This is truly a mind bending and blowing shiur! I listened twice already and I’m going to listen again. So self is like a blank canvas that is subject to all kinds of realities that it creates and experiences . Self can shape itself to become attached to Gd through performing mitzvot and become something greater. Since we don’t know what olam haba is like and there’s no opportunity to change how do we know who goes there and what’s the decision point for a person to enter? So complicated I’m not even sure at this point I’m asking the right questions . I wish I could go inside the Rabbi’s mind and swim there. This seems so complicated
My comment was deleted??Guess I was too happy I understood this. So I just got to Day 6 of the rabbi’s book which explains what is presented in this lecture. It really helped to hear this first. Thank you for this channel❤
I think this lecture is for the coming world i.e. one level up. Then the next step from here is not yet the static "being" you describe, but our next step is perhaps what R. Akiva describes, a place that allows us to build that future world or our part in it, in peace.
Please please put these lectures on Spotify. The ads are soo many now on this UA-cam channel. There are allot of Torah teachings on Spotify without the incessant advertising.
How does one reconcile the idea that mankind cannot change itself and who they are in essence becomes set in stone from upon entering the World to Come compared to this World? Especially when recall others saying to the effect that one actually does not stop growing or constantly elevating itself (at least spiritually, etc) and that it is a never-ending process of becoming ever closer to Hashem.
What enforces the laws of physics? Are those also angels? Who makes sure that momentum is conserved? Is it a different angel than the one that makes sure energy is conserved?
Is The Satan an exception to the rule of an angel cannot change? As he feeds on the Shefa, and gains dominion from the kedushah that we lose when we transgress(heaven forbid)
Maybe what you're saying is that G-D wants you to experience His point of view that He is both outside and inside, everywhere, and nowhere - at the same time - and that there is no OUTSIDE, as you mentioned ! IOW, the Creator's SELF-AWARENESS, and CONTEMPLATION of HIMSELF, is what he ultimately wants - BY YOUR CHOICE - YOU to experience! Put another way - he made the Yetzer Harah to feel and think that YOU are responsible for the world, and then, TURN THINGS AROUND, (Teshuva), and realize that what you are aware of is actually Hashem Himself - the projector behind your head, showing you the Universe in front of you, and His ineffable Presence in every part of your flesh - on the inside!
Can you not say that the creation of SOMETHING FROM NOTHING regarding Mankind, has to do with the CHOICE he makes from what G-D is presenting and offering?
🦋beautiful 🦋
Remarkable, thank you.
אחד השיעורים החשובים ביותר ששמעתי עד כה. ברור. תכלס מה מטרתנו בעולם הזה
Thank you Rabbi

Hashem created us to follow the law of Moshe and do all the mitzvahs

Would that be a significant “change” if that is exactly the function for which the Angel was created? It doesn’t seem so to me.
