Hello dr Razdan and Dr Rana Thank you so much for your support to candidates who needed guidance. Can you please let me know how can I comnect to any one of you for once for one on one consultation.
Hello, such an informative video, i have a question. Dr Devyani shared about preceptorship experience at UCLA and mentioned that after completing preceptorship for atleast 9 months if not 12 months you're eligible to apply for a work visa and can work as a dental assistant or dental hygienist in Florida . My query is, can we work as a dental hygienist or dental assistant while doing DDS and for how long the work visa is valid and what does Dr. Devyani did after completing her preceptorship and getting accepted at UCSF ?
Hello! To answer your question, you are generally unable to work as a dental assistant during your DDS program because it’s a full time program and you may hardly get time. Additionally, to be able to work legally in the USA you need to be a US citizen or resident. If you are a citizen of any other country and on an F1 visa, you may only be eligible for on-campus jobs, provided your school issues you a work-study permit! Devyani is currently pursuing her DDS at UCSF and focusing solely on that. Hope this answer helps! For most programs AEGD is one year long. Some schools may even have a 2 year AEGD program. Best is to check individual school websites to ensure accurate information!
