There's a short list of impactful, bell cow rbs these days and typically their handcuffs will produce just as much as rbs drafted later should they go down with an injury.
I'm drafting 1.1 in a 10 min league. If the chips fall right I'm seriously considering going 3 RBs off the jump. Cause a panic at the position, people reach for RBs after that, good WRs drop to me at the 4/5 turn.

After drafting a ton, I believe that the double rb strategy is the way to go, you’ll see if you stack hero RBs early, you’ll be able to build a much more well rounded roster.
In a 10 man; dynasty, PPR, 2QB, 3WR, I got CMC at pick 7, Hall in the 2nd and Garret Wilson in the third. Absolutely dominated the top end of the draft
Good RB starters, but the Wilson pick in the 3rd scares me because of how Rodgers will play and/or stays healthy. I drafted both Rodgers and Wilson last year and got burned heavily for it
Great video. I will definitely consider this strategy. I think I would have taken Jaylen Warren and Jerome Ford instead of JSN and Curtis Samuel. I like the idea of having a couple more high upside rbs on my bench vs wrs.
My 12-team PPR league messes things up. (Position:Roster/Start) QB:2/1, RB:5/3, WR/TE:5/3 I simply can't wait too long to get my RB3. It also really dissuades me from drafting a QB (even a top 4) early, since I really need 3 RB's and 3WR/TE's by Round 6.
WRs still more valuable, but if Bijan/Breece falls to you in the 1st, then JT/Gibbs in the 2nd, then take the value where it falls. In 3WR formats, Zero RBs can be viable but just understand the value falling and start identifying the patterns/strategies your league mates may be drafting with so you can adjust
I'm so torn on what I am going to do this season in my 12 team PPR league. I have the 1.1, and I am almost certainly going CeeDee or Tyreek. My issue is what to do at the 2 3 turn. Right now I am looking at Waddle, Pacheco, Achane, Etienne, and Nico. I want to def go one of the RBs , just not sure who that second person will be. I'm even considering going Hurts at that spot. Super tough decisions.
I have the same thoughts. I’m a Jets fan though so trying to take bias out of it, but he’s going to be a check down god on top of his elite rushing value..
I pick 12th in a full PPR league. I expect to be drafting two of Taylor, Gibbs or Barclay. There are a lot of good WRs in the rounds that follow. I figure it’s a way to get ahead of the rest of the draft
I might be able to team McCaffery, Taylor and Henry (which is a long shot. but we are superflex, and qbs tend to go quick in the first 2) But at the low end my 3rd rb could be K.Williams.. Taylor is my 7th or 8th round Keeper.. Pick is 5 out of 12.. Just wonder if I should or is passing on a Kupp (who I think will have a good year) or a Tyreek. is stupid, when I could still have Henry and Taylor and Hill or whatever... or even a top QB and the 2 rbs...
Great stuff! I’m in a 2 keeper, 1/2 PPR, 3 WR/1 flex league & have Saquon, Kyren & Drake. Thoughts are to keep my RB’s and draft 3 WR’s & QB @ 36/37, 60/61. Thoughts?
1.09 in 10 man PPR. I'm doing AJ Brown, Gibbs, then going Hurts/Allen, then reaching a smidge for Kupp. I want Godwin and Kincaid. Either stacking AJ/Hurts or Allen/Kincaid. I'm going to win this year.
@@KevinBeary DJ and Kupp are the two I can’t decide between. DK has never had a big season and certainly won’t this year. I’m drafting Kupp or DJ with top 10 upside

Playing in a 12 man 2 flex 3 wr 1 QB 1 TE half ppr, taking Gibbs at 1.10 and then either want pucka,Wilson at the turn but if Wilson and pucka aren’t there, do you think I should in this format take Marvin over Kyren or just take kyren and pair him with Gibbs???? Please help bro
Would you use this strategy in a 3WR leauge? I have 1st pick so could build around CMac and take another one on the 2/3 flip. ideally, I’d get CMAC and Achane.
I'm in a half ppr league and already know I'm picking at the 1.11. I'm strongly considering double hero RB and going Gibbs and either Kyren or Achane.. of course I thought double hero RB would be optimal where I was picking last year and ended up going zero RB in that league. Like you said just gotta stay like water and let the board fall to you 😂
Do you think you would follow this order from the 4th pick in a half ppr 12 man high stakes redraft? I have been heavily thinking about taking breece first and going this route over Chase. Would love to know your opinion.
I’ve got the 5th pick in a 12 man ppr league , I’ll pretty sure breece hall will make it to me , possibly bijan as well .. should I double up in rounds 1 and 2 with maybe either one of those guys and maybe a Travis etienne or keyran Williams in round 2 or go wr round 1 if jamar chase or amon ra st brown fall to 5
How would you handle a league like this?... 10 team start 1QB, 2RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1WR/TE, 1 WR/RB, 1 Superflex? 20 total roster spots. In theory, you could start up to 5 WRs every week. But you can't just draft 5-6-7 WRs in the first 10 rounds because you also have to worry about QB, plus still putting attention to RB and TE. I've been in this league setup for 20 years now. I've come to the conclusion that you cannot build the perfect team in a format like this. You have to be weak somewhere. Any advice?
Did a draft earlier today with 2 drafters that drafted 4 RB's in the first 6 rounds, the ADP's were so messed up, I was lucky the I landed Robinson in round 1, but finally had to do a couple picks in the 9th round drafting some RB's 10 ahead of ADP just so I could get some legit RB 2's. Multiple RB's were drafted more than 20 ahead of adp
Last year had so many good WR’s in the 2nd round but this year it’s a lot more questionable. If I do go RB in the 1st I like the 2nd round RB’s a lot more and am willing to go double RB which I normally am against.
Double Hero RB... Or as it is more comonly known, the norm for all time. The reason Hero RB makes sense to get it's own name as a strategy is because a given player might feel some pressure to get a mediocre/safe second starter at RB. The strategy tries to help you get a plus starter at another position by intentionally foregoing that mediocre/safe second RB. One hero, and then fill out the team. Double Hero RB seems like it is just saying never intentionally have an RB as a flex. I agree there are more receivers who are worthy of the position, but Mostert and Raschad White were drafted in rounds that are for flexes. If the strategy is to pick the right guys, then that is good advice, but not quite a strategy.
Who are you targeting with this strategy if you're picking towards the end of round 1? Full pt ppr, my 1st pick will fall between 8-11. I'm thinking Gibbs round 1, then kyren or achane round 2?
Say u have data if u want, for years I’ve watched ppl fail to make the playoffs over and over using this strategy because their rbs are out scoring the league by ten points every week but their wrs are being outscored by 15+ every week. The point differential at the rb spot isn’t worth it
This is great and all, but Ron what if I draft from spot 2? Tyreek or Ceedee are my clear grabs and also any elite running back is gone by the end of round two in most sleeper mocks. I usually have a pick at James Cook by the time it gets to me at end of RD 2. If I am VERY lucky I get a stab at Achane, Etienne or Henry but even then this is the extent. It seems that the double hero RB strat although nice, is not built for pick 2 in home leagues this year.
I was doing a little league study for my home league. It’s half ppr, 2wr, 2rb, 1flx. I noticed that the top teams in my league last year started RB’s in their flex spot. I feel like if you get 3 strong RB’s that has crazy value in the flex spot. At worst I feel they have trade value. Any thoughts? I just feel like people are starting to go crazy with the receiver shift.
If you’re a league mate of mine, you can go ahead and leave a like, then politely kick rocks. Ron’s data is all mine.

Did it last year, won my league
What RB would you pair with Gibbs at the 1-2 turn in a 10 man?
JT
Saquon or Jt, no doubt draft david Montgomery later though
Kyren or Henry
If it’s a redraft league…fade Gibbs and draft Kyren & Henry.
In a 10 man; dynasty, PPR, 2QB, 3WR, I got CMC at pick 7, Hall in the 2nd and Garret Wilson in the third. Absolutely dominated the top end of the draft
2 guys in the same offense that hinges on a 40 year old QB not getting hurt. You played yourself.
@@KoalaJabthat 40 year old QB didn’t play last year and Hall was still RB2 in my league. Sounds like you need to learn basics to fantasy football
Good RB starters, but the Wilson pick in the 3rd scares me because of how Rodgers will play and/or stays healthy. I drafted both Rodgers and Wilson last year and got burned heavily for it
@@jackdrams3416 alright let's touch base at the end of the year
Weak league full of rooks if u was able to get cmc at 7
Great video. I will definitely consider this strategy. I think I would have taken Jaylen Warren and Jerome Ford instead of JSN and Curtis Samuel. I like the idea of having a couple more high upside rbs on my bench vs wrs.
I was mowing the lawn while listening so not sure if you touched on it but in a 3wr,2rb and 1flx do you still recommend the double RB strategy?
I’m wondering the same thing. I have the 6th pick in a 12 team full ppr league that has 3wr 2 rb and 1 flex. Trying to gameplan.
during the underdog segment he went more into depth of what you should be doing
Only league I've ever won was full PPR 3-WR and took Eckler and then Saquon two years ago.
My 12-team PPR league messes things up. (Position:Roster/Start) QB:2/1, RB:5/3, WR/TE:5/3
I simply can't wait too long to get my RB3. It also really dissuades me from drafting a QB (even a top 4) early, since I really need 3 RB's and 3WR/TE's by Round 6.
Hey Ron, I know you say not to go into a draft expecting to execute a specific strategy. But is this strategy almost a must in a non-PPR league?
Just started at pick 11. Went Gibbs & Kyren. Got Drake London and Nico in 3/4…. League mates sold 🤫
I went Bijan and JT then Drake London and got Mike Evans later.
That's nutty
@PhillyFinesse I did similar in a dynasty startup. Took burrow Bijan jt, then devonta Smith dk and davante adams later since dynasty. Solid imo
@@PhillyFinesse noob league haha
@spaddelful nah it's not. it's a Superflex dynasty. QBs go early, I went Double Hero RB instead so I was able to get these.
Would you use this strategy on a lineup where you start 3 WR and 1 FLX?
If its what the draft gives you
WRs still more valuable, but if Bijan/Breece falls to you in the 1st, then JT/Gibbs in the 2nd, then take the value where it falls.
In 3WR formats, Zero RBs can be viable but just understand the value falling and start identifying the patterns/strategies your league mates may be drafting with so you can adjust
Fair strategy, but I would never do it in PPR.
No reaching in rounds 2-3
I'm so torn on what I am going to do this season in my 12 team PPR league. I have the 1.1, and I am almost certainly going CeeDee or Tyreek. My issue is what to do at the 2 3 turn. Right now I am looking at Waddle, Pacheco, Achane, Etienne, and Nico. I want to def go one of the RBs , just not sure who that second person will be. I'm even considering going Hurts at that spot. Super tough decisions.
In a 12 man ppr start 7 is it crazy to take breece at 1.02 because I just feel like there is better wr value and breece I feel can pop off this year
I have the same thoughts.
I figure it’s a way to get ahead of the rest of the draft
the bank?
Whose barclay?
Busted. Forgive my typo 😅
Thoughts?
13th pick in 14 team full ppr.. im going best available round 1.. best rb/wr round 2... then thatll set my strategy for the rest of the draft
I like dj and Metcalf by A Lot over Kupp. Imo
@@KevinBeary DJ and Kupp are the two I can’t decide between. DK has never had a big season and certainly won’t this year. I’m drafting Kupp or DJ with top 10 upside
@PawpiChoolo in standard or 1/2 ppr... other than kupps stud year ... (i had kupp that year) ... check their stats. 27 yr old Dk has more yds and TDs and is still in monster shape and the main target ... Nakua is gonna steal targets and can we really count on kupps injury history improving at 31 ?
But tough choices... case for all. Good luck this year
Playing in a 12 man 2 flex 3 wr 1 QB 1 TE half ppr, taking Gibbs at 1.10 and then either want pucka,Wilson at the turn but if Wilson and pucka aren’t there, do you think I should in this format take Marvin over Kyren or just take kyren and pair him with Gibbs???? Please help bro
Would you use this strategy in a 3WR leauge? I have 1st pick so could build around CMac and take another one on the 2/3 flip. ideally, I’d get CMAC and Achane.
I went bijan and achane first 2 rounds as the 5th man in a 12 man league. Fingers crossed
Thoughts on using this in a 3 WR league?
Can use it in any format
I wish you could add in the stats for standard league also.
Still great content!
I’m surprised more people don’t play 3 receiver leagues
How do you feel about double hero rb strategy with double hero rb flex, picking first 4 rbs in first 5/6 rounds?
🎉 Sweet 🎉
I'm in a half ppr league and already know I'm picking at the 1.11. I'm strongly considering double hero RB and going Gibbs and either Kyren or Achane.. of course I thought double hero RB would be optimal where I was picking last year and ended up going zero RB in that league. Like you said just gotta stay like water and let the board fall to you 😂
Do you think you would follow this order from the 4th pick in a half ppr 12 man high stakes redraft? I have been heavily thinking about taking breece first and going this route over Chase. Would love to know your opinion.
Who do you think is a better pick, Breece or Chase?
Any advice?
Why not handcuff mostert and achane instead of picking Murray? I feel thats better in a 2 RB hero. Then you have a guarantee back plan.
Hopefully you loaded up on value everywhere else.
@RonStewartGiveaway Awww, I was excited for a second, but you are just a scam. Booooo! You are a bad person.
Would you use double hero RB for PPR too? I’ve done it before it still was successful but it wasn’t as good at taking 2 top WRs and then smashing RBs.
Dude, your videos keep getting better. Keep it up!
@RonStewartGiveaway wait, did I win something?
I got the 1.01 with breece in the 2nd and James cook 7th as my keepers. Would you do double hero w cmc or ceedee/tyreek first?
14 man FULL ppr league pick 4, hella money league, who should we be taking rounds 1,2,3
1 QB
2 RBs
2 WRs
1 TE
1 Flex
1 Kicker
1 defense
@RonStewartGiveaway confused what this mean
Also can you do 1/2 ppr two QB. We changed our home league last year to two QBs
Flexing a WR is so 2021... OP in 2024 is race to 3RB as fast as possible. Fill th eflex by round 3 with RB
Why? The wr position scores so many more points than rbs
Running back gets hurt has to put in Curtis Samuel at the flex rest of season* 😂 lmao nah bro
Don't think the waiver pickups will be as gangbuster this year. Lot of low end wide receivers to draft this year with good upside for flex spots.
Clicked because of the thumbnail lmao
Who are you targeting with this strategy if you're picking towards the end of round 1? Full pt ppr, my 1st pick will fall between 8-11. I'm thinking Gibbs round 1, then kyren or achane round 2?
So Nabers that early is a mistake imo. Harmon had a guy on that went back to 2013 and zero WRs taken in first round has ever finished WR1.
For the charts, why change espn to blue and sleeper to red? Like what purpose does that serve to change from their brand identify for no reason?
I drafted Bijan and Saquan last year. Finished 12th. 😢
Let’s go it’s a great day when Mr. August uploads!
All my leagues went super flex style last few years. Throws all this out the window
Solid strategy. Still leaves room to be somewhat value based💪
Take a gamble on Jordan Whittington or Jacob Cowing??
So would you say this is a slightly weaker build in ppr??
Maybe CMC drops? CMC, Henry/Kyren/ETN, then best WR? If he doesn’t drop then CD/Chase/Hill, Henry/Kren/ETN/Pacheco?
I was doing a little league study for my home league. It’s half ppr, 2wr, 2rb, 1flx. I noticed that the top teams in my league last year started RB’s in their flex spot. I feel like if you get 3 strong RB’s that has crazy value in the flex spot. At worst I feel they have trade value. Any thoughts? I just feel like people are starting to go crazy with the receiver shift.
The top teams started 3 rbs because they picked up Kyren or had JTaylor stashed.
