In-depth (2): Ghana Writers Association Eulogize Late Haiku Poet Adjei Agyei-Baah with Book Reading

  • The Book Reading in Honour of Adjei Agyei-Baah was held at the Opoku Ware Memorial Museum at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, the Capital city of the Ashanti Region of Ghana, on the 31st of May, 2024.
    The reading session, which was organised by the Ancestral Poet, was attended by writers, poets, Agyei-Baah's family members and well-wishers.
    Agyei-Baah was originator of 'Afriku', the African version of Haiku, a short Japanese poem. He published six anthologies, including 'Afriku' and 'A Piece of my Fart'.
    Agyei-Baah has been celebrated by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his poem written to honour the Asantehene.
    Agyei-Baah died in December 2023 in New Zealand while pursuing his PhD at the University of Waikato.
    He left behind a wife and three children.
