So all BIG BANG members parted ways with YGE in terms of solo activities/solo ventures. GD has his own label, Taeyang signed with The Black Label, Daesung has his own label/company called D-LABEL. TOP has not been active in SKOREA for his own personal reasons and it is understandable. He’s mostly abroad, doing the things that he wants to do as well as acting. He also said that he currently is not active in BIG BANG cuz they are all doing their own thing. So all BIG BANG members parted ways with YGE in terms of solo activities/solo ventures. GD has his own label, Taeyang signed with The Black Label, Daesung has his own label/company called D-LABEL. TOP has not been active in SKOREA for his own personal reasons and it is understandable. He’s mostly abroad, doing the things that he wants to do as well as acting. He also said that he currently is not active in BIG BANG cuz they are all doing their own thing. But for sure if he wants to and is ready to join the group, he totally would..it’s just SKOREA though..like ughh totally disliked how they treated him when he was going through so much!! But I digress, GD, Taeyang, and Daesung are still in contact and released HOME SWEET HOME single. They appeared in Daesung’s UA-cam channel and performed in MAMAs. So that made me extremely happy and for real! There’s just something about 2nd generation artists that is unique and different than the new generation. Don’t get me wrong that are very talented groups with good music nowadays, but I can’t help going back to 1st, 2nd, and even some 3rd generation Korean artists/groups in terms of music and everything. That literally is THE GOLDEN ERA OF KPOP for me. It was uniquely KPOP and not like anything else we heard in our side of the world. The music currently being released while they do cater more to the western audience, I see that some groups are trying to bring back that golden era kpop sound.
Ohh and even though GD did part ways with YGE, he still made time to help write lyrics for BABYMONSTER for “DRIP”.
The YGE executive producer even said BIG BANG/GD made YGE what it is today…before big bang and even when they had PSY..they were just a small hip hop label. But then look at them now, YGE is known to be a very unique and yet versatile company that produces quality artists! BIG BANG, 2NE1, AKMU, WINNER, IKON, BLACKPINK, TREASURE, and BABYMONSTER. Most of the groups are self-made as well meaning they know how to compose/produce their own music. A lot of members are ALL ROUNDERS aka ACES.. they sing, rap, dance, and compose..heck even act or be MCs in music shows/variety shows. It’s not just the YGE senior artists it’s also just the YGE trainers/producers that often collab, give feed back, and help develop YG artists in all their skills so they can get even better and improve.
But man oh man.. BIG BANG is my ULT GROUP and GD is my bias wrecker!! The man is just so unique and incredibly talented af!
