Awesome boxes!! Love your mirroring method!! Your boxes are going to bring lots of smiles to a couple of little boys. Yes, I also struggle with maneuvering items around to make them fit. I would like to make a suggestion. In years past I probably didn't do this, but I do now. I buy the cellophane pretzel bags located in the cake decorating section by the party stuff in Walmart to wrap the toothbrushes.
Great idea! I get the pretzel bags from Temu and use them to put my sharpened pencils in, so that the lead doesn't damage other items in the pencil pouches. I also get toothbrush covers from Temu for just a few cents each.
I appreciate well-packed Shoeboxes! I was going to ask how to react when someone on FB posts a Shoebox that is woefully inadequate? I don't want to be unkind, but I recently saw one that isn't going to fill even half a Shoebox, and there is almost nothing in there except a few cheap items. I realize not everyone can afford to pack an expensive box, but if a person is just packing one, maybe they need to buy a few things over time and make it a good one. The one I saw didn't have any kind of stuffy or doll, no school supplies, no Wow! item and honestly was possibly the worst I've ever seen. (I feel kind of mean for even mentioning it, but is there a way to encourage people to do better without belittling them?)
That's a great question and certainly can be frustrating to see shoeboxes that aren't hardly filled. ♥️ I think the best way we can prevent this as much as possible is to continue to try to educate beforehand what a full, fun shoebox looks like and emphasize the guidelines from Samaritan's Purse with including a WOW item and other essentials. I try to tell people to fill up all the spaces as much as possible. I'm not sure I would comment on an already packed box, that would probably cause hurt feelings and like you said, it could be the best they could offer. Thankfully, the processing centers have some filler items for these boxes that come in pretty empty. But we can trust that the Lord is in control over each box and He can work through each one in a unique way. I hope that's helpful to you and keep up the good work with packing full, quality boxes! 🎁
I’m somewhat new to OCC and I have a question. What size socks, underwear, shirts, clothing items do you get for each age group? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!
Hi Debbie! That's a great question! You can buy any size clothing that fits within the age group you're packing for. I tend to pack the larger sizes for each age range so the child can fit or grow into it at least. For the 2-4 year olds, I send size 4t or 5t in clothing, about 11/12 or 13/1 in shoes. For the 5-9 year olds, I usually send size 10/12 in clothing and about size 2/3 in shoes. For the 10-14 year olds, I send 14/16/18 sizing (or even XS/S adult) and about 5/6 or 7/8 in shoes. I hope that helps! 🩷
Great idea❤❤❤
Thank you! 🥰

That is a great idea! It helps the toothbrushes feel more sanitary and new
That's an excellent tip! Thank you for that ❤ I will definitely look into it for my toothbrushes 🤗
