On one hand, hogan was best friends with bischoff and was the biggest wcw star but on the other hand, shawn was buddies with nash and hall who also held backstage stroke. If the hbk was treated bad, the kliq would leave and no kliq means no nWo. Both of them had two of the biggest egos in wrestling history so it would've been fun to see both of them use their golden shovels against each other. SS 2005 was a taster session.

The Kliq as they were known decided they didn't think he should be given a title run and they decided to use their power backstage to try and stop it happening. At the time the Rock was young and didn't know what to do. Thankfully the Undertaker had heard about what was going on. He knew the Rock had a huge future in the WWE and would be a great champion. The Undertaker went to Vince and used his powers to get Vince to ignore the Kliq and give the Rock his first title run.

There was a good stretch ~'97 where WCW's Roster was so bloated it would make WWE's Pre-Pandemic (Pre Nick Khan) roster look anemic... god love the likes of Lanny Poffo, Marty Janetty, Rick Martel etc but WCW was paying them all Prime Money a good 5 years past their prime... and from what I read Poffo worked less than 5 matches during his time with the company and most talent below a certain tier were never asked/required to attend the venue... essentially making them 'no-show jobs'

WCW made Sting DDP And Goldberg, everyone else was from outside. They didn't really make any Stars.
Luger, Flair, Vader, Muta, Sid, Dusty... quite a few more. But different level of star stature. They also did the L.O.D., Harlem Heat and The Steiners.
