How do you treat dementia by restricting the person's access to everyone and anyone they know.
That's a good question. If anything, I feel like excluding those things would just accelerate the damage that dementia causes. Wouldn't it be more beneficial to keep dementia patients around things that are familiar to them? Friends? Family? Possible possessions they own that helps bring them comfort? It doesn't make sense.
I thought it had to do mainly with people around her giving into her demands for alcohol and things like that? It isn't a good way to handle it at all if that's the case.

Why are so many high profile guardianships so harmful?
Because money and greed
They're targeted. The person works hard, creates wealth then strangers come along and see them as a way to make an easy buck. So they convince a court the person needs a conservator and it's approved. They don't even have to know the person! There are books published to teach people how to do this!

Having seen now several relatives with dementia constantly brag about how rich they are knowing full well they don't have that money, among many other stories you know aren't realty, the documentary is fully exploitative.
