Hi all, Adam Marans, co-writer and producer of We Wanted Children here, filling in for our director Tim O'Connor as he celebrates his wife's first mother's day as a mom. We are thrilled to be premiering on Alter on this thematically appropriate holiday, and I'll be hanging out here in the comments to answer questions about the short!
@Xoxo♡ Thanks for your interest! We like to keep things kind of opaque, but after failing to provide Ginny a child, Mason seeks out an otherworldly solution to their problem
The beginning dialogue of this is so realistic and raw. Its literally like watching me and my husband. "Thank you for breakfast" trying to be kind when you are literally furious with him but dont want to fight. The look of shock and irritation when he dismisses her worries about her hair. Spot on.
What can he say, after he's taking her hair for his night time purposes. His new friends requested some weird shit, and some locks of hair from her wife was the most affordable of all.
Through what horrid, dark realms did this man wander to find such an unholy abomination? What cost in tears and blood? And what horror is now unleashed upon the world? Lovecraft would be proud!
Keith: Unholy abomination is an appropriate word for it. I couldn't have put it better!!! They really are such horrible creatures. All they do is scream and poop all day and night, for 24/7. Far more of a horror to have them than not to have them.
This one dellivers quite a thought provoking experience. There is a sadness and early grief to it. There is also beauty in the intent. Then the horror comes in what was the cost and what will be the cost which is left up to the viewer imagination. That is superb. I felt the acting and the pacing and atmosphere worked for the story. Great work and thanks to all involved.
This channel offers much better horror contents than big horror movies productions... Alter always brings original stories, great directions and acting 🖤🖤🖤
@@lucas-9840 First of all I don't think I said but welcome to ALTER! ALTERS catch phrase "you will be altered". Secondly a few that just pop in my head "Slut". "Fragile" "Piggy" and "Demon" ...but I have more absolutely love just trying to remember all the titles. Keep in mind what I love you might not so watch them all anyway. I also started scrolling through now and "Evenfall" is amazing. I actually just rewatched one called "VW" and I remember when I watched it the first time I was like "what is this?" but I went with it and it's cheesy but it's awesome. I don't know if it's one of my favourites but you should watch it just to understand what I am saying.
@@lucas-9840 I should also mention "The Dollmaker". Somehow it wasn't the one that led me to ALTER. I think it was second or 3rd one I watched but it is the one that leads a lot of people to watching more ALTER and it is an amazing short.

Loved it🖤😂Mason is just a sweet husband...👏🔝great work everyone involved in this horror short film. The tension built between these 2 great actors keeps you on the edge wondering what's next
In my opinion far more horror to "have" one of those creatures than "not" to have one. This must be the reason the guy was going into Hell to search for one - because he knew it was a certainty he would find one there.
Quite a surprize.the ending opens the door to our imaginations.great acting, kept u interested on what the f.he was doing.i want to see more.thank u for your great work.turn this short into a full length movie and it would be a great success.a gem in the making
I'm getting fond memories of when, in Bloodborne, I see a living corpse of a bride at the top of a huge tower, followed by hearing the cries of a small baby being tended to by a nurse.
I think their baby died in the past and the wife keeps nagging the husband because somehow it was his fault. The story's damn scary and makes you think of "The Other Side of the Door" bringing a baby back from the dead.
Is it bad that I laughed? I mean, does that say something about me? It was just so unexpectedly hilarious. It didnt help much that as she walked toward the freezer I was already thinking "What;s in the box?? Whats in the boooox"! Then dud pops up with the baby and she just starts up to playing with it. It was so unexpected AND hilarious at the same time!
Lmmfao 😂❤ ohhhhhh I loved it ❤... Im going to have to show my oldest daughter this and tell her it's how she was born lmmfao.... And to add to it her name is Angel 😂 ... She's 19 and rolls her eyes at me and tells me I'm weird lols this would just put the toppings on the cake 😂❤🎉.... HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY 💐💐💐❤️❤️❤️
To make this a full length film and see what mason had to do to get the child would be interesting*** The acting on these 2 were absolutely incredible!! ❤️❤️❤️I too agree the wife resembles Ellen Burstyn even her expressions were so much let her❤️❤️. Love this can’t get enough of these videos ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
these two XD their acting was... **chef kiss** wow, I was so intrigued and got pulled in so much that I sometimes forgot this was a movie... and the dudes eyes, what's with those eyes... like he has seen things nobody suppose to... it makes sense at the end, knowing where he had to go to in order to fulfil his promise XD crazy dude, the big, bad satan is probably raising hell XD in search for the missing baby
*Spoiler warning* I love that she didn't reject the baby in the end. It adds a lot to the creep factor that even though she's horrified by the secret he kept, they're both so desperate for a child that they're okay with it.
"Anything for Jasckson" vibes. The actress did a lot of her acting with just her eyes/facial expressions, top-notch! Love how everything falls into place at the end; had no idea where this was going and that's how i like it! cheers
0:25 COMPLETE disgrace. the captions say "owl hooting" when that is CLEARLY the call of a mourning dove. unwatchable. terrible. 10,000 dislikes FOREVER no but this was a really good short actually
Theyre angry cause they cant have children??? In my country is the opposite, people get angry cause they have children before starting a relationship and also mame awful parents traumatizing the children😂

Can you explain whats going on in the film?

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers!! May your day be happy, relaxing, peaceful and blessed!💐🥰🤗❤
Well now that I watch this relatively my mothers day was pretty good. After all I didn't have my husband come out of a blood freezer with a baby.
I'm getting fond memories of when, in Bloodborne, I see a living corpse of a bride at the top of a huge tower, followed by hearing the cries of a small baby being tended to by a nurse.
Well: At least this is technically a rare case of a horror film with a happy ending?
Interesting!! What sacrifices did he make in order to manifest this child? I would love to see more.
an unexpectedly intimate and tender study. i loved this
I think their baby died in the past and the wife keeps nagging the husband because somehow it was his fault. The story's damn scary and makes you think of "The Other Side of the Door" bringing a baby back from the dead.
