I am listening to this and see no difference between kurdish music and azeri music, but, we all from the same region, so its only makes sense that all our music is alike. Asalam wa aleykum to all my kurdish, turkish, talish, lezgi, malakan, tat, meskheti brothers and sisters
It's pure iranic music & traditions of kurdish origins. Persian & kurdish music/traditions, just as language, culture, and clothes(rural local persian) are all from one & same incomment iranic Indo-Iranian root, END OF DISCUSSION!
Dear friends, let's not mix Perisan with Iranian. Iranian is a words which describes all ethnicities of Iran, such as Kurds, Fars, Baluch, etc... Iran/Aryab (Arian)
WHO GIVE A CRAP dude..... Because you get excited with a music that all have PERSIAN roots, suddenly you decided not to be part of great culture! GOOD LUCK...
You have the same Norouz, the same fire feast, the same blacksmith, the same sun, and many other things like a beautiful word Azadi, some old family links. AND MUSIC TRAVELS very quickly, you kow.
There is one thing to be proud of being Kurdish and Kurdish achievements, but nothing excuses racist tendencies. Grow up, Persians and Kurds are both Aryans and part of a greater culture which includes both of them. Stop trying to divide people. Proud Zoroastrian here who loves both Persian and Kurdish brothers and sisters! This love extends further to all my Aryan brothers and sisters...Indo-Aryan India, Pashtuns, Baluchis, Tajiks, Mazandaranis, Gilakis, Tats, Talyshis, Luri, Ossetians, Pamiris etc!
+6rban100 =D they only have the quarternotes common, nothing else. This makes the songs sound "orientalic" from an european view. The Turks and Persians have absorbed a lot of cultures. For ex. some turkish pieces semble greek music. And some persian songs semble the turkish music, vice versa. Armenian and kurdish and persian have also common factors, since these three are the ancient inhabitants of these lands. Their music and culture influenced the arab and turkish music a lot. Indeed the turkish music is pretty modern (or let's say a "fake"), since the turks came from the middle asia through iranian lands to the place what they call today Anatolia or Turkey. They adopted a lot of cultural characteristics from greeks, the balkans, and especially from persian, kurds and armenians. The arabian music has it's own character... From an instrumental view influenced by iranian people. Conclusion: They may semble themselves but they are not the same. They have different modal systems and use different languages for their songs. This gives a big impact into the sung lyrics (themes etc.).
+Cenk Izoli you seem pretty well versed in this kind of music. Could you explain if there are any specific aspect of kurdish traditional music that is somewhat unique from other styles in the region? love the kurdish culture, and love this music.
