I definitely agree that tool belts need to be better designed for ergonomics. Maybe you should design your own and sell them :-)

Let me start off with a disclaimer, I love the channel and I don’t want to sound like a dick, because I made the same mistake. The suspenders were incorrectly attached, firstly the back straps are designed to cross over one another; this allow them to distribute the load more evenly and keeps the bags hanging evenly. Secondly, the clasps on the suspended lock down to keep the padding from migrating back throughout the day, but said clasps only work if the straps are crossed in the back. Thirdly, I highly recommend moving the chest strap up to about mid pec, this keeps everything where it’s supposed to be when working overhead. I’ve had my diamondbacks for almost 2 years now and they are by far the most comfortable and ergonomically designed bags I’ve ever worn. I wouldn’t trade them for anything! Thanks for all the great content and I hope you enjoy your diamondbacks as much as I do!

The main problem with Diamondback is they hang waaaay to low. You have to wear your belt under your armpit just to reach a dang tool. Definitely not designed by someone who actually worked in the field

So I helped design the Nikko so let’s go over some things really quick for everyone. The pouch is as heavy as you want to make it. The “handles” are hammer loops or tool loops. Most guys use the holster but some like the loops. The suspenders are set up improperly. Like most tools if they appear to not work properly you’re probably using it wrong. The mule is a pouch it was originally designed for carpenters but obviously an electrician can use it and many do. There is no dedicated slot for a roto split. Why because you don’t dedicate pockets to tools that are not used by everyone. I carry a roto split and I just loop it through the hammer loop on my wrangel. As far as your “battery holder” is concerned all heavy nylon pouches have a break in period just like leather. Guys carry 35’ tapes in that pocket without a problem. I carry a 25’ wide blade with no issues in a tighter pocket than that one. Most guys carry their tools on their dominant side and maybe some odd ball tools on the non dominant side. That’s how the Nikko is designed. If your belt is seated properly it shouldn’t really be an issue and definitely not with the suspenders. This is just coming from a guy who has helped design all three electrician specific pouches and a journeyman who has been running diamondback pouches for three years. It’s one thing to not like a product and find it’s faults. It’s another to take a premium product, set it up improperly and bash it on social media for clout.

The strap in the front is sternum strap, similar to backpacks, and is designed to be worn across the chest, which should keep the shoulder harness from slipping off the shoulders. Thanks for the review. BD has great climbing and hiking gear. Sounds like they have a ways to go in the utility sector.

Couple tips for you; One - slide the chest buckle all the way up to your CHEST so it can actually do its job and prevent the shoulder straps from sliding off the side of your shoulders. Two- loosen your belt so the weight of the rig is transferred from your hips to your harness. That way the harness can do ITS job. This will also solve the issue of the shoulder pads sliding back. Are there any other issues I can solve for you?

Did anyone already mention to cross the suspenders on the back of that there tool belt? Yours looked straight.
That's what helps hold them across your shoulders in stead of slipping off. It also keeps them locked into the back pad. Then that loop is for hanging the entire rig. If you still feel like it slides with things crossed, just do what I do, and slip a nail or pin through the slide to lock her in place. Then the mid front strap, I generally run mine mid chest. Really keeps the shoulder straps tight to your neck without shifting. As high as you like it is where to place it. Mine probably right above the pecks.
Can't help you with the other more preference things, but I'll share a few things though lol. That rig you are running is more tuned for framing in my opinion. Shit load of nails on one side balances out the weight on the other.
The handles for loops are for other things that hang, or as an attachment point for tethered tools. My main use is tethering when working overhead unless I put another hook on the belt directly.
That cinch on the pouch is great for keeping small things in there, but I do agree it can get in the way.
Every system takes time to build and test.
Got a kick out of the video though.

Diamondback bags are pretty dang good. I have been using mine for about 1.5 years and they have held up great and are quite comfortable. That being said there are some weird things like the hammer loops and those straps/pockets that cant fit tools with insulation. I don't agree with how little research was done before doing this review because it is obvious on how you wear you belt and suspenders that none was done. First off the belt should be worn tightly around your waist and ride higher up on your body this was a game changer for comfort when I found this out. secondly the suspenders where worn completely wrong, they are nice suspenders. Also the choice in the non dominant side pouch was pretty dumb if you don't lie how it is laid out because they offer so many different pouches that would work better. I am not a die hard fanboy trying to rep a brand. I don't think diamond back makes the greatest shit ever but as far as ergonomics go no other company from what I have found has put as much effort into tool belts and I don't want people to be led away from a solid choice in tool belts because of a poorly made review.

I use an Occidental set up and I love it. Have suspenders also which are permanently on.
It looks like your suspenders need to loop through the back yoke and down to your belt. That will solve your suspenders issue. The rest of the issues, well, it is what it is, a DB... again prefer leather, prefer Occidental.

That sucks about the pouches being small, especially the size of the strapping for handled tools being super tight. I have a pouch that has the same thing, it's like no one thought about big handled thick tools. By the way, I think you had the suspenders on wrong, they're supposed to cross in the back and then the "middle strap" is supposed to be way higher, up on your chest (like a hikers backpack, almost at your neck).
You keep saying it, make your own bag! I'll buy one, haha.

Hey man I have a denali setup with suspenders and I noticed a few things...
1 Your diamondback belt is made to go at navel height. Yes it is weird at first but once you have a few days in it like that you will notice an improvement in your back and hips. You have to really tighten it up too.
2 you suspenders are not on right. The straps should cross in the back from one side to the other and the tabs on the top of the straps need to be locked down (forward) so they won't move. First rig I can wear for 10 hours and not have a sore back at the end of thd day.

Sometimes it’s good to keep some tools offhand and at the ready. I usually have my impact offhand and any large flathead or pry bars on the side as well. Also I only ever keep what I’m going to be using for the next hour on my belt. And keep a tool cache/ fastener cache around the site.

Ive looked at the diamond bags they loom stout. But i dont like the slot layout of the tool pouch. I dont like there is no pockets on the outside just screwdriver slots. To me that looks like screwdrivers will get hung up on things that are around your working area like equipment, studs if theres framing, or the rails of a lift. The other thing i dont like is how the material pouches of the diamondbacks hang real low. I think im going to build a belt around the buckaroo the signature belt. Ive been in the trade almost 16 yrs so im starting to feel pain in my lower back. And the signature belt works like a back support. I will also end up getting the 4 pocket nail bag. And i was going to get the klein 5167 tool pouch but i think i will go with the occidental leather electricians tool pouch. I forgot if its the one that comes on the commercial belt set up. A simple visit to the Diamondback site would have shown you that you had the suspenders on all wrong. Also, the fall through pocket is good for channel locks (single handle slides in) the floppy loops are typically for additional hammers (e.g., soft faced). I actually like the idea of a pouch tightening strap. Agreed on the tape measure pocket...useless. Having said all that, keep up the vids as this is one of my favorite channels.

In case it's not, for everyone watching this trying to determine if the belt is actually good or not, he is wearing the belt and suspenders the exact opposite way they are designed for everything he's mentioning as an issue.

If you follow diamondback on Instagram, it’s apparent they use tool “influencers” to design their pouches. This video is proof they need to be working with actual tradesman who spend a minimum of 40 hours a week wearing their pouches to earn a living. I’m a carpenter who paid for their Denali 2.0 and maestro setups and I’m getting ready to sell them. They are built with far better materials than off the shelf pouches, but there are too many small design nuances that have grown to be a massive pain over time in production settings.

I agree not the most comfortable tool belt but I notice that the Instagram models/influence guys that use @diamondtool belts love them for the five minutes they use them to hang a single 4x8 sheet of drywall for there videos

Occidentals will always be #1 to me, but Diamondbacks are cool for anyone who wants to upgrade from leather. Leather gets better with time and nylon doesn't really ever wear. I like that leather will continue to fit tools better and better whereas nylon doesn't really do that.

I ditched the tool belt years ago. Save your back and aggravation, go with a Carhartt Apron and a belt tape measure clip. Between the apron and a good pair of carpenter pants, you can carry what you need for the job at hand. Task change? Change the needed tools you carry in your apron. It works and you’re not tied down to a heavy ass belt.

I agree with some of your points however I feel you haven't quite done your research on then each pouch and that they are designed to fit all round the electrions needs and wants for example the sintch strap some electricians like a pouch close to there body others do not as a company they have to think in the most efficient why to produce a product with a reasonable coat of making, however you do have some valuable arguments.
