The reason he wouldn't have known he was going to die was because her last word was Sollux, so if she was around him when he heard it he wouldn't have realized it.
Wait, if Sollux can hear the voices of those that will die soon, doesn't that mean he knew Aradia was going to die?
+Death Doesn't Breath Personal Headcanon-
Sollux knew Aradia was going to die but he had no idea how, although he had a feeling it would be his fault, so he shut her out for a while before her death, not speaking to her or going to visit her. This caused Aradia to think maybe she had done something wrong which made her anxious as well as depressed, thus explaining why she was so excited when Vriska told her he was coming to see her.
