At ten minutes both solo laners are teleported into a mid lane last one standing cage match, where their teammates can bet on them to win
LMAO real money can be bet as well, lean into the gambling industry 💀💀
Smite 2 definitely feels like the same game with a patch update, but at the same time, not the best characters to start with. So, it feels a little worse at the same time.
I agree that it doesn’t seem like the team is displaying the talent & creativity very much. Which is rough, cause in Smite 1 they blamed the “spaghetti code.”
Been a fairly silent watcher for a while now. The overarching issue with Smite 2 is that I can't think of a single reason to swap over. Less gods, less skins, less content.. I understand it isn't fully out, but there's genuinely no appeal for players who aren't just looking for something fresh after playing the game like a full time job.
I mean, is that an issue? I'm sure they'd like more people playing to get more feedback, but their primary focus right now is adding content
Is it an issue that no new players have been brought in and the small player base is now further divided? No, it’s secretly a good thing. Have you tried throwing your employee badge directly against the screen yet?
@@famousmortimer7933 Brother, what are they supposed to do? Simply decide to make more content, as if they aren't already?
I never really played conquest over my 10 years of smite 1. It feels easier to finally get into conquest in smite 2. So, I've pretty much swapped over to smite 2 for now.
@@GenericUser860well they could have kept smite 2 dev internal for longer, not announce it even, only show the product once it was at a more complete state
but titan forge enjoy this open dev sort of thing, it's good for them, it's only my opinion that early access is a bad way to show any game to new/old audience
I have been an avid defender of Smite 2 and Hi-Rez, and a genuinely hopeful person. But this year since they announced Smite 2 and have been letting it out little by little, I can't help but feel wanting more. And I don't mean content, I mean direction, surprises, fun, replayability, etc. In the mean time I have tried different new games like Dungeonborne and deadlock, and those feel so so good right now. For the first time in YEARS I am actually playing other games than Smite and actually wanting to. Hi-Rez really needs to realize that we don't want Smite 1 carbon copy. Smite 2 kinda just feels like 1 big patch/update, not a new game. That being said I will remain patient and optimistic, but I know I can't be the only one feeling this way.
Absolutely. I'm praying that they aren't afraid to experiment and won't kowtow to the community if a change is initially unpopular.
I think we all feel this way, but we have to remember this is an alpha and in no way is this the full game. Just be patient and give them time to get the full game out before we decide if smite 2 is a success or not.
@@Kwc32 Both games mentioned, Deadlock and Dungeonborne, are not fully released either. We can't make excuses for Hi-Rez when they had so much time to work on getting new and old players interested in this game. Or it will fail.
Yeah S2 feels meh rn. Not too bad, but the lack of matchmaking and gods are the main two reasons imo that make it boring. Also, I agree that it's too lame to make a carbon copy of S1 in UE5, make more interesting changes.
Mages.. Merlin and Poseidon
ADC.. Heimdall and AMC
Guardians.. Geb and Cerb
Solo.. Herc and Wukong
Jungle.. Tsukiyomi and Rat
Thor and Ra should already be in as well .
Based
Fuck AMC... Aside from that, completely based
i started playing smite in year 11 about a month before the 9.5 revert, right at the end of things lolol, and i want to grind smite 2 like nothing else but none of my favorite gods thus far (surtr, mulan, tsuku, even cthulhu) are in the game and only one of those is confirmed to be coming sooner rather than later. i’m just waiting for my favorite gods to arrive before i fully commit to smite 2 like i have to smite 1. hopefully the devs listen to intersect’s video about the gods we want to see early cause that alone would help convince more players to make the switch
Maybe to have more rotations is that a random ingredient will spawn close to one of the three lanes and it has to be talen to a cauldron in solo lane. All players get bonus gold for their team when dropping one in the cauldron and a buff to the minions. If a team has put 3 different ingredients in the cauldron in total they get some sort of team buff.
i want beacon back, thats pretty new and makes fun 3v3's in the midgame, i think the side jungles need to be deleted entirely however (move the teleporters somewhere else)
I think each lane in conq should have its own "beacon" type objective that requires team grouping to complete.
Have the normal beacon in mid.
Make the warhorn in solo give each lane a trebuchet like how we used to have in smite 1
Add a new beacon type objective in duo lane that enhances all jungle buffs for a duration.
They need big interesting changes, like event gamemodes and maps. Upcoming halloween rewards and what not
A big issue is that they want feedback from the community and the community is split between "smite 1 but new" or "smite 2 is new". So the feedback theyre getting is very split, they need to focus on making new changes but bring returning gods so people feel familiar testing out new things. New items, new map changes, new god changes, exploring more than just ports with minimal changes. Jing wei showed what they can cook up for gods. On another note, they need to look at item stats because theyre getting bloated again and its the opposite of the direction they wanted
I'm pretty new to smite so I don't mind seeing old stuff because it's still new to me but that flag idea sounds perfect. Honestly they should add that because it's like unique I never heard of that in a moba
New game feels stale forsure , totem really? That’s what they could come up with?
The Hou yi bounce thing would be really cool if it gained an additional bounce each time it hit someone.
As for Solo, that side of the map needs more in general & always has. I don’t think totem should return either.
I’d actually prefer like a solo specific Juggernaut or something.
Something to make it so mid & JG either have to rotate to Solo to help, or solo has to rotate out to help them.
Replace totum with ronngyu
The problem with smite 2 is they’re not reworking or changing the gods enough to feel like a “TuRe SeQuEl” no one wants to wait 3-5 weeks for a god that’s basically the same as smite 1 without any of your skins ontop of that.
You know what baffled me the most? The moment they showed Mordred's gameplay and there was that little dash you can do with him by pressing spacebar.
That opened my eyes. And made me realise: for all 10 years of Smite the spacebar, the most convenient button to push on a keyboard, was right here, completely useless, only for leaving useless jump marks or teabagging your dead opponent.
There's so many skills in Smite 1 that feel like a waste of ability slot: small dashes or buffs that make you faster/give you power/lifesteal etc.
Locking them to a space button, while adding a brand new skill, thus seemlessly making all gods playable with FIVE abilities is something that would make them actually feel brand new.
You don't even have to replace silly jumping, just make it so that ability is activated after strike, by holding the spacebar or some other condition.
Yeah, Khepri for real.
They should make more impactful changes to some gods. The changes for most feel so minimal that they feel the same. Especially when Hi Rez was all about the new engine and doing new things.
I’m confused kinda? You are talking about an ALPHA version of a game? Why would you stop playing Smite 1? Like at least wait for the beta? Or maybe the actual release until jumping over?
I also think adding a soul urn to smite 2 would be a great idea. It's a fantastic objective. Maybe instead of silencing it could AOE lower your protections (scaling with game time) instead or something similar while carrying it.
Another idea I had would be adding some way to force 1v1s in solo. Maybe the side camp changes from gold camp to one that decreases tower damage in solo lane, drops a bomb that disables towers for 5-10 seconds, or puts an Odin cage around their tower line/lane.
Also, pre fire giant, I think they're should be a camp that spawns at 5 that gives teamwide xp and gold but reveals you and locks you into doing it. Something to encourage risky team fighting. Maybe the only way out is to use the FG door, but it takes 20% of your health instead.
The chests in the jungle should be added and always be an item shop. As far as I know there’s no way u can tell if its a shop or bracer. You could agro the chest minion somewhere so multiple ppl can use it and not have to back.
For me personally, Smite 2 is lacking what are I believe are it's strongest point: the new engine. We got a BUNCH of old gods with very basic kits. Mordred and Hecate are cool, but we need Merlin, KA, Lulu, Tyr, Ullr, Ishtar, Set. Characters with more depth to them. Still need classics like Ra, and Thor, but sprinkle them in with cool gods. Idk that just me tho
I hope they rework zues. Right now he is the weakest mid and his adc potential is also just not great. Feels like every other "mage" kit is so bloated compared to his, he is the only mid/adc with mana strain, his 1 range is abysmal compared to hecate/kuku, and he is also super unsafe.
Warriors: Guan and Herc
Assassins: Nemesis and hun batz
Mages: Ixchel and Persephone
Guardians: Thulu and kuzenbo
Hunters: Izanami and nut
i never played old pers but i like how she is now if in smite 2 they let her flowers proc items even if its 1 proc per plant id be so happy to see her early
I'm very low on experience in LoL, but one thing they do have is an early contestable objective on solo side. The void grubs (I think that's right?). That could be a good basis of an idea to make favoring toward solo feel worthwhile. I do like that totem is more of an active fight that just "hold interact" on warhorn, but agree that it would be nice if it was something new to make the new game feel fresh. Kind of like how they added bull demon in smite 1 there recently. Maybe something newer than just pulling a joust objective, but at least it was something.
They should have started smite 2 with a lineup of new and original characters. Why should I log in to smite 2 to play the same characters that I have already played a countless number of times for years. I mean the game doesn’t even have all the starters let alone a second upgrade path. The item shop sucks and character animations are stiff. It feels like they fell backwards with smite 2. I mean the game isn’t even welcoming for new players because the matchmaking is still that bad.
Assasin: Thor & Cleo
Adc: Chiron & Heim
Mage: Agni & Ra
Guardian: Geb & Cthulu
Warrior: Chu chulain & Surtr
Capture the flag would be pretty sick. Hell, make it totem but once you take it you have to deliver a flag that spawns, that way you can fight and have an objective. Make it have two spots to deliver as well for more gold in duo lane but one for mid as well. Also super looking forward to Baron. Support Baron might actually be fun now. Really hope Titan Forge starts making bigger changes.
Solo: Hercules, King Arthur
JG: Thor, Tsukuyomi
Mid: Poseidon, Ra
Support: Geb, Terra
ADC: Apollo, Medusa
Hunter- AMC and Artemis
Guardian- Geb and Sobek
Mage- Janus and Poseidon
Assassin- Thor and Ne zha
Warrior- KA and Sun Wukong
Mages: Hel,Ra
Assasins: Bakasura,Kali(both should get some kind of rework)
Warriors: Wukong,Hercules
Hunters: Medusa,Hachiman
Guardians: Terra,Khepri
11:50 I would honestly appreciate a neutral jungle camp more that any useless warhorn/totem/‘win-lane-give-team-irrelevant-amount-of-gold’ type of objective. It would create XP parity with the ADC and create more incentive for both solo landers to fight each other. For example right now if I have a choice between war horn and gold camp / blue invade, I will ALWAYS prio the camp because the warhorned wave dies to 1-2 abilities just like the regular wave after 1st item. Meanwhile if I don’t contest/invade I am potentially down 3-4 camps worth of resources in 12-15 min to the enemy ADC just because my ADC happens to be worse.
There's still months left they will bring those popular gods closer to official release. If they do it now who are they going to announce official release with ?
For me personally
Solo- guan yu, hercules(runner up king arthur)
Jungle- thor(obviously lmao), ravana (runner up bakasura)
Mid- merlin and Ra(runner up posiedon)
Adc- hachiman and ramma (runner up ullur)
Support- Geb, sobek (runner up cabrakan)
I'm still waiting for smite 2 to be free, I've given Hirez enough money over the years lol. I'm just glad they're doing some tournaments and what not so i can still watch pro play and it's really cool to see you in lane with Maks. I was pulling for you guys in the last worlds, hope to see y'all get your ring in smite 2 once they got the league going again.
2:40 Thor is arguably the BETTER character for the ‘noobs’ to play, because he teaches the player to use the same abilities differently:
- Level 1 Crook: Dunk-spin to win (4-3) while levelling the 3;
- Level 5 Goon: Dunk-stun-hammer-spin (4-2-1-3);
- Level 99 Mafia Boss: Full combo with auto cancels and variation choice (committing the double tap or hammering out because the auto cancel kills) while always maxing the hammer.
Meanwhile the closest thing to a character that rewards learning and skill expression we have in Smite 2 is Susano, who has been babied to the point where kit dumping in no particular order is generally sufficient to ‘outplay’ any other character. Sadje
Dude you need to play a damage role. Tank roles get so ignored in this game. You’d probably have a trophy by now if you played Jungle.
To answer your question for adc i want Charybdis. Support/mid i want Aphrodite and hel. They already put in the character i play in solo soo ig Horus i also play him in support as well. For jungle idk hmmm probably Lancelot or Mercury.
At 5 or 10 min a portal opens up in solo where 2 people or 2 people from each team are allowed to go inside and secure an objective that gives them an int or strength buff that lasts for a minute or two.. this can also be anything thing, team gold, buffs, or even items, like from the 2v2v2v2v2 game mode. personally, I just want them to make the map different, and make it interactive for example at 10min the map changes and new areas open up, add spots where monsters spawn that drop little buffs like 100% movement speed for like 10 seconds or give like 10 permanent health, protections, strength intelligence, etc. I like the look of the jungle practice area.. those 2 statues look so good and the river. why isn't that in the actual map...the potential is there.. they are just not taking advantage of it yet, instead of just copying things from Smite 1 they should just try out and add new things.. that is the whole point of this alpha.. each week there should be a new gimmick or something. Also, obj's needs to change i wouldn't mind fighting a dragon instead of fg
The problem is that they’re just making the exact same game that is already not doing well, which is why they need the 2nd one to begin with.
There is absolutely no innovation, and it feels like a skeleton patch. What on earth is there for a new audience to be excited about, exactly? What new things is it doing for the genre? What’s the unique experience they can capture interest with at this point?
They CAN do things, but the foundation not being built around any innovation isn’t promising.
IMO Smite 2 should add a mechanic where the solo laners interact with something and are then transported to a mini-arena with reset health/mana/cooldowns and fight to the death for a gold bounty. Kinda like Iso's ult in Valorant. After the fight both players respawn at their tier 1 towers with the same amount of health/mana/cooldowns that they had before. So it's essentially a forced 1v1 where the loser doesn't lose anything but the winner gets gold.
I would die if they added Yamata No Orochi probably be a mage/assassin, And because they already have Susano in game I'm sure they could make some cool interactions on both sides, for the map maybe I'm biased but I really don't think the teleporters are honestly that cool, and in the outer bits of the map I'd love some sort of replacement for them, my first idea would be to have a camp/roaming obj for both solo and duo lane (for duo lane give it some sort of adc reward and solo give it a tank reward) maybe I'm crazy but if you kill it you get a teleport shard rather than physical teleporter, not sure if this is coherent but thats my thought process
I’d like the flag idea if you had to deliver it to the enemy back camp or base door. Delivering it to mid just feels uncontested especially in uncoordinated games. Also it should cripple you while you carry it and should be dropped if you use a global ult like Thor ult or something. 500 team wide gold scaling to 1000 at 15 minutes or so. Basically smite football on the solo side
I think gods with lots of viability like Baron are a great idea, but I don't know how they haven't implemented a god like agni or thoth yet.
I’ve always said smite two doesn’t not LOOK different from smite 1 and get tons of hate from hi rez jock riders. It’s literally the same game just worse from the looks of it.
Also they're not going to put all their good ideas for new kits on old gods they are going to save that for new gods imo which is further down the road i think people just need to be patient
They should have neutral fountains or death zones, constantly dealing damage where warhorn is. Whichever team sacrifices enough heath while standing in the zone will unlock healing / item buying like the friendly fountain in base
as someone who has played smite casually since s2 this is the least exciting smite has been for me ever, as far as i can recall, ironic i suppose
i have no interest in trying smite 2 that's in early dev and smite 1 is not getting any exciting updates, probably as result of smite 2's dev
smite 1 doesn't even have the pro scene anymore which indirectly made the game different because it shifts the casual god/item/strategy a bit every now and then
i don't have any hope in particular for smite & don't expect devs to cater to me, just saying right now im not excited about either smite game
I think a major area that hirez sold was the interact key. With mordred they basically gave him a 5th ability, why not do that with every character? That would mean that even on characters from s1 that they didnt make many changes to (like Susano or Thanatos) they would still have something new in their kit.
Im just sad everyone doesnt want Osiris to be in the game. When they put him in Smite 2 Id like his kit to be similar and maybe make his 3 a bit more versatile and do more. Make him super hybrid and not just AA.
They could put the midlane capture king of the hill objective into the fire pit every 5 until the fire spawns maybe, or something similar
to answer your title what smite 2 needs is to go back to its roots. if i wanted to play lol or dota type of games then i would go play those games. i liked smite because it was different. it wasnt the typical cookie cuter moba. i know everyone is sticking up for smite 2 cuz its new and they have a soft spot for hirez but the game is not good. matchmaking sucks characters look worse then smite 1 the everyone builds everything is junk. makes the game so unbalanced. not to mention they screwed us all on the legacy gems. and for those that say they were upfront about it shut up no they were not. i might be the minority but i just wanted like a smite 1.5 better looking game with different kits and a new type of map. or even a rotaion of conquest maps. i know the game is early and can get better and i am sure it will but can any1 play more then 1 or 2 games in a row?
I’m not sure if anyone else has heard previously but I recently heard a neith quip talking about Artemis idk if it was added in as a small hint as to who might be next but I would love to see her added in.
More gods obviously helps but they need to get the bugs under control. The balancing is also really bad right now and the gold fury turning off towers is awful.
That flag thing was a good idea it could also be a creature called bungle that when killed drops his juff (skull) and you deliver it to mid lane for global gold
I want Heim so bad that is a nutty mechanic for smite 2
I agree that the game went stale a bit in smite 2 but I feel like adding too much to k the map maybe over stimulating.
The swap in mid to get rid of gold is smart when it comes to the flag idea it could work like a player made minion where it takes certain amount of autos to drop it. Or if the player dies, when captured it offers gold and a super mini fg buff, think like shard length, or a bit longer.
Smite 2 has been great but match making or the lack of it is killing it for me. Games are so one sided when you win it’s no fun when you lose it’s no fun
Yem and baron? I thought the patch cycle was 2 old gods and 1 old and 1 new that were alternating.. maybe I heard wrong
They could shape the map so solo and mid are a little closer, and mid to duo is a little further. Make it easier to rotate mid and vice versa. Probably a ridiculous idea.
2 things i would change and thats it
1: me being a console player the shop is literally a chore to navigate. They need to change it so its more similar to how it was in smite 1. Dont change something that wasnt broken.
2: I actually enjoy Magical/physical better than strength/int. just easier to understand but i could be biased because thats what i know
Okay, fine
Geb idea: his ult is more defensive and I stead of a CC on the enemy is gives a scaling shield to all allies in his radius
Love your positivity man! Most of the CC are debbie downers, its refreshing to hear some good energy! 😎
Personally i just like totem as a short term replacement for warhorn as warhorn is lame too.
Bro narwhals are awesome, they invented the shish kebob
Spoiler it’s yemoja and baron smh
Kujira needs to be added before anyone else
I really enjoy the side lane teleporters
Bro wants the Soul Urn in Smite 2
Do NOT add tp relic
anyone has spare key for steam?
is this game doa be honest
Smite 1 is far more fun for me
Just needs SWK
give scylla plz
YU HUANGGGG LET PEGON COOK
Solo: Achilles and Arthur
Sup: kuzen and geb
Adc: medusa and arty
Mid: ix chel and morgan le fae
Jungle: tsuki and ARACHNE
All Smite 2 needs is the "improved matchmaking". And Chaacs moan on all of his skins and ult.
I think it would be cool if they brought back 'smite classic' instead of making smite 2. Like going back to season 1, with all the old items, gods, maps, everything (just tweaking what needs to be tweaked)
Smite 2 is gonna be dead within the next 18 months, and Smite will likely follow soon after. Splitting an already modest player base was mind-numbingly short-sighted.
I want smite to be simplified. I'm not saying it as a bad player, I was masters in Smite 1 averaging 2800 mmr, so not pro level but definitely could handle myself better than most. I realized practically every single person who I tried to get into the game has the same problem of it being too overwhelming, they end up in arena and eventually get bored but too overwhelmed to grind hours of conquest or watch hours of content just to get used to the basics. This doesn't mean to make gods easy, it more so means to revert the map closer to something like S5 with some changes and reduce rotations in the early game as well as how much there is to do while also increasing the benefit for getting kills. S1 is just: wave, camp, wave, camp, wave, rotation into camps etc. It's a farming simulator and really, kills are almost never worth it until much later in the game. I haven't played s2 and not played s1 this year but that's how it always was so i doubt that changed. This is something I think league has over Smite, other than marketing, it's just so simple to get into, I go to play LoL to relax after Smite. You just sit in lane, last hit, maybe fight a bit, not rotate until later etc. The game is still difficult cause you have difficult characters and the ceiling is very high with minmaxing (I think smite is a game of macro whereas league is a game of micro), getting an understanding of the LoL is also incredibly easy. Plus it's a MOBA so if you kill people you get rewarded as you should. In other words, make the map, rotation, farming etc. easier but make gods and micro like last-hitting, mp management etc. more complex.
This is a deeply unpopular opinion lmao
@@GenericUser860 I'm not surprised, people hate changes and this one is huge. I think it'd be healthy for the playerbase but it's incredibly unlikely to happen
