My mother-in-law told me that God told her that her son was not hers. Her job is to steward him, and she poured into him. She raised him with me in mind. She prepared him to be a great husband, and my God, he is. I thank her so much for thinking of me while raising him.She is not pushy in any way, and because she is not, I comfortably invite her into our lives.

After years of stress and anxiety I gave my teenage son back to the Lord and told Him, he's yours Lord, I trust you with his life, I can't control or micromanage his relationship with you anymore or his decision, only his environments. The same week I began trusting the Lord I instantly saw my son beginning to wrestle with his faith again, I took a heavy burden off and l wish I would have done it sooner.
I don't know what my son will do, but I trust the Lord's plan in his life, because of who God is. This didn't happen overnight, it took me years to trust the Lord with my kids, through learning His character (by reading my entire Bible and watching the Perry's) I am learning to trust the Lord because He is holy and sovereign, therefore He is good.

I was a single mother of two boys are both now in their 30s. I tried to raise my boys in the knowledge and love of God. My oldest is now married and has 2 kids, I did not find it difficult to fall back and allow my daughter in law to be his person. Both will call when they may have issues, and I try to speak life into their marriage and give them biblical marriage foundations. I love my daughter in law, because my son loves her and she is truly a nice young woman. My son is always my priority but I will not allow him to do something wrong. I am not the mother, not my son, and I remind them, that they are one together and never allow anyone disrespect them together or apart and never allow people to disrespect their marriage, because that is a way of disrespecting them.

Priscilla brought tears to me eyes and gave me such revelation and clarity when she shared about the Shire last name and the assignment on her boys life to carry that name with the grace God meant and gave them. My last name was going to die with my brother as he has fathered many children, none of which carries his name. Like the Shire men before her husband, my last name does not carry a good reputation among the men in my family. The Lord blessed me with with an amazing son who has such a heart for God and has such a clear calling on His life and I also got chills and cried when I realized my son is going to be the one to break the generational curse of broken men and legacies in my family and those before me. It was a powerful moment for me and I’m going to ask God to give me the words to translate this message to him in a way that sticks with and impacts him in the way I believe The Holy Spirit is counting on Him. This was so powerful. Love Priscilla, love The Perry’s.

I could not read as a young kid and teenager, but I loved the word of God and I would sit and force my self to read even if I didn’t know all the words and I take classes at the adult school until I learned to read and for the past 34 years I could sit and read God’s word for hours and listen to all of you. Oh my word, Mrs. Priscilla.......if only I knew this when I was raising my boys, I did exactly what you said, "keeping them in a package" I did not due them justice by doing this, in the moment I thought I was doing the right thing. They were "raised in the church" but have chosen not to follow God as adult men, I have laid it before the Lord and asked Him to take His sons' back. I have come to the realization they were never my sons to begin with but His. I pray for them everyday and will continue to do so and I know my God can bring them back into His loving arms if it is HIS will....I believe this with all that I have. So 1stly I lovvvvvvveeeeeeeee this colab!!! Ms. Priciller, I love her storytelling way of the interpretation of the scripture without adding or taking away for THE WORD and I'm here because I love The Perrys.
That being said, I really think that part about her sons wives asking her for help when her sons are sad, ( or in an argument and stuff) I think it's important that she also gives recognition to the wife, because they are also nervous about her son. The son she knows (as mother and son) is not the same as the son a wife know (as husband and wife.) She has to give them the space to learn each other because that's a totally different dynamic. She did say she's praying about it and it's so necessary that as parents and wives we pray about these different aspect of our relationships.

This was great thank you! I had my first boy 2yrs ago after 4 girls. It has been a challenge trying to figure out what he needs me to be besides his mother. My girls were easy and mostly teens now. Funny because my son is NOT 🚫 a mommas boy but daddy's boy. He really loves his dad and can't wait to see him when gets home every day and he will search him out when us girls get on his little nerves. Even homeschooling him is different than when my girls started homeschooling at this age.
I always thought if I ever had a boy, I wouldn't know what to do with him, but God Is helping me and showing me everyday, I'm content in knowing he has a strong man of God as his father. I love the perspectives you all gave. 🙌🏾💯

30:08 this was the biggest encouragement! My two are toddlers. I’ve wanted to start young with doing devotions together and consistently praying TOGETHER before bed etc. But when it didn’t go over well I’d be discouraged to continue; it made it easy to blow off because “they’re young”. But I like how she said her parents intentionally decided to do things as a unit vs allowing chaos or frustration to create distance/division. It is exhausting but it is necessary!

34:57 that’s so good to know! My daughter is 9 today and talks sooo much. She talks back but the things she’s saying back are true so I can’t get too mad because it’s like “you’re right but…” it’s like she just can’t help herself. I’m going to pray I can help her with the gift and not destroy it or suppress it.

This interview was awesome. I love the Perry’s. The two of them together do a great job of asking ‘those’ questions. They leave no stone unturned. On another note Priscilla, Priscilla you are the GOAT. You, your testimony AND your style has allowed me to want to be closer to God in communication meaning it has definitely changed my prayer life. The Forge is one to see. I bought tickets for the wrong night so I obviously showed up the wrong day. Still wanted to see it so I bought tickets for the next day BUT the kicker was at the end of the movie you could gift it to others. So I gifted more tickets. What an awesome way to bless others. Kendrick brothers, keep those intentional movies coming our way. Thank the three of you for a great teaching during this episode. Perry’s please continue to show ordinary people can do extraordinary things through God. I will to continue to pray that you both keep your movement for God in all aspects of your life. We love you and what you bring to us. Amen and amen!

This was such a blessing to me. I'm nearly in tears. My husband and I have a young son, the baby of our crew, and it's been challenging at times. He's also a gifted communicator with a strong will. I've felt defeated and very conscious of my flawed approaches to parenting him. As I listened today I felt hopeful. I actually had the thought, "I can learn to do this better." Now I'm thinking, "We can learn to do this better." Thank you for sharing your godly wisdom and honest experiences. May God bless and refresh each of you. BTW- Saw the movie, it was wonderful.

I went to the theatre and watched the movie The Forge, every church should go and watch that movie. The Lord has been so pressing on my heart to learn how to be a faithful d disciple, as you say, Jackie, studying knowing the Bible, and I think since my daughter died, a few years back I got lost in that, but I never lost the Lord. I just lost somewhere and somehow the desire to study his word intentionally so thank you ladies and gentlemen for your wisdom and faithfulness.

Me trying to listen to this podcast while I go to sleep and then having a delayed reaction to Jackie saying “I was, I was 10 in 99..” and bursting into laughter. Maybe it’s just me but how she said it made it extra funny. 😂
I think what made it more humorous to me is that I can totally imagine a 10 year old sophisticated Jackie at a Christian conference with Priscilla teaching back in 99 like young Jesus was chilling in the temple lol.
