Bonfire on Beach - taking the mystique out of watercolor

- Using a size 14 round brush. I painted on a piece of 10x7 cold pressed watercolour paper by Meeden to take the mystique out of watercolor wet-in-wet and getting a dramatic, luminous effect with minimum effort! This is a studio piece of process work, accompanied by torrential rain and with minimal editing. I hope you enjoy this taste of the authentic!

About my brushes
I have always bought my favorite brushes from Drawell direct from Japan. They are handmade in Japan. Drawell will ship readily to anywhere in the world. Seriously, I was just thinking the other day, "why does everyone paint the same things. Galaxies, landscapes, flowers, and oceans." You did something DIFFERENT!!!!! How fantastic. I haven't painted since 2022, and have pulled just puled them back out again, swatching, to get the feel for them... I want to do out of the norm, thanks for showing that in this video. For 13 years when I lived in the US Pacific Northwest, I heard the rain often, after awhile one doesn’t notice it so much.
I wish to thank you for this gorgeous beach landscape; you made it look easy. I doubt it will be for me! I’ve got some of the Kuretake paints now. I really enjoy using them. Of course I learned about them from you.

Beautiful. Seems to be raining a lot in Europe. Booked on a riverboat cruise which likely can’t happen as rivers too high😢
We often built fires along the beach in very Northern California and watched the sun fall into the ocean which seemed to emit a sizzling sound. The sunset were dramatic and beautiful. Although our fiery Montana sunsets still win the prize. Loved watching you paint the sky with such sure strokes of color and letting the water do the work. It will be 93 degrees today here in my backyard. Unseasonal heat for a Montana late September day. Breaking records. Fire season at the same time. 😮

Gorgeous! Can’t wait to try it! It’s 18 degrees here and my dog won’t go out to pee. Yuck! Means I have to get dressed and go with him. It’s supposed to warm up today, tho, so that’s good. These wonderful light paintings are getting me through this awful cold spell! Thank you, Diane!
