Never seen a title to a video so tuned in such a niche way to my life as a filmmaker. I always used to make WW1 films and had always adored the films shot on 16mm, before I even knew why they looked like that when I was a teenager. Such a wonderful video to see, man. Makes me feel good knowing that there are others so similar to me, and seeing you succeed in your childhood dreams is so wonderful and affirming. Keep it up man.
Thank you so much for creating this truthful and vivid and inspiring video, brother! An absolute honor and joy to battle in the creative trenches with you. Thank you for realizing your childhood dream with me, as our film was a dream come true for me also. We set the standard with Method and I'm thrilled to build from here. From the trenches to the stars!
Now this is what I'm talking about! Fucking incredible man. The effort, the care, the attention to detail. Pure art. I'll be keeping a close eye out for your stuff from now on 🤙
I grew up watching sooooo many period/war movies & to be able to see this happening, such an incredible film being made in my time, is mind blowing! Happy to be alive to witness it all! This movie is going to change lives!
This project is 🔥 Thank you for shooting this making-of to show folks the hard work you and your team put into your project. Keep up the 16mm magic! 😎🎥
very creative way to make the trench look busier. the footage looks so characterful. would love to see a mini series/movie of this - keep up the great work. bw, Pete (backlit pictures)
Wow! 😍 From the trip back in time, to the full flushed and well-executed vision, this is inspiring. Can’t wait to see what you are blessed to accomplish next! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
There's an irony in that if your 3D printer guy had shipped the Lebels pre-assembled and painted, it would have been illegal manufacture and exportation of a replica firearm under Canadian law, but a real Lebel could actually be shipped out of Canada relatively easily. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
What 16mm camera did you use? I have been looking into one myself that is quiet enough for sound sync. How do you focus the lens on old 16mm? You have no external monitor to pull focus from, right? The footage looks amazing! :-D
We used an Arri SR2 and an Aaton LTR! Both are sync sound and both of the ones used had an external HD tap so we could monitor footage and somewhat accurately pull focus from. The majority of time we’re taking marks with a digital tape measure to confirm distances.
@@nkosiroma I have considdered an SR2 myself, so it is quiet enough for sync audio up close? In a room indoor? How much money was it to get an external HD ta, or did you buy it with one?

That’s funny and a little scary to think about. We had many delays during producing it would have been brutal if the rifles were one of them!
Great work honey!! So proud of you and the team that pulled this together!
Couldn't have done it without you, love!
