Interesting guide, I always wondered why having the box made it sell better than when I didn't. Like, I could have mined on this 1080 harder than District 12, this cardboard don't change that baby.

    Average Craigslist computer part ad:
    "Mint condition,
    Never overclocked,
    Can't show it working,
I want twice what it sold for brand new,
Meet up in a dark alley, cash only." 😉

Have purchased non-PC components/items from eBay, CraigsList, and Amazon with good results. Am just starting to look for PC components for my first PC build. The information you provided in the video will help me, and a LOT of other people, in their search for good, used parts.

I bought half of my computer from second hand, im from Spain and i usually check forums. In ebay the products are a bit overpriced in my opinion.
For example, i bought my gtx 780 in november for 150€, is not a bad deal, is what i found for that price at the moment, and paired it with a xeon x5460 and 8GB DDR2 800MHz ram, then i bought from a store the PSU, hard drive, SSD and a CM Evo 212x, i consider this things to be necesary new because they are not as expesive as a graphics card or a CPU.
In the end i paid 320€ for the entire system, the only thing is that the MOBO is a bit broken and sometimes causes troubles, but i changed it with and FX-6100 that i got for free from a familiar because he has bought a Ryzen 5 and gave to me the FX. Now the system is completly stable and a very good budget gaming rig, not the best price/performance but it can play the lastest games with very decent performance (i usually set the graphics quality to medium to achieve 60fps, but i know the limits of my hardware and im not disapointed if i have to drop something or block it to 30fps)
I have with overclock the cpu to 3.7GHz and the 780 with a little boost of 100MHz to the core and 200MHz to the memory without rising the voltage.

Craigslist all the way! After having a friend get scammed on EBay I'll never touch it. With CL I get to meet the person and inspect the item physically before I turn over cash if buying. The PC I built for my daughter last month was from CL parts and it works perfectly.

Brian Joseph I’ve been using eBay for 15 years. Never been scammed once. Over 500 bought items and 1000 sold.

Selling my graphics card on craigslist.... like 7 scam texts, 2 legit offers one $200 below market value, the other $75 below. Just to save ebay fees or dealing with mailing the damn thing, I'm tempted to see if he'll go up another $50.... dealing with people sucks, it's why most ppl don't actually run businesses.

I bought myself a EVGA SC 980TI for $250. Matches the 1070 for $150 less.

Laiks man, I'd love to find a 980 ti for that much. I have a 960 and want a 980ti because they can usually go for around $300 & like u said it's similar in power to a 1070. Where'd you snag that deal, and did the 980ti work fine?

i need to know more on how to judge an items worth, without asking others to apprise it for me. Is that Tower really worth $663? or is it only worth $400 and so on.

Built my HTPC from almost entirely open box items from Microcenter and Amazon, only new thing I bought were the hard drives. You can score some decent deals from them.

how do you handle the cost of shipping when coming up with a price for selling pc parts. Do you include an estimate shipping cost, do you just eat the shipping cost and just ask for a higher price up front, or do you ask the buyer for a zip code to find out a price and than split the cost or tell the buyer they have to pay or that you will pay?

hardware swap has a price check thread where you type in the model of item and someone can usually message back with an estimate. you can also compare to what they go for on ebay and drop that price 10-20% if its reasonable. you can also search hardwareswap to see if someone else has sold a similar item and go from their price
