I was expecting the "literally us" memers to save this flick lol
Going to save my money for Deadpool & Wolverine , a dollar a day until it opens should be sufficient.
Reminds me of Edge of Tomorrow. Great movie with mediocre box office results mostly because of terrible marketing.
Bummer I really liked that movie it was fun
Well it may have done less than they thought it would, but it has already covered production cost opening weekend worldwide. It should make money, just not what was expected. They couldn't have had that large of a marketing budget, as you really didnt see much. Could be a slow burn. That has happened, as most people who saw it are recommonding it and raving about it. This could translate into a strong second weekend.
Production costs plus marketing. The movie will not earn back its keep so it's considered a flop
@radrobd123 production budget was $50 million, marketing was about $25 million and the worldwide box office to date is $103 million. It has already posted a profit. Is it going to make a ton, probably not. Profitable yes. Then it will go to VOD and then streaming. By the end of that it will probably make in the neighborhood of $75-$100 million in profit.
Why would I go to the theater to see this when it will be on streaming soon? Why would the Performances of Barbie or Oppenheimer even be an indicator on this movie? Whoever thought that two actors from those movies being in a completely different movie would make it a success really has no idea about people.
I think what killed the movie was because the show it was based on really isn’t that well known.
I didn't even know it was based on a TV shoe till I mentioned this movie to my Mom who told me there was a TV show that was called that!
I knew it from the eighties on UK TV. Loved it. Him and his side kick in that truck. It was a cool show.
Why do they keep destroying what we knew?
Yeah, it was well known...just 40 years ago.
I was interested based on the trailer. Knowing it's somewhat inspired by an 80s TV show was bonus to me
@@kristiansmith7737 I recommend watching the originals first then move onto the movie.
I will watch the movie at some point but expectations wise I expect something completely different to the series. I'll see how it goes.
Maybe there wasn’t as much advertising or just because of theaters in general
I saw it and I liked it 😁👍
This movie is going to be a massive hit on streaming once people see it. You will wish you had seen it in the theater. Its a fantastic movie. My wife wanted to see it again on Mothers Day and we enjoyed it the 2nd time we saw it too.
Half of the cost of the film on opening weekend sounds pretty good to me. Maybe not Oppenheimer numbers but not too shabby either.
the movie's box office dropped 50% in its second weekend. In addition to the budget, add in marketing costs and the movie is a flop
It was a very fun movie. The kind you have to see at the theater
Good movie tho
Marketing was awful…no idea what the movie was
If this was Julia Roberts in her day this does 500+ million.
Honestly, haven't seen a single commercial for this. Have to assume it's based on the tv show/...?
Loosely. They use the character's name and the stunt man idea but that's it
You guys talk like these two actors were the protagonists that drove the success of barbenheimer so you can rip them more apart lol
Loved this movie. So funny and well acted. Great action scenes
Lol why did anyone expect this to do Barbie or Opp numbers in the first place? Even if it is a good time? Hollywood is dead with the rare exceptions. Expecting anything close to a billion dollars these days is setting up for failure. Not really why this video was even made tbh lol.
Did they have Gosling sing "The Unknown Stuntman"?
Just consider where Hollywood has fallen: This is the movie version of a TV series created by committee. And movies tend to be written by committee as well.
The song was in the end credits, but not sung by Gosling. And they updated the lyrics
i think the people dont understand what is about and also seems boring on trailer
People like me will just wait for streaming. I’m sure it’s good. I’m patient so I don’t need to go out and pay theaters money if this will be out streaming in a few weeks.
What is fall guy about?? That’s probably the problem
Oh noooooo, any way if you'll excuse me I have a ton of anime and kdramas to watch.
Don't write off the movie! It's a funny movie with many, many great stunts. I recommend watching it in the cinema, it will not look so effective in streaming. It's a pleasure not to receive a message, except: have fun!
Do a video of unsold live action animated hybrid pilots
The critics may hate it, but I enjoyed it. I'm definitely getting it on Blu-Ray.
There have been so many bad movies over the past few years, people have all but lost faith in seeing good ones.
Action was great. Stunts amazing. Concept was somewhat ok. Script/dialogue was weak. Wish they kept it more to the concept of the original show. Colt Seavers was not a cynical sarcastic character, he was tough and cool. Maybe Jason Momoa would’ve been a better Colt.
I saw it and I enjoyed it as forgettable fun. By how the box office is going I don't think it is going to lose money but I don't think it is going to make much money either.
Great
Never heard of it.
1st time hearing about this movie.
A very good movie, loved it
Every time some B S re boot - make ect fails it makes me smile
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie
It was a fun film
Let's be real, Oppenheimer was not a success due to Emily Blunt. She's fine, but she did not carry the movie. It was Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy
The theater is so expensive. nearly $100 for tickets, snacks and drinks for just 2 people. We love the experience but rarely go anymore.
Just buy tickets without the drinks and snacks lol
@@Nekminute, that defeats the purpose of the movie going experience.
For all that, I can stay at home and watch it. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
@@ReparationsNation you dont have an IMAX at home, but you do have much cheaper snacks ofcourse and you have to wait 6 months to see it
This movie is awesome!!
Economy is in shambles and Gosling is an ass actor. What do you expect?
Celebrity culture is dead.
A remake of a crummy 80's sitcom? What a great idea!
My thoughts exactly. Reboot of a mediocre series that I lived through once already…
It was redeveloped. He is not a Bounty Hunter in the movie version.
The show was not a sitcom, it was an hour long adventure crime drama. Duh
@@radrobd123 You took it seriously?????
@@32shumble I didn't say I did. I said it was not a sitcom. It was similar to Magnum, P.I., Simon & Simon and shows from that era. And those were not sitcoms
The should never have made it.
Screenrant fails to meet expectations after losing its tent pole, Pitch Meeting.
The movie was ok..
Ryan gosling movie are always ehh, even he may be a good actor
First
Overdose of Emily blunt, loud overacting, zero chemistry with Ryan & she looked very old as a leading lady!! Feeling sorry for Gosling he was the best thing avt the movie ❤🔥 also the last action sequence was 🔥🔥🔥 but sum how bad editing, no chemistry between the lead pair, No romantic background created between them, Overall boring 1st half, childish script & too much unnecessary screen presence of Emily blunt ruined the whole movie 👎👎👎 Also the villain didn't look convincing as a bad guy, more like an average looking, bad actor who played the role of a clown 😂😂😂
Unfortunately until the Israel situation doesn’t stop this is the new trend now meaning low box office sales…
The "People" are sick of spoiled actors running their mouths about politics. Hollywood is suffering from self inflicted wounds
Sorry Ken lol
I mean, look at the leader actor and director, esp actor..this was never gonna work lol
The story was not new, original, or wanted
Nonsense! This is a fantastic film! I predict it will get its legs and really fly!
You know nothing.
From Bladerunner to Barbie to Fall Guy...why wouldn’t it work?
