What a wonderfull woman. I was captivated by the authenticity of her fragmented memories. As a child she lived unthinkable experiencees if dread. It was moving to hear how sensitive she was towards her mothy, her strong wish to crawl away but the thought about leaving he mother alone.....
I think it was unfortunate that the interviewer talked so much and did not let her narrate more freely. She interfere so many times........

You may be right but this is one of the few "interviewers that knew how to "read and write" an expression that I made up. Figure it out!

Beautiful woman and family! I was raised in Sunnyside! I lived on 40 Street and 47 Avenue. Then on 41 Street and 48 Ave. I wonder if she went to Ps 199 and Ps 125 .

    I am sad for Jonathan.
My daughter likely feels the way he does. As a second generation, I overburdened my daughter.

The challenging part in listening to this interview is that the interviewer obviously knew something of this person's story beforehand. Therefore, when she is interviewing her, we miss part of the story because both of them think we already know that information..The before the war story is patchy, at best. Thanks

+Susan Evers Yes, it's quite annoying when you're used to the very minimal interruption in the other interviews. And so much of the interruption is unnecessary, for instance: Claire: "And then we went back to the village and...." Interviewer interrupts: "Your mother took you back to the village." Well, duh, that's what she already said! It's unfortunate that we don't get to hear Claire just talk without being interrupted, sometimes even after just talking for a half-minute.

I hope that now the holocaust is so well known about that children of the survivors can be more comfortable and understanding of their parents.

Maybe consider a little compassion for a young man put on the spot to talk about how having two parents as Holocaust survivors affected him. It affected his entire life. He could have spouted some nice platitudes, but that's not who he is. And because the answer is so complex, he had trouble expressing himself.

Uncalled for comment James. He didn't want to hurt his parents, but obviously their experiences impacted his life growing up.

He could have said "It impacted my life,it has hard, but I'm grateful that they've survived and I'm sad that most of my family didn't."
