Good news! Lagrange's voice is used for singing the role of Christine Daae in the 1990 miniseries of Phantom of the Opera (using actual opera). So good!
J'ai beaucoup aimé Michelle Lagrange que j'ai vu de nombreuses fois (Opéra de Paris Palais Garnier, Salle Favart) Manon, Le Mariage secret, Robert le diable etc... Dommage que sa carrière resta limitée à l'héxagone, mais quand on a un petit pois dans le cerveau en refusant le rôle de la comtesse Adèle du Comte Ory à la Scala. On se pince!
The greatest Esclarmonde of the 20th century was Sutherland, but despite a little steeliness in the high D's, I give Lagrange great marks. She really sings it well! Great color and nice full tone!
What a master Massenet is! Fournillier is wonderful. Perraguin is good, even though she made a couple of musical mistakes... Lagrange has lovely musical instincts, but I find her performance uneven vocally. Still, I am glad for this video.
Lagrange is beyond stunning!!! I would've payed anything to hear her sing this.
