It's even crazier when Parodius and Gradius are both made by Konami. They do have a sense a humor, or at least used to.
NO SHIT, sherlock. That’s why The Vic Viper is called the Vic Viper in this game, and the Title is a portmonteau of the words „Parody” and „Gradius”. This isn’t the only time Konami made a Cutesy Parody of one of their game Franchises, and Yes, It’s a normal THING they do. Does Kid Dracula ring a bell?
No I haven't. And did you really decide to comment on something said 4 years ago? Troll much?
45:40 Konami were way ahead of their time with that "other" gender option, joke or not.
The remixes of classical pieces really slap.
I've been trying to recall this game for years!!!!!
So from what I understand, Parodius is about Konami releasing shooters like Gradius 3 early on in console lifespans, then learning from their mistakes and making Parodius games that are twice as fun and five times weirder.
parodius on snes is hard but fair, if died few times the rank will drop constantly and good chance to recover
Still one of my favourite snes games still play it today. Some of the best character designs seen on shoot em ups
7:51 Nice view.
43:20 sounds like he said "I am a god!"
One of my favourite shmup series. Fantastic soundtrack in all of them. I wish some competent developer revived it.
This one is still great even if made a bit redundant by the richer sequels.
There was a GameBoy version of Parodius as well. I remember hearing the catboat thing and looking at someone's else GameBoy that was playing Parodius back in the early 90's and seeing the pirate catboat thing in a green and black colour.
"Non-Sense Fantasy"
Ya got that right!
44:03 DOY!!!! ...I just cleaned that windshield for the Vic Viper!!!
7:30 wait until you see the gameboy version, absolute nighmare fuel.
14:15 IIRC somewhere around the start of that area was a hidden warp point to a bonus level. At least in the Gameboy Version.
Joguei muito na minha infância 🤣😃☺️
it feels like an acid trip.. in the from of an shoot'em up
I M O
@20:00 the famous "face" on mars in the background
Amazing game! Music too!! Clever programming there is no slowdown and 100’s of sprites people! 😎 👍
Wow this game so awesome and cool 😎
The boss girl is damn pretty!
I love how the final stage was a pain in the ass while the final boss was a piece of cake 😅😅
Maybe It’s because It’s Based on the Brain Final Boss from the original Gradius 1.
Qu'est ce que j'ai pu m'éclaté sur ce jeu. Merci la la SNES de nous avoir fait passé des moments magnifique.
Still love it! ❤️
I lov this
The octopi and penguins are so adorable
I love these games, though I wish some of the innovations they made had carried over to a new Gradius game late in the SNES's life. I can't remember which one it is, but one of these games has a little flying Dracula that had the Axelay's weapons! The power-up system was totally different for him and the little stick figures in the paper airplanes. It was such a cool feature. The only way I've ever gotten to play them is through emulation, though.
I think it was the SNES version of Gokujo that had Dracula-kun in it.
On second thought, I seem to remember him being in Oshaberi as well, but I don't think he was in the original SNES version.
@@NintendoComplete Kid Dracula was in Oshaberi... but on the Ps1 and Saturn versions (and the PSP re-release that includes the other games) and must be unlocked first by either finding all of the fairies (I can't remember if you need to get the 2 sets or just the SNES original set) or beating the game on it's default hardest difficulty without using a continue... well, at least that's what I remember how I did it, I can be wrong since it has been a while since I played the game.
@@PikangsFutaba you can access dracula right away with cheat codes (must be entered at main menu)
7mins20seconds in...possibly the best boss theme ever, I mean come on??? Too good, wonder how many were too distracted and hit the lady by mistake? lol
A damned impressive arcade port, and the Parodius with the least amount of slowdown in it. Hopefully someone does to all 3 of these games what they did for Gradius III by removing it's slowdown with the SA-1 chip method.
This version censored a few things, including the clown heads. Instead of crossing appearing over their head when they are defeated, you get what looks to be a windup key.
Gradius III doesn't need additional Chip to run faster. The SNES hardware itself can handle it.
@@Vinicius-hs2rf Game hackers have removed the slowdown, a method they call the SA-1 method (named for the SA-1 processor chip). No it doesn't use a chip as the ROMS can be burned and put into a cart, and a real SNES can run it without the slowdown. Might want to look up videos on the game with the hack, it's truly a wonder. What the hackers are doing is patching the mistakes developers made in the 90's with SNES games (the slowdown can be reduced in every game they decide to work on, and the console can run these same games with no slowdown at all. Shows the SNES was capable of running games at blazing speeds, but programmers had limited tools to work with, and had trouble programming for the console. Gradius 3 with this hack runs faster than shumps even on other consoles, like the Genesis, perhaps too fast, as they produced another hack to slow the game back down a little).
@@Bloodreign1 I think you might be getting mixed up with the terms.
SA-1 hacks really uses the SA-1 chip, you can only play on original hardware using the expansive SD2SNES flashcart or with a donor old SA-1 game.
Other hacks just converts the game to use FastROM addressing, so the SNES can read the ROM at his full speed of 3.58 MHz instead of 2.68 MHz. Those are the ones that don't need any helper chip, just a regular ROM.
I've converted this Parodius to FastROM. It doesn't remove every slowdown, but it gives a good boost.
This is a cool little💎💎💎. OMG, the cat-boat....
PS : i didn’t know Last Action Hero had a game.
NintendoComplete you’re right. Too bad because the movie was good(to me of course).
PS : i knew Dick Tracy had a NES adaptation but Dirty Harry ?!
@@luciebureau6815 Dirty Harry was actually pretty good! Hard as shit, but I really liked it. It also has a really impressive bit of voice (His "Go ahead, make my day" speech) used for the ending. Mad Max is another oddball NES movie game that I liked, have you seen it beforw?
NintendoComplete I’m agree with the voice😊.
I just saw your gameplay of Mad Max, it was good ! The only thing that i didn’t like was the music.
26:10 There she is
@@jasai2021 Is that crying? Are you sure it isn't just moaning and writhing?
Lmao doesn't it look like she's tickling the underside of .... whatever .... she might be cupping in her mind with that hand gesture? And then it kinda turns into a slow tug toward the end? Hahahahaha
It's called Non-Sense for a reason.
懐かしい!
Good game good music and good colours good
26:34 WOW sound effect
19:57 maicon kuster
2:45 WTF???? TWIN BEE and Gradius ????? I can't believe!!!!!
Wow...Wie kann man dabei nicht hopps gehen😮
Gradius and Stinger had a baby. And it is this. O______o
Cool
43:06 is my favorite track. Aircraft Carrier
Amo este juego ^-^
Se parece bastante com o Gradius II muito bom
fun game
Lock me baby!!
Jogo maravilhoso
Parodius? Never even heard of this. Is it some kind of rom hack? I've seen Gradius, Super R type, but never heard of this. Feels like I'm watching a parallel universe Gradius.
Its reap alright. One of my snes games. Used to play it a lot back in the days
Crazy game interesting fact at 36:00 they play vega's theme from street fighter II 🤔🤔🤷🏾♂️
The fun part is that maybe this game has more quality than the Snes Games
In a real world context can a little port space fighter has some chance against a giant space battleship?i mean,a small fighter is hard to hit n a big battleship looks very resistent against shots n misseles...
38:30 war mein bestes Ergebnis. Weiter kam ich nie. Die power fehlte um die Schweine vor dem crash zu vernichten. Geniales Spiel trotzdem... Würde heutzutage so nicht mehr produziert werden dürfen...
44:00 ))))))
very cute 😊😊
its gradius parody
36:14 EXCLUSIVE LEVEL !!!!!!!!! SNES version rulz
Need to get what the Japanese are smoking. Must be some real good shit.
I like this series. But the Franchise Original Sin here was too many giant ladies!
Fanservice. Yep. But then came Sexy Parodius which was a bit more absurd. Definitely not a kids game. For the Amish States, anyway. Hm I have conflicting emotions about that stuff, but ignore the sexualized females and bunny girls and you've got a great shooter series right here. Gokujou Parodius is my absolute favorite, that one's a blast, right there. Fantastic soundtrack.
The great, wacky, funny, unforgettable SNS shoot'em up : Parodius
NO REVERSE GEAR?
XD xD xD Good childhood memories :) They must really have smoed some fun stuff the pll behind this game.. q question.. sometihng i have been wondering since my childhood.. in the puplic-bath stage... does someone know what det japanese-text in the background behind the boos says? :O thx :)
japan games or over seas games are the best SEGA SATURN
Very similiar to LifeForce game
Oh yeah gradius
Also It seems like a combination of Gradius and Stinger. In stinger game u shoot the bells to change the weapon
Yup, Stinger is part of the Twinbee series, which is another Konami shooter franchise. They all have some familiar elements between them.
I just was about to say it's a knockoff of gradius until the message popped up saying it😂😂😂😂
That's crazy. Losing all your speed and options. Wrong choice perhaps?
I wonder what would happen if Irem made a goofy parody version of R Type.
26:11 what?
I think he's shooting her because he's offended by the tacky choice of color for her bed sheets
People worry too much when the answer is that these people should play Konami old jewel... Parodius!.
ツインビー?良く眠れる。
I Wish Have That on Nintendo Switch Oniline, While Nintendo Switch Oniline Nintendo 64 and Nintendo Gamecube is Cancelled, Because Nintendo is Going to Do Super Mario 3D All Stars, Have Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy, Maybe Next Update of Nintendo Switch Oniline NES and SNES, After Got Update NES: S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team, SNES: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, Mario's Super Picross, and The Peace Keepers, Next Update is Gradius and Parodius! From Myth to Laughter on NES, Parodius Da!, Gokujō Parodius Jikkyō, and Oshaberi Parodius on SNES.
LOL. What the hell have i just watched???
45:12 What! How did you Suicide?
He Inputed the Konami code but the D-Pad variant instead of L and R triggers most likely
is this what drug feels like?
ok but why the PAL version
It's been forever since I played the Japanese version, but I'm pretty sure I remember both versions running at the same speed. Konami usually optimised their SNES PAL conversions pretty well.
@@NintendoComplete Fair enough. I'll look into that. The handful of Konami/Palcom PAL conversions I've played were unoptimised, so it'll be interesting if Parodius was.
メガホンもアメリカ語なのやね。
Que juego tan raro jajaja
ヤクザ船
Psevdo R-Type
Nintendo is Kid friendly! right?
Not in Japan they weren't, unless it was Samurai Spirits, which SNK STILL censored, even over there.
???
Dead Jups and Russian music
que carajos....😒
Sexual game jajaja
Wtf lmao.
the Japanese version is much better... you're only missing out on some silly English text but the game runs at the proper speed (the available patch removes the slowdown in parts), making it more challenging... I actually prefer the Japanese text because the English translations are incredibly childish... there really is no reason to play the PAL version over the Super Famicom one.
very low video quality!
I smoked a bowl before watching this and it was a mistake. I need to lay down, I'm sweating...
It's completely absurd and never takes itself seriously, but Parodius is just as good as any of Konami's more serious shooters. And much funnier.
Will you play the other versions aswell? (NES/ Gameboy)
@@CarbonPanther Yeah I'll be putting up the NES version soon
